I'm going to repost my opinion on Day Job badges from another thread.
It's not that they take a while to get that bothers me, it's that you get them for doing nothing. Wow, that's worthy of a reward. Badges should represent what you've done, not what you haven't done. Like the Master of Statesman's Task Force. That's a good badge; it takes work and effort, and once you've got it people can appreciate that you went the distance to earn that badge. Meanwhile, Day Job badges require you to do nothing. They say to you, "Go away for a month and we'll give you a badge." And the second you decide not to play a character you want to play because you want the progress on the Day Job badges, you're paying money to NCSoft to NOT play their game. How is that a good thing? I don't pay restaurants to not give me food, I don't pay a gym to not exercise there, and I shouldn't pay a video game company to not play their game.
I don't really have a problem with the other Day Job rewards, but I think the badges just take way too long to get. I don't think the requirements for one Day Job badge should be more than a week of time.

You are thinking of it in the wrong way. Don't think that you are doing little work for it, your characters are working their butt off to get some slight advantage. I find it rather funny that either our characters stand in the same place when we are logged off or do their own thing and then somehow get back to where we logged off. Day Jobs actually give our characters a life. They go to work, have lunch with their fellow heroes/villains, and go to sleep when they are finished for the day. My characters would try to hit me over the head, if I didn't give some time away from villainy and heroics. I wonder about some of them and think that when I log off my villains do extremely heroic acts and my heroes do extremely villainous acts. With day jobs, my characters are kept too busy to do such actions that are contrary to their normal behavior. -
Just post a PM to Lighthouse if this doesn't violate the EULA, but it would be impossible to enforce if it violates the EULA.

Perma-Hasten is a means to an end, not the end itself. It is useful in getting certain powers to be perma like Patron Pets, Eclipse, and other powers that require 230%+ recharge to be perma. It is far cheaper to get 70% Global recharge than to get 275% recharge in Hasten which needs a global recharge of 110% with 95% recharge SOs in Hasten.

The CoH Collector's Edition was $50 when it came out.
[/ QUOTE ]
I stand corrected. For the longest time I could only find it on Amazon.com and they had it for $80.
[ QUOTE ]
Actually some people paid upwards of $100 for some of the sprints.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wha..? In the after market? In Kabul? The retailers were selling it for $10 up front for the beta code and then pay $40 for the retail box when it came out.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would assume that the preorders for sprint going for $100 was before Issue 8 since you just need to play for a year to get them. Sure it cost only $10 and you got refunded for the actual game, but that was only at the start. Since it has been years since both preorders have been available, they are based on supply and demand instead of being preorders. The helmets are a cool feature limited to only a select few players and you can become one of the select few for $200. How different is the marked up price of preorders compared to when XBox 360s and Wiis first appeared and people were selling them for twice what they were worth. Fortunately, I got my Hero Gear Kit for the Power Slide instead of wasting an extra $60 for it.
Due to the ability to get Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff, and Black Wand, future characters will be Natural Origin to get the added buff for the Staff and Wand. Just wish I could respec out of the axe for my characters that have it. Found it useful as a situational tool, but Sands of Mu is useful most of the time. -

Badgers might not want anything to do with PvP, but that doesn't mean anyone else in the SG isn't interested in PvP. Anyway I used the SG Healing badges as an excuse for my villain badger, but I used a healing farm using twilight grasp, ninjas, and a CoT pain crystal.

The Longbow Warden 2 gladiator given by the Disruptor badge allows various SGs to get the SG Healing badges. The SG Healing badges give various equipment that is useful for raids. The first SG Healing badge allows blues and greens to be purchaseable during a raid. The 2nd SG Healing badge makes available a piece of base equipment available that allows people that died in the raid to have more HP. The 3rd SG Healing badge allows break frees to be purchased during a base raid. Not all SGs have "healers" to obtain these badges normally and the disruptor badge makes it possible. Of course, Heroes have the Archmage of Agony glad to accomplish the same task as the Longbow Warden 2, but villains don't have such a gladiator.
There are also people that are inflicted with Pokemon Syndrome and most serious badgers have this particular condition to various degrees. -
I know that all rare recipes are found in all pools. What I am wondering is if uncommon recipes are found in any other pool beside pool A. We would only have to focus on rare recipes instead of all recipes if uncommon recipes are only found in pool A.
-
Is there any evidence that uncommon recipes are all in pool A and rare recipes are in all pools? If so, then that would save time. Only rare recipes would need to be determined.

Rep is meaningless in the game besides the badges associated with them. If there was some value to rep like WoW's rep, then this thread would be broadcasting a serious exploit. Since rep is useless, then rep farming is only a minor problem to the GMs. The rep timer is fixed and changing it will cause some problems to PvPers that care about rep.
I actually wonder if some of the devs find amusement in the way players get around some of the game mechanics. They announce jokingly that they don't like this activity and make a "fix" to see the players squirm. If I was a dev, then thats what I would do to get some fun. -

Will heroes get Heat Seeker (Arachnos Flier GM badge) before villains get Heat Seeker or is the Arachnos Flier attackable?
[/ QUOTE ]
Latest patch on Test suggests villains will be getting a working Flier soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
We had a previous patch stating the exact same thing. So I won't believe villains get Arachnos Flier until someone sees it on live with a decent spawn rate. Doctor Aeon could help the hero team to program the Flier to take down Recluse. There is nothing in the press release stating that you have to take down Aeon and Flier, just that they play a key role. If you can take down the Flier in the Stateman's TF, then heroes will have an easier time taking down a GM that has caused villains lots of trouble. -
Will heroes get Heat Seeker (Arachnos Flier GM badge) before villains get Heat Seeker or is the Arachnos Flier attackable?
-
So slotting the 10% Def and Resist Buff into each henchmen will give 30% Def and Resist Buff to all henchmen?
-
That would be interesting. Recluse gives a portal mission to invade World of Warcraft. Also a cross MMO PvP server would be extremely interesting.
-
Can you imagine how powerful the pocket d temp power would be for pvp if it had a reasonable activation time. It would make all escape powers pale in comparison.
I think the main reason I will get GvE is for the jumpjet if it has the height potential of Superjump. Superspeeding in Faultline is too annoying without it. -
CoP is Cathedral of Pain, a SG Trial/SF that gives an Item of Power for completing it. Items of Power are SG items that give a bonus to all the SG members for having it. Like 1% damage increase or 1% debt reduction. Shrouded for some reason was being awarded on the same map that defeat night star was using it and that was why villains were getting it.
-
All trials/SF give a badge after completing them. The devs have said that they will no longer make getting to level 50 a requirement for getting any more Epic ATs. Most Future Epic ATs will probably be awarded through a trial/SF. The servers need a way to track who has earned an Epic AT. Therefore, badges are the easiest way to track down who can access an Epic AT.
-
Problem with CoT pain crystals is that you can't have +HP accolades for it to be effective. Before I got High Pain Threshold used pain crystals to achieve 5th Healing Badge and 4th Damage Badge. Tried pain crystal while in rest and achieved same DoT as standing in pain crystal. Pain crystals don't leave anything in the combat tab to be tracked so Herostats won't work to find damage/hour.

For last mission I suggest someone with concealment powers to spawn Bat'Zul by clicking on the altars and watch the fight. Had Infernal defeated and Bat'Zul down to 3/4 HP. Got experience for getting Bat'Zul to kill Infernal. Great fun to watch Heroes and AVs go at it. As well as only have to deal with one AV instead of an AV and a hero.

How
In a CoT Temple mission, find a red crystal and evaluate its usefulness based upon the level of the minions and terrain around it. Then eliminate the annoying enemies first (earth thorn casters, nerva spectral daemon lords, succubuses, hellfrosts, etc.) located at crystal. Leave one or two enemies that are only damage dealers. Set henchmen to passive. Target one of remaining enemies and make twilight grasp your auto-attack. By control+left-click on twilight grasp. Head into red crystal's range and have henchmen goto your location or summon henchmen to your location and set them on passive. Sometimes enemy likes to run away from red crystal, but most enemies usually stay nearby. Fire Thorn Casters like to stay in one spot and attack with their long range attack. Wait for a few days for healing badges and damage taken badges to come in.
Why
There are only two reasons why anyone would be willing to do a healing farm. The reason for the one-man healing farm is that not everyone wants to spend a few days to help you work on healing farms.
1) You are a badge freak and want to get as many badges as possible.
2) You belong to a SG that has few healers. In order to gain the first two SG healing badges, one person can get them in about a week's time or less depending on their level.
Personally, I did it for the second reason and so I wouldn't play any CoV during exam week.
Damage Badges:
1st: 100k
2nd: 500k
3rd: 1 mill
4th: 10 mill
5th: 100 mill
6th: 500 mill
7th: 1 bill
Healing Badges:
1st: 250k
2nd: 500k
3rd: 1 mill
4th: 10 mill
5th: 50 mill
6th: 1 bill
Using healing farm I obtained first 4 Damage Badges and first 5 Healing Badges. Any more that is considered insane, even by my standards. -
Actually this setup is used for getting the healing badges, especially for the SG healing badges. When I ran healing farm at level 30 in about a weeks time I got 4 Healing Badges and 4 Damage Taken Badges. With the 5th Healing Badge at 1/2 way to completion.
There are far faster ways to get the damage taken badges than just standing in a pain crystal. Although if you could somehow get pushed into a pain crystal while resting, then that would certain be a fast way to do the damage taken badges.
