wow, just wow? i dunno i always thought COH was for rebels that didn't want to fall in with the "masses" but since you're all here i dunno, this place isn't what it used to be. I wanna be a rebel.
The games I was interested in this summer were JGE and CO but those both got delayed, so now what could be my last free summer until i retire is...uh...how we say, really fracking lack luster. I think going rogue is the answer to CO and i don't see a COH2 until 2 years after going rogue at the least. hopefully there's a really juicy list of stuff coming in going rogue <prays for new graphics engine>
but yeah guys what's up with being a norm? Be a rebel! Don't play wow! -
I'd go with integration or more likely resilience. I think this is more important with MArc now because i've been in several missions where i have to plan to take down bosses because i know they are going to floor my regen and make me a moot point. I've also been in fights with rads...which were just gruesome. Then thematically having -regen resistance makes sense, a being whose sole purpose is to heal from all wounds would be able to retain some of that even when facing opponents that target that aspect.
As to why resilience over integration resilience isn't all that great slotted it's only 10% resistance now it shouldn't be capping resistance but it's really only shaving damage off rather than resisting it. I would also imagine that resist enh would add to the resist -regen buff.
Integration already has a lot going for it between the mez resist and primary healing power (since the IH change to click) Fast healing i can see, but if the -reg resist buff is affectable by enh then i wouldn't want to have to debate slotting fast healing with resist or healing.
Of course spreading it out isn't so bad either...a little in int and FH then a enhancable portion in resilience. The question really is, "Has it been long enough since 'the great debuff' for regens to get a buff?" Even as relatively mild as this one? -
I'd personally go hasten SS rather than CJ SJ. I think you are actually overslotting for KB. I get KBed once in a blue moon and i don't have any of those special anti-KB IO's or set bonuses. of course if it's a thematic choice then by all means.
other than that looks pretty solid. -
But hey we didn't have to wait 6 months for it. right? maybe there will be a new council/5th raid dealie, maybe.
-
My sister...the adopted one for those keeping track...does the same thing. Although, at this point i think she's given up trying to get a smiley by any means. fake smileys lead to more frownies.
the little hellraiser. >_> -
I'm inclined to agree with texas. the AE building is most likely the culprit. I haven't had a chance to hang out in atlas lately i'm posting this thread from work so i can't really check it out now.
I considered my connection being at fault but A) it hasn't been at fault before and B) no other programs have shown evidence of a connection issue. I also don't reason that it is my computer since it's a brand new, i7 920 3G ram 4870 running XP, system that i built in january. The fact of the matter is i'm conservative and i've been running at lower game settings so i "don't stress the new hardware" even though COH at max settings is probably just a small bite for the 4870. That's why i don't suspect a problem at my end.
I believe that none of you have heard of it because the problem is so prevalent that nobody bothers to report it because they figure that one of the other 50-100 people affected in that particular drop has reported it. If you don't believe that no one would have spoken up, there is research and evidence to support it that are wholly unrelated to this thread. Generally i think that people have become accustomed to it. In fact i am at fault here too. I should have submitted a bug report, but i did not i figured plenty already had and that i would be "one of the masses" here to complain about the problem.
The reason i hang out in atlas is the same reason anyone else does and that is to socialize with friends participate in CC's promote my SG and generally do the MM parts of this MMO.
lachlin, i apologize if i offended you that was not my intention and thank you for your support Nova -
burn scares all the baddies away which make it a melee mitigation tool which could save you. On the other hand it's slow to cast so you have to plan ahead a little bit it's not really a "o no i'm gonna die <click>" power. it's more like a "i'm probably gonna be hurting after that alpha, <aggro> <healing flames> then <cast burn>."
ROTP is more like "i'm gonna bite it in this group but i'm gonna let it happen and blow them all up with ROTP." I got it first it was pretty useful. Slotted mine does a nice KB and powerful stun and 148 DOT to whoever overcomes the first 148 DOT.
I'd go with RotP just cause you are pretty soft to begin with and burns mitigating power is not really all that great. Maybe if you had a group taunt that might overcome the fear factor of burn. -

if anyone was missed sorry if a Pri or Sec was missed it's a 0 -
I'm gonna start a tally. I'll go with a grand total and then a 25 and up total. keep listin them as P/S LvL.
still not representative unless you want to go out and record all the scrappers you see runnin around. -
due to the drop system as i understand it the first one will always come faster than the 2nd.
I almost think that the first time you are eligible for a new drop the rate is significantly increased. I noticed that when purples came out almost all of my eligible toons got one within the first 24hours. but since then the drops i've gotten have been much more spread out. On the order of once every week or two weeks rather than everyday as initial rates would seem to imply. This could be a result of behind the scenes tweaking by the devs or intentional coding. not really an easy thing to test.
It would be interesting to link WW/BM to the drop system so that high prices or low quatities would increase the rate and high quatities and low prices would decrease the rate thus balancing the market. Obviously that could make things get hairy as people try to play with the market to increase their rates. If the adjustments are small say no more than 5% then it may work out. It may be worthwhile if it's no longer a lifetime achievement to thoroughly spec out a toon. -
oops, sorry definately meant i14 and if you can guess based on my sig i normally play on the triumph server. i'm 90% sure that everyone got discoed. i was standing with a bunch of other people when it happened and they all slowly came back over the course of 5 minutes or so. I've had it happen under atlas and in the AE building.
I'm also glad there are plenty of you to take enjoyment from typos in a thread about a serious problem affecting many players. -
I think i shall follow the flock of LRkiller worshippers and roll a DM/SH when i get home. I've been wanting to roll a shield and i guess it never occurred to me to pair it with DM which i've also wanted to do.
Gratz that's a pretty impressive feat. -
just from my experience
/dark armor is the least common secondary.
/fiery aura I see all the time, but then i'm the one playing it.
/shield is gaining in popularity
/inv is uncommon
/sr is rare
/wp is pretty common
/regen is also pretty common
kat/ medium to common
bs/ medium to common
Dark melee/ rare
spines/ pretty rare
fire melee/ uncommon
MA/ uncommon
DB/ uncommon to medium
claws/ medium
I think that covers everything. like i said that's just my experience with the whole thing. hardly indicative of any sort of trend. If you want to start a pole here are all my scrappers
MA/WP
DB/reg
kat/reg
fm/FA
3 of those are lvl50 db is stopped at 31. -
Are the rates different out of arena PVP? I must have been in BB for 2 hours and was getting 1 in 200.
Also does level range affect the drop rate? -
As far as i can tell i14 has introduced a bug where everyone in atlas park is mapservered. I don't know about other servers but this occurs semi frequently on triumph. Just about every time i hang out in AP i get mapservered at least once, that implies to me that it happens fairly frequently. If anyone else has any information on this please post. I know i am not alone because last night i logged back in after a mapserver and i was the only person under atlas. That happened at maybe 8pm...i forget the exact time. I don't remember anything like this happening before i14.
{edited for typos} -
The way i read the the PJC would be more like a detective team than a judicial body. essentially someone passes a case to them and they get to review the evidence collected by the GM and CS. you can then make your own decision and resubmit the case to CS.
I see the system being totally swamped near instantly. I think it would be better to have 5-9 members per server. They should be rotated out (3 at a time every month, with nine members that would be a 3 month term) This would prevent any sort of infighting lasting an excessive amount of time.
problems: Some one leaves and doesn't say anything, resulting in deadlocks for up to 3 months. Someone takes bad blood into the council and makes it their duty to scorn other council members and/or specific individuals within the population.
Also picking members from the forum community that are vocal is a bias against the majority of users. There are plenty of well minded individuals who have perfectly good heads on their shoulders who only post once in awhile. Forum activity should have absolutely no effect on selection.
I also question the idea of some sort of election process as that would almost devolve into a popularity contest, and overhype what should be a subdued deciding body.
I think a more ideal system would involve taking a case to a randomly selected jury, ideally of another server. but since some people play on multiple servers that's not quite ideal. anyway said jury member see's the case but no names if possible and decides whether the action taken is acceptable or unacceptable. Then they are allowed to make comments on the case. Each case is sent to multiple people and the final tally returns to CS. If it is significantly opposed to the action taken, ie 70% or more, then the decision may be overruled.
naturally working with ideals in a non-idyllic society is...difficult. -
sylar did it, don't you guys watch heroes?
-
I wonder if you could use something from the COH fansite kit, I dunno if any of that would fit into vis studio but you might be able to pull designs or what not from it at least.
-
i will have to come back when i have speakers a lot of these look pretty good.
-
i actually tend to bite it more on my ice blaster than i do on my fire blaster. i used to joke that a fire blaster isn't working right if it's not face down 50% of the time...i wonder how true that is anymore since i spend about that much time face down on my ice blaster and my fireblaster can nearly solo citadel TF. (all those council line up in nice neat groups that i can AOE AOE AOE) That said the two are 10 levels apart so maybe the one isn't doing well simply cause it is a lower level. There's really no limit on characters so roll both and see which you like better.
-
nice thread. Wasn't there a guy working on building a program to do all these calculations? you know for the arcana-ly challenged? anyway, I know what to shoot for now.

~ Make Cobra Strike useful.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a problem with this. cobra strike is useful. I can stun any lt that comes my way and when stacked with EC it'll put a boss out long enough for me to beat down something else that is bothering me.
I made a MA/WP last fall? i forget when, probably one of my fastest to 50. It's fun to play. It isn't an "easy mode" scrapper like kat/regen. You have to tweak your playstyle a little bit but the thinking is what makes it a fun character to play. It's also very unique, i hate it when i get on a team with another MA/* cause i have to share my awesome.
i remember back 2-3 months there was a ton of MA/* threads and for a week or so several MA/WP threads. It's not dead. they are certainly less rare than they were before the recent buffs. the jack of all trades is a bit of a draw back but it's still a lot of fun to play. -
nice, really like coppercats look
I think most of you know MilkShakes, I also have Char Cat a fire/fire scrapper. And my latest creation a ice/ice blaster Meowce. Oh i guess i have a ninja stalker Ches'sa...mostly retired. -
