Creating Level Restrictions for Custom Enemy Group

Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to the game, and have just gotten into creating my own arcs. I have come across a problem that has me a little confused though.

In creating the store, I created a custom enemy group, but they are always showing that they range from level 1-54. Is there a way to set their level, or to set the level of the enemies in an arc?

I have a feeling this is something small that I am missing, but any assistance would be appreciated.

Custom characters are always 1-54. To restrict it, you have to add a mob that IS level restricted, from the "regular" game.

EDIT: Doh! Yes, pointed out later in the thread...to the mission, not the group.

This will not restrict the level of the custom group. It will just cause that mob to be added to the spawns during the levels that mob can appear. If you create a custom group with just regular mobs in it, like all of the CoT minions from level 20-40, then that custom group will only cover levels 20-40. If there is even 1 custom critter in that custom group, the group will have a level range from 1-54, but the CoT will only spawn from 20-40. All other spawns at other levels will be that custom critter.

If you want a mission to only cover a particular range of levels, there needs to be something in the mission that is limited to appearing in those levels. It can be a patrol, an ambush, a boss, a hostage, or an ally. If you use Flower Knight as an ally or hostage or boss in a mission, the mission will spawn at level 1. Which can be a surprise if you are not expecting it.

I am sure that is what he meant. But what he said could easily be read to apply to the custom group, rather than the mission, and with the number of people asking this question, it is better to be as explicit as possible.

I've noticed when looking at storyarc files with Notepad, each mission has these two entries:

MinLevel 1
MaxLevel 54

I'm only using custom critters in that arc, so I get the full range. Suppose if you were to change it to:

MinLevel 20
MaxLevel 40

Would that have an effect to force level ranges? Can't get ingame right now to check myself...

Correct. What I said was technically incorrectly worded, but for all practical purposes does what the OP was asking for. Sometimes it's better to apply KISS principle to answering questions rather than get bogged down in tech detail. . I could have been clearer and added "to the mission", though. Sometimes I miss stuff like that posting on the fly (EDIT function shall always be my BFF).
