While I always get a chuckle out of J_B's posts, I think I'll actually respond to the original post.
I will be bringing my Axe/WP brute blue-side when I can. He's fashioned after a barbarian from Cimmeria (Straight out of the Conan stories), and the Rogue Isles don't fit with his code of honor. He is NO ONE'S lackey. However, I'll be advertising myself as more of a DPS than Aggro Management, and would go so far as to say that Tanks will royally ruin his game because of their ability to squash a fury bar.
And, from all the time spent in the RWZ and Cimerrora, I've never heard anyone say, "Get a brute instead of a tank, they're better." But, I have heard people say, "We don't need that brute, I'll just grab my tank." That speaks volumes, I think, about where tanks stand in relation to brutes. -
Yes, and this will auto-sk/exemp anyone to that level in that mission.

The self righteousness of this thread goes over the top even for these boards.
The solution if you have "City of Farming Angst" is to realize the problem lies with you and get over it.

It's not often that I agree with Another_Fan, as we don't really see eye-to-eye on much.
But this is a quote I'd get tattooed on my [censored] because of its truth. That should REALLY say something. -
Not in the last mish I created. We had members around the mid 30's, some in the upper 20's, and some in the teens. They were all their normal levels in the mish.
Hence, why I asked the question. -
Ok, I give up on trying to find a button, and couldn't turn anything helpful up in Search.
So how do I make my mission auto-sk? I'm making an arc for my SG, so all levels can run it. Can anyone help me out?
It's all custom critters, though, if that makes any difference. -
I wouldn't say quite so much about gaining levels so quickly, unless you want that to be changed.
However, being auto SK/LK'd to the level of the mission is an AE exclusive thing. -
yeah, I had Claws/Ninjutsu critters in one of my missions. One-shot, ever came out of hide. The only time I ever saw them was when I damaged them with my lightning field. Then they 2-shot me if I didn't hold them or sap them first.

Yeah, Magician is Numina.
The Sun looks like the CoH skyline symbol with sunbeams radiating outwards, or the Cryptic logo -

I was in a mission about gnomes where almost every piece of text (intro, mission accept, completion, etc) was just the word "Yeah!". For some reason after a while this struck me as incredibly funny, and the evil custom garden gnomes looked really cool, so I stuck it out to the end.
Somehow I resisted sending "Yeah!" as feedback.

Yeah! This!
Yeah! -
just be cautious, not everyone has a supergroup to be named.
-
My custom villain group is a bit of an unlikely combo that hurts.
Three levels of flying range fighters (like Neuron and Anti-matter)
Elec Blast/Elec Armor minions
NRG blast/NRG Aura LTs
Rad Blast/Rad Emission bosses
And three levels of melee
MA/SR (I think) Minions
MA/NRG Melee (I think) LTs
Claws/Ninjutsu Bosses
I play an elec^3 blaster, and I typically sap my enemies first. The melee-ers are no problem to sap (which is why i can't recall their powers off-hand) but when the minions of the elec persuation go after me, I can't sap them, and they start sapping me. When they do, the MA guys stack their stuns on me. if not for the fact that I'm a blaster, I'd be totally helpless.
It's exciting, really. But, I imagine that I'll be getting 1-starred left and right because of it. -
Well, I've totally been wanting to start a couple of arcs based on "The Tick" style heroes and villains.
-
I don't think we can have something where the ally has to die to complete the mish, or you have to die.
I also don't think we can have an ally betray you mid-mission.
Also, no cinematic scenes, I think. -

Not greedy. Just in the vein of "make an exception for my concern" when that's exactly what they didn't want to do. If they open the door for one, that will just lead to everyone else wanting it. Better to just leave it as is.

I think what the OP is doing is providing feedback and asking a question. That IS what this forum is for, isn't it? They aren't asking for everything opened up, just the healing badge which is EASILY the hardest badge to get. -

Someone had blabbed a strategy somewhat like this on Freedumb a few nights ago. I had been buying recipes that were going for a pittance and selling them for quite a while. But only a few here and there. Buy a lvl 30 for 500 or so, turn around and resell to the shop for 3k-8k.
After that night however, well let's just say that isn't going to work anymore.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then why does it still work? Wentworth's crosses all servers. The market is from every hero server in the game. So, if I can still do it on Victory, then I can also do it on Freedumb.
Also, this strategy does NOT endanger the presence of Common IO recipes on WW's even remotely.
Re-read what it says to do. You buy for LESS than the vendor will give you. And you buy low enough for the profit to be worth the time invested.
So IO recipes that are close to or higher than the vendor prices (i.e. people who want to make more than what the vendor will give them, or provide recipes for people willing to pay what the vendor would pay) would still be on the market. Meanwhile, people too lazy to find a vendor will just dump them on WW's with a dinky price tag, just to get rid of them. THOSE are the ones this strategy says to buy up.
Also, I'll say the same thing I say to people who complain about flippers, just pay more than the marketeers are paying, and you'll get the buying preference.
There are three strategies to marketeering:
1) Be cheap and impatient, and not get anything
2) Use the 0 key as a "Buy it now" button
3) Be patient and smart, make inf on the system and come out ahead.
You can do 1 and 2, I'll stick with 3. -
This was an incredible read. I'm currently attending college as a business/marketing major. This sort of project is very interesting to me (though I never once in my life thought it would be). I would love to learn more about this, if it's possible.
I've a couple of lvl 50's on Victory, but certainly wouldn't mind rolling up a new toon to try this out. I'm a somewhat casual player, getting in about 3-4 hours a night, and maybe an hour in the mornings (if possible) on the East Coast.
Keep, if you have any advice, I'd be very much inclined to hear it. -
5 issues later, Elec's Ancillary pool has another power. I forget the name off-hand, but it's the Tier 9 power from Elec Brutes on CoV.
It turns you into an avatar of electricity, SERIOUSLY pumps up your resistances and such. Seems like the perfect addition to the Blaptroller arsenal, especially as a panic button.
Perhaps a new guide could be written with updated info for IO sets, power changes and additions.
Also, is that Elec SG still active? -

Yes, you are correct. Safeguards and the temp-travel-packs are important.
The sad part is that contacts point new players to the Hollows before they get to meet the detectives in King's Row. It's rather different in CoV -- the moment you leave mercy, the only way you'll gain a contact is to do Newspaper missions and rob the bank.
I'm still hoping that they change the way the contacts work. Introduce us to the King's Row detectives *first* ... then point us to the Hollows.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, you're right about that. Usually, when I build a sewers team, I make it clear that we stick to the sewers until everyone's at least lvl 6, then we hit KR for the bank mish, THEN we can do Hollows. Most people follow that order of events, and those who don't, we run into later trying to PUG, only now we're two lvls higher and have travel powers. But, they wanted to hit the hollows faster.
I will say that there were times where I did have to stop doing the Frostfire story arc simply because the baddies jump up in lvl dramatically, and I have to street-hunt to compete, and it does irk me a bit when I out-level the missions, but usually, after Frostfire, I leave the zone, never to return. I've never done Julius the Troll past the first mish because I've always been too high to get any decent xp, and it becomes time for me to go to Steel Canyon.
I can't imagine it'd be very hard, though, to re-work the Atlas Park contacts to send you to Detective Frietag or Detective Smiley-guy, and have Wincott as one of the contacts that they give you after the first bank. That right there would go a long way to improving the hollows, and the work doesn't even happen IN the hollows. Just my thoughts, though. -
Yeah, hell playing villains just flat-out depresses me. I don't have one above lvl 8. The people I get missions from make me feel like crap, and don't do much for the self-esteem at all. I got enough of that from High-School. It's also a little weird for me being shot at by people "on the same side", i.e. other Arachnos. I know about the whole rival factions, thing, but they don't even ask me. They're just like, "Hey, you arachnos too? B-ZZOTTT!!!"
Doesn't inspire confidence in the organization at all. -
I just took hover, the first time, and floated over there. Then, on my way, I got up, made a sandwich, folded my laundry, came back to the computer, and guided my way to the door for the second half of my sluggish flight.
Honestly, anyone who says navigating the Hollows is too hard for low lvl heroes is simply doing it wrong. I'm not sure they should get rewarded for doing so.
As for fixing Boomtown within the next three issues, that'd give them... 15 issues to ignore something that sucked and was ignored by players and devs since it started? I'm sure it will get fixed by I15, but my question is, why did it take that long?
