  1. Yea, I tried with my claws/sr and gave up after 45 mins... I just zoned and kept hitting the same 3 buttons over and over until I realized how long it had been.

    Fire/Shield PVP

    Because Shields get their defense from Ranged/Melee/AOE so you want to get all those numbers to 45% and not care about anything else defensively. Using Kinetic Combats on a Shield is a complete waste of money as stated of above... You are not the only person who does it and when I see it I just shake my head

    He is saying Inulvn and WP use these sets because they can benefit more from typed defense through the use of reactive armor and kinetic combat/smashing haymaker

  6. Is there a specific reason for skipping focus Jak?
  7. Yea you really dont need the 2 slots in PB, pretty much can put that anywhere else. Also if this is just for end game you are better off just sticking an end reducer into as opposed to a recharge.

    Just playing around with it, you could put the gaussin set in build up, drop combat jumping and pick up hasten, and just drop the kismet and lotg rech elsewhere.
  8. Yea, in my build I sacrificed Aid Self in order to get more recharge, sure you lose survivability but for the most part when I solo my regen is enough to keep my alive. I had problems with Battle Maiden but she hits hard..Diabolique I fought for about an hour (damn PFF) and then got bored. Looking back I thought Aid Self was necessary but now that I don't have it I really don't miss it all that much.

    Aid Self really just comes down to personal preference I think.

  10. Here is the build I currently am running, I used to use aid self but spec'd out of it and really havent missed it all that much. Soloing AVs isn't quite as easy if im trying no temps/insp but otherwise i just carry greens and have no problems

    Don't know if you noticed but you forgot to slot the Steadfast +3 def in the 2nd build you posted which would kick you up over the softcap
  14. This is the build I have been shooting for after the BotZ nerf.
    Still unable to figure out if i can run the FU>Focus>Slash chain and if the Endurance is sustainable

    Don't like the amount of melee def though

    Maybe this will give you some ideas and maybe a number cruncher could help me out?

    claws/sr build

    Just a few things I can see, I don't have a brute but my main is a scrap claws/sr

    Just in general you have way to many LotG sets, remember the rule of 5. If i counted right you have 7 total sets so the last 2 are pointless.

    Typically Follow Up is slotted as an attack, although it may be different for you brutes.

    Dont need the 2 slots in practiced brawler, it will recharge in more than enough time, and with your amount of rech you are better off with just and End Reducer in the default slot

    Probably wouldn't slot shockwave the way you did, if anything take the slot from PB and one from Shockwave and throw it in Stamina to get the AOE bonus from that and 5 slot Posi blast into shockwave for more rech

    Also I am not sure how far over the softcap you are wanting to go but if needed to you could play around with the sets and maybe gain more rech/hp/regen/recovery etc and just lose a little bit of buffer

  18. Alright so with the BotZ news I had to relook at my claws/sr scrapper, easy to softcap again but I started messing around in mids and came up with a new build.

    Basically in the build I tried to see if I could get a ton of +rech and still stay softcapped
    1. Did I gimp this build in the process?
    2. Anything you guys see that I may not?

    Another set of minds would be great to hear from because everybody see's something in a different aspect

    Maybe if you were planning on soloing AV's (which have huge resist to To Hit debuff) or something you'd need that much Defense, but most of the time that's huge overkill. (I don't know if "most" is "51%" or "99%"; it probably depends on your playstyle. )

    Ok, I replaced Choking Cloud with EMP Pulse, dropped shout and picked back up Aim. Also took the Elec pool and slotted Trap of Hunter into Electric Fence and picked up Power Sink.

    Definitely like both of those suggestions, especially since I am not so familiar with sonic blast and have read mixed reviews on choking cloud, plus it gives me a tad more ranged defense.

    What would be a typical attack chain for Sonic Blast?
    Any better suggestions for power picks besides Assault and Veng? (those were sort of just filler powers due to lack of slots left)

    So I've typically been a blaster/scrapper and this is my first attempt at IOing a Fender so be easy on my fender noobness.

    Currently I'm trying to avoid purps in this build although they may be put in certain places at some point.

    I did take into account for the BotZ nerf and have about 42% range def and with RI that puts me at or around the softcap against affected foes?

    Any criticism/suggestions are welcome
