Strike Force vs. Task force and Auto Leveling
Technically, you were in an AE arc. Strike Force is just the villain-side name for a Task Force. While AE arcs resemble TF/SFs in many ways, there are many differences as well. And the "auto-sk" thing is exclusive to AE.
Dec out.
I wouldn't say quite so much about gaining levels so quickly, unless you want that to be changed.
However, being auto SK/LK'd to the level of the mission is an AE exclusive thing.

"Task Force" versus "Strike Force" - they're the same thing, really. It's just like heroes call their minions "sidekicks" and villains call them "lackeys".
AE missions aren't really quite the same as Task/Strike Forces; and yes, automagically raising your level only takes place in AE. Real Task/Strike Forces require you to be a certain level to start them, and will level anyone above their level range down, but will never raise anyone's level up... except the old fashioned way.
Real Task/Strike Forces give different rewards as well - "merits" instead of "tickets", which is a whole 'nother discussion...

He's probably a buffing corruptor. It's no different from inviting a buff caster to a normal T/SF if they're at the minimum level, and letting them just cast their buffs, hang out in the back and bathe in the XP.

You do realize the devs are data mining all things MA, things will be adjusted. Ive already seen a bunch of tweaks/exploits fixed. Id expect many more changes over the next few months as well.
To nerf that, they'd have to change the whole SK'ing system, or just not allow characters into missions if they're not the minimum level (like with TF's now).
Along these lines, has anyone posted the one-paragraph mini-guide that tells us how to *reliably* get the MA level auto-adjust to work for teams? (Yes, I did search around, but didn't find anything. Apologies if I missed it.) I don't know how many times lately I've been invited to MA mish teams, and we end up star-swapping, quitting and reinviting, etc. because missions aren't adjusting the team to the right level.
I'm sure there's a repeatable order in which you do things, but every team I've been on hasn't quite figured it out.

Thanks for that, CC. So are you saying that the success of this process is completely mission-dependent, meaning:
1) it will only work if the mission is properly built to allow it;
2) no amount of team-wrangling (i.e. star must be highest lvl; no star passing to highest lvl after invites, etc.) can "turn on" this feature.
So if a group jumps into a standard, non-tweaked (1-54) mission, the mission level will be locked at the star's level, no auto-adjusting will occur, and the team will have to deal with level differences the old-fashioned way (sidekicking, exemplaring). Is that accurate?

Question: Was on CoV last night and got invited to a Strike Force team. This was a AE SF. So, going into the mish, I clicked on the villains and to my surprise they were all 50's! I then put the call out for a SK as my level 19 Corruptor didn't stand a chance in hell. The lead then said that the AE SF will auto level those below the villains. I got bumped up to a 45 automatically. Now the cool thing then was I started leveling like a drunken sailor. Before the SF was over, I moved up 3 levels just like that! I also overheard other team members saying how much they jumped some of their toons in levels while doing some of these AE mish'es.
So, with that being said, is this "auto bump" in levels new to CoX and only exclusive in AE mish'es?
And second question: I know that some TF's can extend several mish'es together to complete the story arc but what does a Strike Force do? Is this similar to a TF but the length of the mish'es is smaller? Thanks in advance to all who reply.
