  2. Well here is the build I ended up going with. I didn't notice until I was IO'n him, but I had 6 7.5% recharges, so I changed the scorpion shield to hami 2 slotted instead of two lotgs.

This does however put me at 78.8% recharge, and I'm pretty sure you need 80% (with hasten 2 slotted) to have it perma once the very rare alpha slot is available.

Does anybody see a way to trade one/two of the energy defense bonuses around for another recharge bonus? I'm not seeing it. Any changes would be appreciated. He needs fly for concept though, and please no glad proc.

I have this actual build now in game, except for the LotG +recharges. It is a blast. I can definatly see the benefit of recharge bonuses on a cold, sleet is almost always up its awesome.
  3. Looks pretty good to me. Your relatively close to the melee softcap as well. You might be able to get some titanium coatings or touch of death sets in there and be softcapped to all three.
  4. Bump...the servers are down give me notes please.
  5. The hami in maneuvers was to both increase its def and lower its end cost by a lot, with one slot. You can actually prob gt them really cheap, i just bought the dam/acc one for 10 mill, think ppl are flooding the market with the synthetic ones from STF/LRSF, so you can probably luck out.

    The frankenslotting was for:
    +8 Acc
    +6 Dam
    +9 End redux
    +16 recharge
-6 heal (only decrease, and with 16 more recharg i think its worth it)

If your that committed to the 5% recharge keep it your way, this way it is just more accurate, does more damage, costs less end, recharges a lot faster, but does heal for less.

The build isn't perma hasten (which I'm not sure if you can do on a /sd scrap and stay at softcap, but I could be wrong) so 5% isn't gonna make or break probably.

I just think with a dm/sd scrap, a 10% buff to damage isn't that critical, you should be getting plenty of damage boosts from soul drain and AAO.

There could be a way just as easy to switch some slotting and get softcap and keep maneuvers, but you essentially need 3 bonuses (one for each position) or throw down the money for the glad +3, which for me is worth it on your main (if this is your main), but I wouldn't spend it on a toon im not playin all the time.
  6. Forgot to put build...

  7. Just switchin Assault for Maneuvers and putting in hami def/end will cap you to all three and is a pretty straight forward and easy fix without even touching anything else.

I think to cap your DDR you will need the hami's for active defense, which I think is a bug but it works on my sd/stone tank right now. Also grant cover has DDR in it so you want to keep it. I think every sd toon should take it, especially with inherent fitness, but I hardly see anybody take it. Its a great team buff, has DDR, and is a perfect mule for LotG.

Just changed Assault/manuevers and slotted siphon life a little different. The heal hami is really pretty cheap.
  8. I changed a few powers around, changed APP to PPP Mace mastery. This buid is softcapped to s/l/e.

I never liked siren's call, although your recharge might be a little lower now, which might have been your intention.

Let me know what you think. I've posted two builds, one def and one scrap, since downloading mids last week and have yet to get any replies on either of them, so maybe we both post perfect builds hehe.

  9. Well, I got the below build with thanks to the cold/ice build someone posted on forums (sorry I didn't write down who), used a lot of same sets. The build is 47.1% to S/L, 53.6% to nrg, 40.4% to Neg nrg (surely I can get to 45%), and 46% to ranged.

86.3% recharge, 156.3% with hasten going. I think this is enough for perma hasten when I get very rare recharge alpha slot.

    Also no purps/pvp ios.

End use seems high, but heat loss should be up a lot. Been staring at it for a while so something is probably missing (I didn't have heat loss for half the time LOL).

Please give me notes, first defender IO'd build

  10. Howdy. I am fairly new to mids, but not the game. My newest IO project is my cold/rad def. I have only really IO'd one other toon, ma/sr, and defense slotting is different sets altogether, at least I think.

I'm wanting to get 45% def to s/l/e, possibly ranged as well, and get to 80% recharge so when I get the very rare recharge I can get hasten perma.

I would like to avoid purp/pvp ios if at all possible. I don't think u can get to 80% recharge w/o them but I'm gonna try I guess. I'd rather get the glad +3 than fool with purps right now to be honest.

I tried searching but coudln't really find an up to date cold/rad build. I fould one cold/ice build that will be a good brainstorming point I guess.

Any help with builds you might have laying around would be much apprciated.
  11. Come on yall, there has to be something...

I was expecting at least a "you didn't take CaK" comment

I feel like I'm talking to myself.
  12. I rolled a fire/rad corr, got it to lvl 26, deleted it yesterday. I also got a kin/wp scrap up to 40. I plan on seeing how high I can get his regen rate up to when he hits 47-50 range. I know its probably better to slot for some defense instead, but I want to see what the highest regen I can get him up to would be. I also have a db/wp and might do it on him instead. I ended up spending much of yesterday respec'n my main, ma/sr, instead of taking advantage of double xp. I posted his build but I guess with double xp there wasn't a lot of people on the forums.

So far the kin/wp is pretty fun. The first three attacks seem really quick and fluid together. But damn CS, Burst, and FB seem like the take forever to fire off. I found, since lvl 32, I felt like a brute chasing rage(or whatver, cant think of name right now).

I can see why they would nerf CS though already, get to about 175% damage boost, and that damn thing was one shotting most stuff, was insane really.

I rolled a claws/wp brute not too long ago, but lost interest after I remembered why I didn't like claws before, the damn ranged attacks, reminds me of wolverine on the old arcade game, why the hell is he shotting stuff out of his claws? Just a theme thing for me really, and can't see not taking focus. Shockwave is an easy pass, but focus is just too good to pass up.
  13. Apex TF softcap? What number is this referring to? My apologies in advance if this was mentioned earlier, but i only went back a few of the 26 pages.
  14. Well I ended up going with 2nd build, slightly different slotting for aid other, put 1 interrupt time in it. Love it so far definatly miles better slotted up. Def and such holding u fine. Loving damn mids for sure.

Wondering if Panacea proc would be of much benefit? Seems like 68 more HP might be good, but where the hell would i get the slot for it. Its goin for 1.75 bill or so it seems, so definatly a lot of dough, but this is my main so prob worth it if its any good. With the cardiac uncommon.

Also, wondering if I could shave the LOTG sets down to 5 and free up slots that way. Having 15% resist to psi damage is nice I guess, but having those slots to put in panacea proc, and maybe slotting up health and stamina more would probably be of more overall benefit.

Any critiques are welcome, otherwise I will assume my build is awesome I guess.

    DB or Kat?

Depending on how much your gonna spend IO'ing, Kat will be more survivable. They are both really fun if you ask me. Kat still has some good Aoe, a small arc, a pbaoe, and one of the last powers can hit 2-3 if u use it carefully/luckily. DB can suck if you miss combos but with wp that won't be an issue. I have a db/wp scrap at 50, and he is a lot of fun. I had a kat/fire at 50 but don't have him any more cause I didn't like /fire and redrawing all the time for healing flames, although i had melee softcapped with 1-2 DAs, cant remember now been awhile. I'd probably do as Rina up there said, and play them both for awhile, I would say 32, and see which one you like. 32 so you get all the attack powers, some fresh SOs, and play for a bit with each. It really doesn't take too long to get to 32 these days, but Ive found tahts about where it starts to go slower, least for me anyways. I think kat hits harder, but db has more aoe and is flashier, although kat is plenty flashy itself really.

Well I was totally wrong on this one. This paste is from the issue 18 patch notes:

Scrappers Eagle Claw: Eagles Claw now increases the Critical Chance of Martial Arts attacks by 33% for 2 seconds after it has been activated.

Sounds like its just Ma attacks to me.
  18. Well, here is another build I did. This one has fire mastery instead, dropped 4 slots in passives and put them in aid self, with numina set in it. Dropped elude for the extra power needed fire vs mu. Put the lotg into passive. Keeps melee and aoe at 45.1% and ranged at 46.9, and DDR still at 95.1%. Also, how do the HP and Regen bonuses look on the build? And I've seen others slot aid self with doctored wounds instead of numina's, seems like numina's set bonuses would be better for my build. Again, please let me know if these aren't posted right, or the best way, from mids. So far I am loving mids tho really handy.

I think they are boosted by EC. I'm unsure how to verify in game though.
  20. Oh yeah, forgot that the level and selection of the powers probably aren't the same as when i picked them on actual in game build. It is mostly a high lvl toon, doesn't really exemplar much.
  21. First of all, first time really using mids and putting on forums, so if i pasted correctly please let me know.

The build - few things, fly for concept, have 66 month vet badge so can take it w/o other powers. I have a freespec I'm thinking of using to change out mu for fire. I would not slot char, and slot the blasts the same as this build. I'm softcapped to three positions, perma hasten at 172.5% or close to it I think. Melee is 45.6, ranged is 49.32, and aoe is 45.6%. I figure with I20 coming sometime soon I can respec back into Mu if I don't like fireball. I would have to lose resuscitate to pick up fireball though, which I'm probably fine with. I would like to keep the softcap and perma hasten, and some how open up some slots for aid self. I think their are some easy ways to do it, maybe only slotting the passives with two slots maybe. I'm only beginning to use mids so I'll toy with it myself some also.

I use the muscle alpha most of the time, and switch to end redux/resist one if on a big team with no sb and we are moving real fast. Most of the time I can run muscle with not many end issues unless I'm spamming the AOEs.

I know a lot of people don't use elude, but its a good place for my 5th LotG+, and its handy for a lil pvp, which is very little with this guy, so I wouldn't nessessariy be opposed to losing it, maybe instead of resuscitate for fireball.

    Any notes would be appreciated.

  22. Use DT or fireball/ball lighting or some other aoe after EC for a shower of crits. Its routine to see 3-5 crits easy in a large group. On ITFs it can get really fun.
  23. If you don't touch purps and pvp IOs, you can really deck a toon out for under 1 billion. A dude in my coalition posted where he sold one purple for 700 mill. The market on purples and pvp ios has really gotten out of hand. On the other hand, as stated above, you can get lotg+ for 2 merits pretty quickly and easily. You'll probably have a few in your build anyways and can save on buying them. I do TFs and take the merits and do rolls, can get some good stuff there, or use them to buy lotgs. A lot of really good sets that used to be pretty high priced are now really cheap. From what I've seen lately, unless its purple, pvp, or kinetic combat, basilisk gaze, or a few others, most sets can be bought for 1-5 mill for the entire set.

Also, you can get mids (which I still can't seem to get on this comp) and spec a build out and post it and these guys will give you notes before you actually buy stuff and that can save a lot of money. They can probably ball park a price too. But it sounds like you've been playin awhile so you probably got a lot of money layin around.

    MA attack chain?

I'd likely just go with SK -> CS -> CAK -> SK -> CK -> SK -> CAK -> Repeat But that's because I like the animations of CS and CK I can't make a MA character and not take both powers now! Because CS is just that good now, and every now and again I love to just hit things with Crane Kick.
I feel the same way about EC, I can't see not using it. My attack chain is EC - SK - CS - SK - EC repeat. I can do EC - CS - SK but there is just a lil bit of a delay, prob less than a second or a second. I'm not sure which one would be better DPS wise, one has SK more often, but the other has CS with the added chance to crit. I really can't see how an optimal DPS build doesn't have EC in it, as the added crit chance hands a ton especially with SK afterward.

Cobra Strike was garbage before recent buff. I am so glad they changed it. If you were using CS before for the stun, you could have just killed them with another attack. Best change for MA to date.
