I am 56 also.
I have met many others close to my age ingame.
I occasionally make social references to older trivia items that sail over most of the other players heads, but will result in tells from other people who lived through the older years who recognize the references.
______________
You have to be careful though, or those in jokes will backfire on you.
For example, years ago, I used to think it was funny to mention overhearing some kids talking,
and one said "Hey! Did you know know Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?"
That became much less funny a few years later when I told that, and one of the people there asked "Who is Wings?".

Quote:Looks like it bears repeating:not start from Zero in NA, I also bought all the packs

CO e.g.
If you like something, buy it.
If you don't like something, don't buy it.
You don't need to post here every time you are making a buying decision!
Have fun!
B'bye! if ya go.
Can I has your stuff?

Quote:HeyI play on european servers and COV is died there. Why I move my heroes on maps depopulated?
I've always bought everything but GR is unnecessary if positron not merge the server lists?
Congratulations on the cool post and all, but . . .
You are no UniqueDragon
The best answer is the CutNPaste one.
I'll leave that to someone else.
Bottom Line? . . .
If you like something, buy it.
If you don't like something, don't buy it.
You don't need to post here every time you are making a buying decision!

Quote:I am right with you for re-worked zones.Sorry, can't agree with that... more zones, more missions/arcs related to those zones, and more TFs/SFs are something I really would like to see. More reworked zones too, like Faultline.
Faultline is one of my favorites now.
Re-working zones does not lower the number-in-zone-number per zone ratio.
But there are many people who are hoping, no, demanding-as-their-right, as many or more zones as CoV added.
("But splutter, but . . . Its kind of a whole new game! Shouldn't we add as many or more zones than CoV did?!? ")
This, of course, gives you almost twice as many zones redside, as we have now.
THAT, of course, gives you the result of about HALF as many players per zone, redside, as we have now.
These same people would ask that we get more zones each issue.
Carried out to absurdity, we would eventually reach 1000s of zones, and reach a time when each of us could be in a zone alone.
While that would not really happen,
demanding doubled zones does cause half as many people per zone.
I will continue to consider that a silly thing to seek.

Level cap raise?
Still a resounding Nope!
A lot more zones?
I hope not. We really dont need to be thinned out with even fewer players per zone.
You still have questions?
Sitting on the edge of your seat?
Lying awake wondering what new shtuff we will get?
Great. They have you right where they want ya. . .
counting down the time till you will know. Spending your gaming thoughts on lots of CoX Antici . . . Pation!
Give us details soon?
Oh PLEASE NO.
As soon as details come out, then the DOOOOOOM whiners start to riot, and continue to do so till the thing gets released and they see "OH! It is not all that bad."
I can do without weeks or months of those riots.

Quote:Back in the old days, when debt used to hang around a little while,. . . Nothing annoys me more than a hesitant tank. Pretty much, if I'm on a character that has a 50% or so chance of taking the alpha and living, and the one who's supposed to be taking the alphas is being a slowpoke, I'm jumping in. Debt barely slows down levelling these days. It's just a little bar that measures how much awesome you've generated recently. (If you're not getting debt, you're just not trying to generate awesome hard enough.) . . .
I often had my BattleCry set to:
"If I ain't in debt . . . I ain't playin hard enough!"

Most of mine are inspiring and valorous!
BUT . . . a couple of my alts are a little more nervous.
BlastClown runs in screaming: "Not in the face !!!"
And ... (see my avatar)
Chocolate Bunny Guy . . yells: "No Biting !!"
(especially the ears!)

(ETA: reading back, I see others have used the same cry as BlastClown.)

Quote:Oh, YES. I hope so!When are we going to get GR news? a week before it goes into closed beta?
- DOOOOOOOOM whiners start rioting at the first release of new info about changes.
- They continue the riots, until it has gone live and they see it wasn't so bad.
- The further ahead the announcements come the longer we have to deal with the riots.
So, please YES! The later the better!

Quote:Epic fail there.Got to love those condescending cut-n-pastes! ...
You really have to ask what they are going to do to make a 50 better and in turn make people actually play their 50?. . .
You must not know Bill.
Not a condescending bone in his body.
One of the top few most helpful people on the forums.
And the cut-n-pastes?
They are clear, concise, comprehensive answers to people who either
- didn't search to find out the topic has already been more than thoroughly discussed before, or
- know that it has been discussed to death already, but think that they themselves, are important enough to start yet another thread on the subject.
CutNpastes do this efficiently, and well.
(And while the OP seems like a nice enough guy, He did admit at the start, that he knows we have already dealt with this particular dead horse "every few months".)

I have still been able to get them at BestBuy.
I have been getting the ones with the 30 day flight packs. ($5 extra)
You can still buy monthly time online at the Game store.
It applies instantly, and you can pay with Paypal now, as well as Credit card.

Quote:And that is the answer to Ultimus, who suggested full detail release.Looks like yet an another demonstration of how whatever the Lead Dev says, it'll always be misunderstood by someone. And there will be DRAMA!
No matter how good the news is that is released,
The more details, the more DoooomSayer riots,
from people who fear it till they actually see it.

Click the Export Now button.
That will put the build export into the Windows Clipboard. Press CTRL and V at the same time to paste it into your post. ...
- Unless you need to know that the clipboard is a storage spot that is part of the Windows system that is running.
- It contains the last thing you put into it, through one of several methods.
- When you mark something and do CTRL-C that thing goes into the clipboard.
- When you do the above Export command, the build is put into clipboard.
- When you place your cursor and do CTRL-V (as mentioned above) it pastes whatever is in the clipboard into the spot where your cursor is. (in this case, the character build)
Now ya know.

Quote:Cute....My first three characters are sisters, inherited their father's ability to fly and since Issue 14 often encounter each other in game (they always did in the off hours anyway, how do you know what they're doing when we're not logged in

But . . . Pics or it didn't happen.
Screenshot them together sometime.
No photoshop, etc.

Quote:Number one reason: Because the devs still never intend to let us do this.I know this has been brought up before, but my DOG. . . . Why hasn't our mail system been adjusted to do this yet?
There is slanted wording in your question PP, . . . like
Dang it! Why can't we just hit a button that levels us from 1 to 50 yet?
Or . . . Have you quit abusing your husband yet? (just yes or no answer)
- Your alts don't even know each other! They have never met. None of them have even been on at the same moment. Why would they send strangers money?
- Get a 2nd account, and activate it every few months when you build up a need to move the money around.
- Get a trusted friend, or SGmate to help you.
- Get married, and have your spouse play, and use that account to help you. (Oh wait . . . )
- Or just live with the things you cannot change.

I always assumed this is how it would work. To my knowledge, no MMO ever allowed a character to gain XP on an inactive account.

Quote:I have to agree that the best reason for any server mingling would be this EU/NA mix.Unless you happen to be on the wrong side of the EU/US divide of course. Which is why me wants it. I don't particularly want to choose just EU or US side (not paying subs for both thank you) and I'd love my hard paid for Vet attacks US side too, a cross divide serverless or semi-serverless enviroment would be a godsend.
On the other hand, I think it would be the least likely or last to actually be done, if it ever was.

Quote:THIS!. . . Personally, I like that Virtue is different from Freedom is different from Justice is different from Triumph, and I think consolidation is both a logistical nightmare and completely unnecessary. But temporary transfers so you could team on another server for a few hours or a weekend? Cross-server PvP? Those I'd be okay with.
Quote:Mirai_Teirusu is correct. it was a long time ago, but I think it was Posi that mentioned one day . . . .
.
I see no reason for all the work it would be. . .
I play with friends on ALL the servers regularly ALREADY.
Even easier to play with a friend on another alt on another server,
after the Super-SK goes into effect.
and less reason to actually take an alt to a different server. . . . just make a duplicate, and auto-sk to team with any friend you like!

agreed.
But they would buy the expansion to get the whole of both sides along with the 10-20 dollar older package they would apply it to.
That price is freely available all over.

Quote:Apology accepted.I apologize good sir. How dare I have my opinion on whats worth my money! I reserve the right to decide if it's worth it once we get more info. Comes with being a consumer.
And it looks like we are in agreement.
If it looks like it is worth the money to you, buy it.
If it looks like it is not worth it to you, do NOT buy it. (and then you can complain)
But don't try to have it both ways.
Don't buy it when it is not worth it, and then complain.
That would be irrational, and insincere.
Quote:... I just need more info before justifying spending 40 dollars on a boxed expansion. And it's gonna need more than whats announced if it wants to pull back in old players who left and also new players. As is I don't think many besides current players would buy it. I might be wrong, but thats how I feel.
The other point is my amusement when people say "I want TEN new zones!".
Yup. Exactly what we need....
Less players per zone because we are spread out even more places.
Yeah. Let's aim for that!
