What I was thinking of doing was possibly using the Toggle button command. Basically from what I was reading it activates 2 functions when you press and depress a key.

For example if I pushed the + key down it would put them passive and when I released the + key it would make them follow me.

Right now I do pretty much several different things depending if I am solo or teamed.

I use the Keypad controls list in the sticky's. I added a stay all for the numpad Del key. Ctrl Del dismisses them all. I've accidentally dismissed the pets once or twice in the beginning.

End result is players are using silly workaround for things that should be working properly in the first place.

I do agree that they should just post something up and say they are aware of the situation and looking to fix it (one day).

That is one of the few things this gaming company is weak on. Keeping the community informed.
  2. If your interested in defense caps. This build will give you 45% in Smash, Lethal, Energy and Ranged. You just need to slot the rest of the powers and pick what you want from Thermal.

The one simple IO is the Steadfast Protection +3% to all Defenses slotted in Fire Shield, that is getting you to the Defense Cap. So Just make sure you slot that stead fast somewhere in your build if you don't want it in fire shield.

You don't need the force feedback in the lash attack.. But its cheap and helps your recharge for powers.

But Everything else is pretty much a must stay to keep your defense cap. Meaning the powers that are slotted.

So Force Feedback can go.. And Stead Fast Protection must stay..

Ahh after re-reading what you posted it clicked in..

It is expensive and pretty much only doable with Force Fields for me. Only because of the defense cap issues though.

But now I am gonna re-look at my Robot FF build and see what I can add.
  4. I guess I'm a bit confused why you would want to go Corruptor when your Defender is going to put out better numbers then the Corruptor would. Granted the numbers are not game ending.. But why not go Rogue with the Defender. Its pretty much six of one or half a dozen of another. Might as well stick with what you got and not waste your time redoing it for lesser numbers to boot.

End result you get to go Rogue.. You get to come to Villain side and you have a 50 to work with and help you out on villain side. I think that is a win / win situation for you.
  5. Was looking at the Recovery bonuses from IO sets as compared to Stamina. 3 endurance modifications IOs give you 49.8% recovery. I do not know If you can get that with or close to it with bonus sets.. Unless you could slot 2 purple IO from each purple IO set. They give the highest at 4%.

I did go stamina-less on my first build Robot FF. But I do remember having issues where I was without stamina. But yet again, at that time I did not follow the Defense cap and just had IOs for the sake of having them.

So I will agree that if I was gonna try a stamina-less build it would be with Force Field.
  6. Only way I found a work around was using Provoke atm. Again you need to be at defense cap to use this effectively though.

Yes, you can get stamina and end rec boost from sets as well as end reduction in your IOs, but the end use will still be high.

You may have to dial down your expectations if you expect to do the same things with this petless mm that you did with your corrupter for no other reason than you will need to carry around a lot of blue insps. if you expect to fight long, drawn out battles because the end use for your personal attacks is higher.

Ahh thanks for the insight. I need to pull up both builds side by side and look at some numbers endurance wise etc.. I think though I should be fine once Traps fleshes out more.

The only 2 things holding me up atm..

    1. trying to get my Robot Traps to 45 to slotting some IOs I have stored away.

    2. theme look I am trying to obtain or decide on.. I know really retarded stuff. I'm not usually like this. But its in my head and I want to try to do it.
  8. Here is my cheap build

Less on the DPS bonus but I noticed I was able to get the Negative Defense to almost cap..

Again your build is better. I would recommend it anyone looking to be a real destroyer with their Masterminds. I am sure anyone walking into a group with any of these 2 builds and in Particular the Raterro build will make a VERY good impression when they see what you can do and how you can survive.

  9. Yea your build great.. Much better then mine. If you look at the misc buffs when clicking view totals you will see your DPS has increase greatly compared to my original build. I'm at 2 percent and your at 132 percent. Tactics is helping out a lot.

End result is I am going to adopt your build.
I just am not a good market person though. I make money but I have no where near the 600 million. I have 200 million maybe pooled together.

Your defenses and mine are similar in the sense we are both lacking the Melee cap or Negative cap. But really in the grand scheme of things if that is all you have to worry about Melee negative attacks.. By all means I have ZERO to complain about.

I have been playing around with it a bit. I 6 slotted the last bot and removed the purple IO, which increased the Range Defense Cap. What that did for me, is it gave me more wiggle room with Maneuvers and Scorpion shield.

I was able to remove a slot from them each and replace another IO from LoTG with the Recharge bonus.

I also removed Trip mine Ragnarok for Positron Blast. By changing the Ragnarok to Positron the recharge went up to 13 seconds.. I was trying to use LoTG recharge to lower that overall recharge. I didn't lower it much though. 1 or 2 seconds. But the damage increase I am gonna get will out weigh the 4 second increase for now.. Once I can afford Ragnarok.. It will be that much better. Trip mine will be down to 6 seconds or something.

Dumb question. I read somewhere else someone mentioning level 10 and you mentioned level 10.. What is the deal with being level 10 ?
  10. Not trying to push Provoke on you.. But YOU are defense capped.. But the pets are not..

I just picked up Provoke at level 38.. I am only in SOs atm and some Generic IOs.

I tested Provoke out on some white and yellow cons before logging for the night. I have to say I was liking what I seen so far. I did have some misses. But over all the mobs where running back into caltrops and the MM pets AOE fire when I provoked them. What more could I ask for. I did take some damage as my defenses are only at 31 or 33 atm.

My build is cheaper, but yours has some nice DPS bonus. If you can afford it by all means its nice. Once the Markets merge I will look to see if the prices on purple sets drops or drops enough from my tight pockets.

Swap out power boost also. It does not work with a majority of the traps powers.

I was looking at the Ragnarok on both BM and WW they are going for 100 million each on average. Again Great build if you can afford that..

LOL I liked the unheated comment. I pretty much do the same as Harkness mentioned.

I might have picked up Dual Wield over Pistols at the end. Actually when I posted up looking for info on DP Kin build that is where Wassabi and someone else actually started arguing. I stood out of it as I was appreciative of both giving input and had no gripe with either of the 2 players.

If you could get Smash and Lethal AND Ranged capped without gimping yourself it would be GREAT... I can't figure it out build wise.

If you open up both builds side by side in 2 instances of mids you will see the dps hardly changes even though I am going from one damage set to a slow set in 2 of the attacks.

I echo what harkness is saying, I am up there with the Brutes and Tanks making sure they get SB and ID as does everyone else.. But they are my main concern if it gets too heated. But you need Defense to be able to do it. The more you do defense caps playing. The more you will see who is not defense capped.

I wish Every arch type was as good or should say as wanted as a kin. Its almost unfair. My kin has 5k in AE tickets and 500 Merits and I'm a schlep of a player. Just an average guy. If I can do it, anyone can..
  12. I'm Pretty much in the same boat as the OP so figure I would just add on instead of starting a new thread.

Is there a list or a way with mids to know which powers will be available in each form. I recall that some powers are grayed out when you change forms. I just am trying to figure out which.

Mids allows me to slot for Dark Dwarf but everything is highlighted for slotting. It would be nice to know which other powers beyond Dark Dwarf I can use while in that form.

Also to the poster who asked about set bonuses.. In mids under the window tab on top there is a option called Set bonus finder. I usually click ALL when looking for a particular bonus instead of a certain value.

    Point made.

You may be on your way.

Of course with ship raids, you could argue there will be multiple /kins so the max will have been met... of course, if you been to a ship raid, massive mobs, for 16 players generally...

Lets take odds that two of them are kins, the spread of mobs is still so far reaching that not every player will get hit by every application, so being able to cast it twice as fast as a 23 second kin, well, your just adding gravy to a raid.

Yep, I know all about the game, and esp all about kins, first char, first 50, I also know that playstyles don't always mix, like yours and mine, I however won't bash you over the head with my superiority nor a newbs in order to enforce that "My point is the right way to think!"

I've seen your builds, and I've seen mine. There is a fundamental difference in how we play and utilize characters.

Heck, at one point I believe you told me you didn't like my using brawl to 4 slot a kinetic crash set for defense and then I saw you do it in a build of your own. Your hypocracy is noted. We don't need to converse anymore.
OMG whats up with all the hostility ?? I'm trying to bring up a an adult debate over 2 different sides of a concept / utility. I was hoping to actually learn something beyond you being so angry.

In all fairness I know you know what your talking about. But I stand by my belief that 9 seconds is extreme in today's game, unless proven otherwise. Show me wrong and without a doubt I will bow down before your greatness
. I guess you can't even take a complement graciously

I don't get people like you. Someone opposes your frame of thought and instead of trying to bring up some solid thought to the table. They get bent out of shape as to how dare someone question there authoritative knowledge on something, even if it is a game. So you bring up the one and only time 9 second recharge is possibly viable and a need. Okay so lets forgo other vital Kin needs or Defense or whatever as long as you get the Fulcrum Shift down to 9 seconds for that ever occurring Ritki Raids * Sarcasm off *. I mean really what server do you play on that these things happen more then 1 once every other day maybe ??

Hey hats off you to angry guy, for showing me you can't even have a normal human discussion.

Actually it was Tough and Weave related to Tactics and Maneuvers, but it is nothing related to what we are talking about. And your angry debate was not with me but someone else on that thread.. What a shocker there..

I would discuss more, but I gotta log.. Those hourly Ritki Raids are forming and I want to make it.. <-- That was more sarcasm, in case you didn't get it.

Though first thing...plainguy how do you intend to 8slot something? Maybe once INcarnate comes out we'll be able to, but currently 6slotting is the max.
Fixed.. typo.. Thanks for catching that..

Silly but somewhat important. Call out Protector bots first, for the simple reason is the Protector Bots will Bubble you LAST. So if you summon everything out, they will bubble your force field generator even before you. So if you summon the Protector bots first they will bubble themselves and then you. Your only third one the list instead of seventh.

The main Def IOs I use for this are Gift of the Ancients. Only takes two and you get +2% per pop. You can slot up to 5 of the same bonus, so that's +10% Recovery with only 10 IOs right there.

See this page here for planning:

Also, don't miss that Power Boost was added to Black Scorpion. Add a little Recharge in your bubbles and you can easily put both Deflection Shield and Insulation Shield on three teammates per usage of Power Boost. This is also very nice for teaming.
I wanted to add I like your thoughts on Stamina. I will have to see if its possible to make a Defense cap toon and slot for endurance set bonuses.
  16. You know the day they make this power useful, you will have tons of flying Masterminds all over the place.

Nice link. I will add I find that Mid Hero builder also has a way to find a particular bonuses also. Under the window tab on top and then click Set Bonus finder

Your pretty much saying what I mentioned.

So as I expressed in the scenario above.

So after 1 minute or so, where are these groups your mentioning ? There are none... So your gonna FS Rom every 9 seconds and get 5 stacks. And then your group will kill Romulus in 60 seconds per death instead of 90 seconds. Does it really, really matter ??? Heck make it 2 minutes at this point. Though I know it doesn't take that long, but might as well. Again Does it matter ?? Your gonna have to be pretty petty over a the amount of seconds it takes to kill a AV when it makes no difference game wise.

So your saying Slot X amount of powers to gain Recharge instead of something else so you can kill an AV a few seconds faster then everyone else ?

End result with everything going on your doing more then FS. FS will be sitting there idle at 9 second recharge. I have never come across a condition yet where I was wishing FS was up. Further if a groups survivability solely hinges on my use of Fulcrum Shift, then that group has more issues then I will be able to fix.. That clearly is a player issue and a build issue not a weak kin issue.

Years ago YES before IO, I say your 1000% right. But today this game and the whole IO system has evolved way past what any Kin player can do.

Today Solo players are taking on AVs..

People are completing The Romulus TF in 30 minutes or less. I remember when just doing the Cyst Crystal mission would take 30 minutes and killing Romulus was forever, who had to separate the nictus, etc. People would brag when they had under 2 hours on the run. Today people act like the nictus don't even exist and just crush Rom.

The point I am getting at is I think its overkill in today's game. Again I might be missing when FS is a must have at 9 seconds. Give me a Raid a mission, SF, TF that would be impossible to do with a FS recharge of 23 seconds. I just don't know.. I really don't see it.

If your gonna say well, at 9 seconds a Fulcrum Shift my team on average can do any SF / TF 10 minutes faster then you can. Then okay.. You win. 10 minutes more isn't gonna kill me. I don't know if it will bother someone else.

With all politeness to the OP I believe my builds are better choices for him to use, I stand by my builds as I use them with great success though I know that Rikti SF are bad for me as the only weakness is no Ranged Positional Defense cap. I cannot find a way to get it without hurting the recharge rate over all. I do not post 2 billion infamy builds that I know many will not be able to obtain or care to obtain.

In all fairness I know you know what your talking about. But I stand by my belief that 9 seconds is extreme in today's game, unless proven otherwise. Show me wrong and without a doubt I will bow down before your greatness.

As a side note : I bring up Romulus because it is one of the most common missions people do and I think people can relate.
  21. Its a defense cap build. If you do not understand the importance of defense cap or what it is just say so. Some will say forget defense cap and do resistance or a mix of both. I am not gonna bother debating that. That is something you have to decide on your own. If you don't understand why some powers are picked, again by all means ask.

If your not looking at IOs then go to the 2nd build with just SO's. If your gonna do SOs. Then I think your gonna be stuck pretty much in that build.

Here is another thread about 10 post down from yours with a similar title asking the exact same thing. If you need to know why just go to the link and read what I posted. Its much easier

  22. Thanks tons for the response, help and info on the coalition thing.. I am somewhat in the same boat if my characters cannot use the coalition storage.

I will have to start making common inventions for the badges and sell off low end salvage.

Hey but at least I know now.

    Thanks again
  23. Very good info I use this in all my builds

  25. I have a solo VG and I have 18 Storage bins filled with Salvage. I looked at all the possible upgrades plot size wise and discovered I cannot go past 18 Storage bins anyways.

My idea was to create another VG and make it a coalition with the Original. But I do not have a clue if I can do this solo or how I would ask someone to even help me to do this. Since I notice sometimes it takes days of asking and offering 1 million in infamy to get someone just to help me to add a alt to my VG I have no clue how I would do this.

So could someone explain how do I add a coalition to a VG. I would imagine both members have to be online to join similar to inviting a member to the VG. So I would have to get someone to join the VG and accept the coalition and then quit the VG ?
