MA attack chain?
SK - CS - SK - CAK is I believe optimal single-target but you can sub in Crane Kick for CS. Not sure of the recharges off hand. I know I haven't seen a MA/SD build that can both soft-cap to all 3 positions and have enough recharge for it (though maybe PVP IO changes that). I also know I haven't been able to figure out how to soft-cap S/L/E/N on an MA/WP with enough recharge to run it.
Here is a link where I posted Moonlighters info on Attack chains for MA after the I19 Buffs

This is a post From Moonlighter on dps chain after the buffs
Wow, okay so Crippling Axe Kick now hits like a truck. Well maybe not a truck, more like an Econoline Van.
At level 50 it now hits for a base of 132.63. Let's look at the current test numbers to see where it stands:
Counting boss crits and Arcanatime, the new DPA numbers:
Code:
Thunder Kick 54.79
Storm Kick 89.95
Cobra Strike 72.98
Crane Kick 72.96
Crippling Axe Kick 78.95
Eagle's Claw 59.16 (plus additional crit on next attack)
Some random attack chains and their DPS:
(Note in chains that have one of CS or CK you can freely replace one with the other.)
SK - CAK - SK - CS: 81.05
SK - CAK - CS - CK: 77.36
EC - CAK - CS: 75.53 (adds 33 EC crit to CAK)
EC - CAK - CS - SK: 77.15 (adds 33 EC crit to CAK)
CAK - CS - CK: 74.97
SK - CAK - CS: 79.07
So it looks like the old best attack chain is still best, though you can substitute CK for CS to avoid knock back.

Since CS and CK are more or less the same DPS wise, wouldn't a chain with both be almost as good but a lot less recharge intensive?
Something like:
SK-CS-CAK-SK-CK
Not sure about the order, i suck at all the chain building and arcanatime calculating. =/
edit: Also... the EC's added chance for crit is not enough to justify using it in a ST chain, right?

I'd likely just go with SK -> CS -> CAK -> SK -> CK -> SK -> CAK -> Repeat

Well, with Martial Arts, you're almost good to go with all the attacks no matter the way you go

So, basically, the replies in this thread are confirming the problem I already had.
That being, I like SK, CS, CK, CAK and EC all, and I like them a lot. I just haven't settled on a solid chain to use when it matters. I mean, let's be honest here, I can just face roll like 95% of what I face in this game. So cool animations are key.
What I was really interested in is what I should be doing to maximize my contribution to the team when we are running high end AVs and so forth.
Anyway, thanks all to everyone who has responded.
I feel the same way about EC, I can't see not using it. My attack chain is EC - SK - CS - SK - EC repeat. I can do EC - CS - SK but there is just a lil bit of a delay, prob less than a second or a second. I'm not sure which one would be better DPS wise, one has SK more often, but the other has CS with the added chance to crit. I really can't see how an optimal DPS build doesn't have EC in it, as the added crit chance hands a ton especially with SK afterward.

And in normal play, I'd use it all the time. It's only when going for DPS would I go to the other chain (if I even could to begin with).
Though it makes me think...
SK - CK/CS/EC (take turns with them) - SK - CAK - Repeat!
I'll have to figure out the DPS of that chain at some point. It really shouldn't be that much worse than SK - CS/CK - SK - CAK.

Not sure about Single Target, but for Groups, Eagle's Claw, followed by Dragon's Tail or another AoE...For.The.Win.Baby!!! I swear it seems like the Mass Followups Crit more than 33% sometimes
ST, since I already have Eagle's Claw, might as well use it. Usually follow it with Cobra Strike. Those enhanced crits still work...

With the recent MA changes there almost isn't a "bad" MA chain.
Personally I cycle EC + CAK + SK + Box, plus clicking Focus Chi every time it comes up. I throw DT in vs Box when it is appropriate to do so, and possibly put DT after EC for the circle crit if the foes are tough enough for it to matter.
I crit so often on CAK following EC that I almost _expect it_ to happen. Those two attacks back to back are insta-gibbers. They both hit for a ton. I imagine the bad guys heads popping off. Other players have asked "wth was that!?!" after I one shot something tough (I tend to use the punching animation which not everyone is familiar with). The ultimate ultimate is when Focus Chi is on, Gaussian's Chance for Damage kicks in, I crit with either EC or CAK and the Chance for Damage IO either power has procs...yeah, that never gets old.
I don't have any of the other MA powers but if I didn't want Toughness and Weave I'd have Thunder Kick or Cobra Strike vs Box as well. I used to use Crane Kick but I finally just got tired of the knockback messing with my groove.
Have fun!
So, what's considered idea/optimal these days, and how much global rech do I need to pull it off?
Thanks
