Quote:I like the name of this one, linked from that site:I'm surprised no one has linked to this site yet.
Check it out, there's some cool stuff in there that might answer some of your questions.
Superheroes Anonymous
"Hello, my name's Jason Todd and I'm a recovering superhero." -
I did this same thing with my MA/SR scrapper. Quickness + Sprint + Swift + Hurdle = travel power. I can move pretty quickly, use the Jump Jet or Raptor Pack for a second or two to go over obstacles, and I'm almost never the last to the mission. I made it to 50 and still have over an hour left on each of the Raptor and 0-G packs.
One thing that CO did that I would like to see in CoH is having civilians run up to you on the street and offer a mission, such as , "I just saw some guys robbing that jewelry store. Can you help?" I though it was a great mix of open-world and instanced. It provides an interesting departure from street sweeping while not being an open-world mission where you have to compete with other players to complete the mission. -
I was using my super powers to foil a bank robbery the other day, and I thought, "Wow, this is just like City of Heroes!"

The closest thing I have to a canon character is:
Confusionette, a Mental/Mental blaster. She looks EXACTLY like Fusionette, except her costume is pink. Her entire bio reads, "Fusionette is, like, my favorite superhero, like, ever!" -

I put the lotion in
I send the basket down
It doesn't put it on
And that makes me want to frown.
I turn the water on
and it gets the hose again.
That's what it's all about -
Such a system could be gamed (pun intended) in so many ways it's not even funny.

1) Not yet, but we will have this next month-ish when Issue 17 comes out.
2) Not sure there is a Tank that doesn't depend on toggles to some degree.
3) Start your own teams. Sorry if that sounds trite, but really that's the best way to get the kind of teaming experience you want.
4) I see controllers all the time. Note that the Dual Pistols power set just became available (with a pre-order of Going Rogue). It's the new shiny, and it's not available for controllers or scrappers. Also, your observations could be correct, but just be a fluke of timing - i.e., nobody was playing their controllers or scrappers in the times you've been on. -
Quote:Blasters are loads of fun, IMHO. My first character (and first 50) is a blaster. The thing to remember about blasters is they are squishy - that is, they have no or at most very low defenses and not a huge amount of hit points, so they can die easily. Their defense is a good offense...a downed bad guy won't hurt you.my buddy I work with bought the game as well. I think we are going to make new characters on virtue since it's more populated. We will prob play hero side. How is the blaster? I think I'll like a playing style like that better I'm not a big fan of hand 2 hand combat.

Hey welcome back A_C! How's the world of higher edumacation treating you?

I love collecting the temp summon powers (Clockwork Connection, Build Snowbeast, Loa Bone, Coral Amulet, Summoning Amulet, etc.), saving them all until I have several, then busting them all out at once for grins. I once did this on a 40-something MM...I had like 12+ pets following me around for a while. It was hilarious.

First off, spiders are arachnids. Arachnids <> Insects.
I love spiders. One of my favorites is called a Spinybacked Orbweaver. It has a chitinous shell on its back, and the patterns on the shell often look like a skull's face. Here's a pic:
They aren't that big; the largest one I've ever seen was about 1/2 inch across. The white parts can also be colored red, orange or yellow. They're really cool, I usually find a few around my back yard every summer. They make large webs, sometimes up to 4 feet across. I always leave them be. -

I like pie AND cake!
- intelligence
- attractiveness
- girth
- place of residence (specifically, parent's basement)
- means of nutrition (e.g., Cheetos and Mountain Dew)
- lack of non-allegiance to political party that ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945.
- parentage and/or ancestry
Final statement indicating this poster is close personal friends with someone at Cryptic Studios and is going to get quoted poster banned from the game.
*Painfully obvious attempt to edit out Cryptic Studios and replace it with Paragon Studios, but it is too late because this part has already been quoted two posts down. And this poster doesn't know how to not show the "Last edited by... stamp at the bottom of the post.* -

Quick reply that clearly indicates this poster has not read the entire thread, nor even the entire OP.
Yet another reiteration of points that have been made several times already.
Comment that is intended to be witty, but really is just offensive.
Insinuation that OP likes to kick and/or eat puppies.
Vaguely racist comment.
Statement that re-Godwin's thread.
Declaration that if this poster is banned, it only proves his point...if anyone can figure out what that point is. -
Heh, I love that the statue has a game controller for "coverage". Nice touch.

For me it has to be repetitive content, specifically mission maps. Even with MA giving us a boatload of stories ranging from decent to excellent, they are all on the same maps that have been in the game for years. The spawn points are the same. Most maps I can almost run with my eyes closed at this point.
Travel power suppression. I HATE this mechanic. HATE. IT.
Related to the last item, rooting while activating powers. I'd love to see this pretty much done away with, with the exception of a few powers (e.g., snipes, Tier 9 powers, etc.). -
In the past I played a game that open-world, always-on PvP - Ulitma Online. I HATED it. Ganking and griefers were rampant. Your corpse could be looted of all its items, so that meant fo me at least that I never took my best equipment with me, ever, because I didn't want to lose it to a ganker/griefer. Which made the game even more frustrating because what's the point of having cool stuff if you can never use it. I almost quit the game because of it, but they added a PvP flag so one could opt out.
If open-world PvP were added to this game I would probably leave, even if there were an opt-out flag. -
This thread makes me happier than e e cummings at a punctuation festival!

Quote:Nope, not an urban legend. Now that is one crazy story, going to copy and paste to email to a few friends who will get a kick out of it... Also, wasn't there a guy who actually died from playing to much WoW or was that a urban legend?
