I've seen it speculated in quite a few threads now that we are expecting Going Rogue to be released in conjunction with Issue 16. Could someone recap for me why we think issue 16 (guessing that might be released October give or take a week), and not issue 17 (possible Feb - Mar. 2010)? Just wondering if its just us wishing for it or if i've just missed a lot of clues.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe the general thought is that releasing Going Rogue in October would be a good idea, since Champions Online is planning to launch in September. -
I once used "afk wife aggro", which was true. Well, my wife saw me type that and asked, "What did you just tell them about me?!?!" I explained to her, performed my "honeydo" task and went back to the game.
When I got back I typed, "Oh man, my wife saw the 'afk wife aggro' I typed earlier, and asked me what it meant. I was afraid she'd get mad if I told her what it meant, so thinking fast I just told her it means she's fat. Whew, dodged a bullet on that one!"
There was much LOLing in team chat. -

For Bruce Wayne/Batman the normal man is the true nature and the hero is the affectation while for Clark Kent/Superman the normal man is the act and the hero persona is his true self.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've always seen it as just the opposite. At least, that's how the DCAU characterizes them, so that's good enough for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd even go s far and say there is NO normal man with Batman. There is only Batman and the disguises Batman wears. Bruce Wayne is one of these. If needed, Batman can shed the Bruce Wayne character, but he can't stop being Batman. I think there was a story arc where Bruce Wayne was wanted, so Batman shed the Bruce Wayne disguise until he could clear its name.
Clark Kent is an idealist raised in the country. He's an honest and helpful man. Who, by the way, is from the plant Krypton and can benchpress continents. But he's still an honest and helpful man. With that kind of power, he became Superman. What he thinks a true hero should be. Superman is an idealistic boyscout, because that's how Clark sees the ideal hero, and he has the power to act on that ideal. If he needed to, Clark could stop being Superman and settle down quietly. But as long as Superman is needed, he'll keep up the act.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to agree with Bruce Wayne being Batman's disguise. There is a Batman Beyond episode titled "Shriek", where the main bad guy (Shriek, of course) is an acoustic engineer and uses focused sound waves to demolish things. Bruce Wayne is injured in one of Shriek's attacks, and is hospitalized. While Bruce in the hospital Shriek bribes a nurse to put a tiny transmitter in the bandages on Bruce's head, and Shriek then proceeds to try to make Bruce think he is crazy...hearing voices. The voices (Shriek) say things like "Bruce, you should just give up." "Jump out the window Bruce." After the plot is discovered and Shriek defeated, this exchange occurs between Bruce and Terry (paraphrased):
Bruce: I knew I wasn't crazy. The voices kept calling me 'Bruce'. When I talk to myself in my head, I don't call myself 'Bruce'.
Terry: Oh? So what do you call yourself.
Bruce: ...
Terry: Oh, right.
So, in his own head Bruce Wayne doesn't say, "Come on Bruce, keep it together!", he says "Come on Batman, keep it together!" -

This "exiting themission door" thing also happens with the Mission Transporter power from the Cyborg pack. When you port to the mission you don't appear like a normal teleport, but the mission door opens and you run out. -
Every time I use the power I just blow up. I thought it was supposed to make me drink too much, do drugs, sleep with unsavory women and invest my money in shady schemes.
What gives? -
It's Issue 15, so I'm going with the 15th day of the 15th month of the 15th year:

With Ouroboros, AE, sidekicking, and exempting - you can do everything on one character. Okay, one character per side (red/blue).
Having more than one character takes up server resources and ties up valuable hero names that others cannot take. This is an RPG - and your character is very important. When a new player finds out they can't get the name they want - they quit. You have cost CoX one new player for every alt you have. That's a lot of money for development your selfishness has cost all of us.
And you can only play one character at a time (if you have multiple accounts - one per account). So having more than one is just a waste.
And when you play alts you aren't connected to your main. It is an RPG - you can only have fun from the satisfaction that comes from truly knowing and inhabiting your character. You can't possibly have fun having alts - so why have them (I know, I tried it out and hated it)?
Alts fill up supergroups. The devs have had to waste time making SGs larger so that selfish people could have alts.
And alts make it hard for everyone else to have fun. I see somebody on and make a friend. Later they aren't on. Maybe they are - but on an alt. I don't know. It just looks like my new friend is missing. Alts kills friendships and community - and everyone knows that community is what keeps MMO's alive.
I call upon the devs to solve this problem that is driving away new players, giving existing players ennui and making them quit. Reduce all accounts to 1 character redside and 1 character blueside. Stop selfishness from ruining my game.

Sister Psychic, by Smash Mouth
This is the only thing I could find for you to hear the song.
I know the title is Sister Psychic, but when the words are sung it totally sounds like Sister Psyche. -

Also, if you level up in the AE, you'll miss a lot of badges and the accolade powers that come with them. You'll miss opening up Ouroboros and the Midnight Club and unlocking hidden contacts (redside) and TFs (blueside).

ProTip for getting Oro without leaving the MA building:
"hey, can someone drop an Oro portal for me?"
Hop through and get the badge.

But after you leave Ouroboros, you won't be in the AE building anymore. Then you'll have to, like, travel back to it. That's tooooooo haaaaaaaaard.

Dang, hadn't thought of that!

I've been playing CoX for 27 months now, and I have a grand total of ONE (1) level 50 character. In the OP's hypothetical CoX 2, I would get to have exactly ONE (1) character. To have any more, I would have to level another character to 50 in the original CoX to have a second character in CoX 2. I would not ever, ever buy this game.
Bad idea is VERY bad. -

My 8-year-old son plays occasionally. Mostly all he does is make up a new character and play it through Outbreak/Breakout (or not, he'll log off in the middle of the tutorial).
When I first let him play with me, he would actually team with me and run missions and such. Then one day he and I teamed with some of my friends and SKd up to their level. I think my son got frightened by the Freakshow (he was 7 then). He wasn't prepared for them, and I think he got into a place where his back was to a wall so the camera zoomed in to full-screen. Then a huge, spike-covered cyborg with an evil scowl on its face ran up and hit him.
Now when he's naughty I tell him to straighten up or I'll give him to the Freakshow!
Just kidding.
Or am I....? -

That's Hero 1's job (the new story bible guy). He just had a baby, so he should be a sucker for these questions...
Okay, Hero 1 (if you do vanity searches for your name like the other Devs, you'll see this), would you please answer the child's questions? If you can't, then she can rightfully claim your job.

Actually you could be onto something here. Every company should have a couple kids in the office for meetings. Kids have a great talent for grasping those little logical loopholes and just ASKING the question. It could be a whole new management style!

I've lived in Austin all my life. I've never been to Freebird's. I keep meaning to try it at some point, but never have. Usually if I'm in the mood for Tex-Mex I go to Trudy's.
[/ QUOTE ]
IMHO, Trudy's is overrated. They used to be good back in the day, and the food is still OK, but since they became uber-popular it's just not as good anymore. I'll take Amaya's or Arandas over Trudy's any day.
