I get that the wearing out of enhancements was supposed to be an inf sync, but it's not like people won't replace a +10% with a +15% when they get a chance anyway. Your'e correct, stores should just sell unexpiring enhancements that do not involve crafting. The end.

Quote:The boosters add 5% to the enhancement numbers on an enhancement. I have seen no effect on procs or specials. A 30+ IO would give larger bonuses than a 31 IO. The plusses function in no way like an increase in level.
Is there a difference between a 30+ and a 31 IO?
Quote:I mean can a level 27 slot a 30+ IO or would they have to be level 28?
Quote:And what's with the patch notes saying they can't be removed from base storage? -
Several people have mentioned running hero/villain tips for the merits, but you also get drops with those. In the past week of running just tips on one character (0/X6), I have gotten 5 purple recipes. That was a bit of a streak, since I hadn't gotten one in a month, but it was still a nice windfall.
Most of them I sold. Purple recipes are good if you're going for perma-dom. It's good on some fast recharge builds. But they give no defense. They aren't always useful for making any particular character the best they can be. And for the selling price of 2 of those purples, I could make an insane build for 3-4 level 50 characters - and even counting my month with no purple drops, I can't level characters to 50 that fast.
You certainly need cash to build characters, but you don't need all the highest priced stuff to build very good characters. One of my friends is one of those people obsessed with chasing the biggest stuff available, and he just put a full numina set (4 pieces of which I gave him) in HA on an emp (he pretty much gave up on the panacea). I have 5 Doctored Wounds in mine. Not only was mine 1/10 the price of his, but I'll let you guess which one plays better. -
No. The booster does not change the level of the enhancement.

Quote:Cletus, git them hens back in the hen house. That sound effect is good and well for Brawl, but for Flurry, Sands of Mu and Shadow Maul, I propose a slight change.

One accuracy and 5 of these in my tier 1 pets is hilarious.
So, just to be clear, once I hit 21, no need to keep these around for exemplaring purposes? -
Those aren't real numbers. They are faking server load in order to make the servers sort differently. It's the workaround for the scroll bar bug.

Yea, assuming that the costume bundle would contain the costume parts isn't a huge leap. Separating auras from other costume pieces is arbitrary at best, and you cannot fault someone for not reaching the conclusion that they would draw that particular line.

Quote:Because enhancements can already be stored in bases in blocks of 100. Recipes take up either recipe inventory, auction slots, or mail slots - all much more limited than the thousand enhancements I can currently store. How is it more useful than 5 enhancements? Recipes can be converted into enhancements. If anything, enhancements are more valuable, because they contain the value of the salvage and crafting cost as well, and often sell for even more than the sum of it all on the market.

I've got a stack of cash in front of me and a toilet 2 rooms over if that desire ever strikes me.

Popped down the $100 to get to t9, and then bought everything I wanted. Still have all of the $100 and 400 freebie points and 2 reward tokens.
They need some better stuff on the market so I can spend these piles of points. -
But 5 recipes is actually useful.

I think what people are missing is that the enhancement slots are being priced as a way to pull more enhancements out on a respec. They have said that they would never allow that and that 10 was already being generous.
This isn't a purchase to make if you want to avoid running to the stores for a little longer, it's for people who have 5 purple sets and a pile of LotGs to pull out of a 50 before they delete him. 10 more enhancement slots might equal 3-4 repects which themselves would cost $10 each.
Would I ever buy 10 slots? **** no. But there are people for whom it is a good deal, so it's priced for those people. -
The rearranged the buyable enhancements, so now if you are looking to buy something specific, you need to know the max level of the set. Why is that a useful piece of information? Wouldn't lowest level of set be better because then you could be sure to only look at things you can use now? How about set type - like in the market - so you can quickly look at options for the powers you actually have.
For organization, it seems odd to pick one of the more insignificant aspects of the sets and to organize by that.
As for the pricing, I bought my way to t9, and I expect that will last me until this game no longer exists. I bought beam weapon and a costume piece (thinking of buying a second piece, but still not sure), and I don't really want anything else in the store.
Vault storage is a perfect example. I have probably 30-40 completely empty vaults, because getting stuff from vaults to move between characters is annoying - it's easier just to use the market. Give me a 20 space shared vault that holds recipes and I will buy it just to avoid the mediocre mail system, but getting more of something that is already of limited use is not a tempting deal. -
I tried cheating last night and buying myself up to t9 before they added to points to see if it would knock me to 550 for each month. I got 1600 also. It doesn't match the 1200 I was expecting or the 1650 I was hoping for. I'm fine with the number, but I can't claim to understand it.

Quote:A. You get tokens when you buy points (1200 I think). So the Reward Tokens I get each month can be used to purchase points so I don't have to spend actual money on buying points? Because - to me - that's what you're saying.
B. You get 1 token a month.
C. You get 400 points a month without buying them.
The points you get for C do not count for A. -
I bought points at the NCsoft site last night while the market was down, and the tokens appeared immediately.

Quote:It might not be marty running, but it also wasn't happening on live yesterday, so it is something that either added new or tightened the limitations on. Even if it's not marty, as something new, it still needs to be tested.I expect the opposite. I doubt very many people will trigger it at all. Most of the reports of people triggering it have turned out to be the old long existing ticket limiter in the AE and that thing has been there for quite a while. That thing messaging you isn't MARTy running.

Bad comparison. It's more like you tell someone to stay out of your yard and then skip the fence part and just say "it's over there" while gesturing wildly in a random direction. A fence would be awesome.

Quote:Because you already want to play the game. Let that sync in. It is only a deal if you already want to play the game.It costs $2 per month to play with IOs under the current Freedom billing model. If that isn't the deal of the century, I don't know what is.
If instead, you stopped giving them money because you were not enjoying it enough to pay them, then it's still $2 more than you need to pay.
Seriously, this is a business model that crack dealers can figure out. It's not difficult. For the first hit, you don't give them the stuff you cut with cat litter and ground up glass. You want the first taste to be the good stuff. For returning players, Freedom fails at that part. -
Quote:No, I understood that just fine. A $2 monthly license is functionally identical to a subscription.I think you misunderstood what he was talking about when he mentioned the $2 dllars per month.
I'm pretty sure he was referring to the IO license which costs Premium players $2 dollars per month to use IO's, not suggesting they drop the monthly sub $2 dollars to entice people to remain subbed.
He suggested that people who returned to only be hit in the face with a now useless character could simply pay the $2 and be ready to go.
My point is, if they were not willing to pay the $15, then they aren't going to be willing to pay the $2. That massive $13 was never the reason they stopped paying in the first place. -

Glad I read this post before tomorrow. 12-months was going to be my first purchase, but that's changed now.
I feel for your disappointment, but thanks for the heads up.
