I wouldn't call it humility, but I freely admit that there are many games besides the different incarnations of D&D that are better suited mechanically for role playing.

Your statement "There is nothing, nothing, that enables roleplaying in D&D" is still wrong.

Now, I feel the group (GM plus other players) are a far more important element than rules. No matter how well suited a game might be to Role Playing, if no one in the group can do more than stammer out 'hit the orc' then that first player's experience for role playing is going to be poor regardless of rule set you are using, no matter how ever many background charts are used.
Likewise, even if the rules are more mechanically suited for roll playing, a good story telling GM with group interested in it will be far superior RP experience.

I also have more respect for most newer players than to say that a new player must judge all role playing games and the hobby as a whole based solely on their first experience.

I'm not sure what you mean with the second half of your sentence going on from "and that many ..."

    question

And they have to be within 3(?) levels of you, no level 50's killing level 2's
  4. From one point of view though, all you need the respec for is to grab the inherent fitness and pick three new powers. Could be done with one respec.

Changing IO's, redoing your build etc is optional.

I'd still like more time between, but thats because I wont to change around my builds more than just making fitness an inherent.
  5. Oh, and on topic, if anyone is looking for many types of Roleplay, Rollplay and board game action in Adelaide, Gamequest ( http://www.gamequest.net.au/ ) in the heart of the city is friendly and organsies players for GMS, and GMs for players.

You are very dogmatic about this.

Like there are many ways to write a novel, or tell a tale, not every story or background must be done via step 1 to step x in a fixed proscribed way.

The player is more important than the rule system.

Now you're putting words in my mouth. I'm saying that D&D is not made to appeal to everyone. It is made for roll players. Period, full stop, end of story. There is nothing, nothing, that enables roleplaying in D&D. New players often have trouble roleplaying, but if roleplaying is what appeals to them, D&D would leave them disappointed. Houses of the Blooded, on the other hand, would quickly become their favorite game ever.
If you lack the creative ability to role play with different systems (even the different flavours of D&D) it does not mean no one else in the world can either. Your limitations are not everyone elses.

Also, the only self-selection on RPG.net is tabletop RPG players. Hence the name, RPG.net. Kinda thought it was self-explanatory, there. But yeah, what does the largest online tabletop gaming community on Earth, many of whom spend much of their time reviewing RPGs (not to mention the people in the community who make RPGs, including pros like John Wick), know about RPGs?
I dont think RPG net is the biggest community. One of big ones yes.

I like it. It's a random board game, not a RPG, and fun for what it is. It could be a good entry game into RPGs though for people who wouldn't otherwise try them.

It wouldnt replace my RPG sessions, but makes a nice break when no one has energy to DM.

    I like a co-operatve multiplayer game too.

I enjoy playing with my young daughter with it too - its easy.

I am really curious about this, and I would love to get solid data, but apparently the forums consensus is sufficiently unambiguous that no one sees the question as interesting. Any suggestions as to how I could get people who could test this? Alternative methodology that would be more convenient?
I think the only way will be you to level up a tank and run it yourself.

    Day Job question

You should be getting incremental badge credit. Sometimes it takes a while to update on the badge (a while being 5-10 minutes).
Make sure the predator day job icon is over the character 0 not too close to ehlicopter etc.
I don't know if being in taskforce/MA task group would muck with it - but make sure you;re not in one if you have been.

    Then I'd /petiton & /bug it.
  10. I've wanted earlier access to midnighters to get the day job badge, which is part of the rez other temp power accloade. That might be a reason why.

Otherwise become a tourist, and jump on last mission for the badge blueside.
  11. For a guess I woud try Recipes one, as opening the make invention window always closes recipes if its open.

Well, look at that Sam, you're wrong again. Excuse me for not wanting to bake my brain.

By the way, I don't own a car and I have a hatred for GPS anyway since it's nobody's business where I drive. Oh yeah, and no wireless mouse or keyboard either.
Umm these sources seems to be blogs and opinion sites not research studies. http://www.rense.com in particular shouldn't be mistaken for amore than a tabloid type news site.

In short they seem to add up to "We can't rule out the possibility of risk," Nottingham's Challis says." All Better safe than sorry stuff.

I could find as many link supporting the the moon landing hoax thoery. Its not enough to have a web page to support your viewpoint

A more scholarly link would be http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/f...isk/cellphones which has references, more detailed descriptions of thier studies etc.
  13. I doubt I will get around to respecing on all characters - too many and impacts on facebash time.

But its more a time thing, not that they wouldnt be improved.

Newer characters and a few others I havent taken fitness on I wont bother.

Its really opened up power choices for me on the sub 20 characters.

    thanks!

Cathedral of Pain is a huge pain in the neck. Sure you can blitz it in 8 minutes, or you can just be tearing your hair out.
Rikti War Zone raid is great, fantastic execution there.

My concern is...I hope the rewards from these are tradeable/sellable on the Market or to other players. At the very least, if the rewards are Incarnate shards or Merits, make sure other avenues exist to obtain these shards.

The last thing this game needs is the raid treadmill, devolving into elitisim etc. etc...something which exists only in a small capacity in this game.
    I agree.

  18. You would be better off finding a mission that is a defeat all... trust and all that.

You should figure in deaths as well - part of tanking style that way is safety not just kill speed.

    Thats my 2 inf.

  21. Random rolls will always end up at the max of the recipe level.
The level slider only helps for picking the recipes that cap earlier than your level and/or for buying a recipe directly.
