Well, i've been lurking long enough ;p

...after deciding to redo the entry on my main Base, i figured it would be a good idea to post pics as i go about and completely revamp my various Bases; as on the one hand, constructive criticism will help me go from a mere dabbler to an actual Base Builder, and on the other hand, since pretty much everything i know about base building and stacking/floating i learned on these forums, it's a way to give back to the community.

That said, here's the beginning stages of the entry into the 'Blackwidows' SG on Infinity.

edit: got screenies 2 and 3 mixed up...oh well

I love light stairs

Not to be 'that' guy but can you do something about the size of the pics? Btw. It looks like a promising start.

well, the second level is done...

on to the lower level, and then the rest of the base...

@ stacker: heh...yeah, watching your video made those stairs possible ;p

I would like to 2nd the notion of bigger pictures. But like what I see.

Enjoy your day please.

I like what I see! The bigger the better, prehaps if you can start a photo bucket!?

I like. Keep up the good work. Now that school is out for me I can spend time finishing up my bases. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Thanks for all the kind words

I managed to finish the entry late last night/early this morning, haven't taken screenies of it yet, though i will at some point, today.

after the entry, i moved on to the first of many workshops...

still much to do, here, heh

also, i didn't fiddle with the size of the pics this time...hope they aren't too big

they are perfect size, thanks!

So i ran into a problem whilst working on my workshop...one of the white desks i'm using managed to get away and place itself at 'the nearest valid location', which just so happened to be the wall of my entry, from which it now sticks out like a sore thumb...

anyway, while i'm off to fix this, here's where i am with my workshop, also some images of the storage vault i'm building for my 'Theatre Macabre' SG on the Infinity server

K the open Vault door is a thing of beauty. I want one of those now.

Enjoy your day please.

Update: got the errant desk out from whence it hid, and decided to put a small hangar unter the entry.

Finished laying the groundwork of the upper level for the workshop, needed stairs of course, but since the whole room is supposed to have a council-map indirect lighting feel, i opted to use single 'off' lamps, for stacker's light stairs.

I don't rightly know as yet, what i'll actually be putting in the workshop, and am already planning to revamp our Base's CIC (a deathrap room, which i cobbled together right after i13 hit)

images below, a few more on photobucket.

@Bashful Banshee: getting the anles on those vault doors just right is a PITA, heh

I'm sure it is. Was experimenting with that a little while ago when I learned how but just couldn't figure out a use for it. You have opened my eyes and I thank you.

Enjoy your day please.

Hey Rogue. Was playing around at stealing your vault door and IT IS so much more work then I remembered. Probably last time it was simpler because I didn't have to actually make it look good.

Enjoy your day please.

hi, so i haven't posted pics for a few days, so here's where i am with the base...

workshop is getting finalized (still), and i finished CiC (the base's control bunker).

my next project is the large TP room, this has remained unchanged since i built it in i13, i like it as is, but it needs 'something' still, i think...not much...

actually, i'll just post the question here ;p does the TP room look too simple? or should i leave it as is?

i probably wont get any building done this week, due to time constraints, but i'll throw some more screenies up, as i get things done.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

Thanks!

I used tall..uh office? or standing? lamps...can't recall the exact name atm, most are set to 'off' with like 3 or 4 on each side being 'on', for a soft lighting effect.
