I went to the 20.5 update sticky and followed those settings. So I have geometry buffer off. I have shadows on low. Particle set to 3k from 5k. I turned down world graphic.
Its annoying when your at the end of a incarnate trial and crash loosing out on the reward. Sadly and unfortunately it must have happened about 3 or 4 times so far. I reported it, but they said there is nothing they can do. -
What if you used those market IO boosters ?.. Would bumping it up the IO 5x help ?.. I don't know who you figure out what each bump will give you though before trying it

Quote:I find that issue with Force Field and Force Field Generator. Not me that has them it's a lot of others and a majority have them in white or other obnoxious bright colors. Same with barrier destiny but it's more bare able than ice shields.
During big fights I like to know that my FFG is still around without looking so I have a color for each costume slot. One is set to clear so you barely notice it when I just am not in the mood. Even my own own powers annoy me sometimes. Usually what happens I notice the pets taking some damage or more then I'm used to and then notice my FFG is down. -
The problem I see with Pain is you can't heal the pets fast enough even with the Regen of Suppress Pain going. That is the whole problem with Healing powers it is completely reactive, so either your over healing or too slow to healing.
Your never going to use the exact heal at the right time. Especially since you only have 1 aoe or 1 target heal.
So I started trying to see how I could get mobs off my pets and onto me. Since I benefit from IO set bonuses I noticed can get my personal regen to 660 % which is not bad. But I needed to see if I could get my defenses up also.
I went the Tanker mind approach.
Of course the issue then came that I could not possibly cap my defenses against everything and going typed defense was really going to limit survivability vs certain mobs and especially in the incarnate missions.
This is what I came up with and I am currently running.
Prior to this build I didn't have Oppressive Gloom ( OG ) instead I went with full boat presence pool. I figured I could provoke then fear and intimidate mobs. Basically controlled chaos.
Sadly that didn't work out well.
I had tested OG out on my Robot Traps MM and I found it amazing. OG is truly a power you should pick up on any AT that has it available. It works very, very well and leaves you with just bosses to contend with. No clue why I just didn't do this in the first place. But at least now I know and can see how useless those powers are for a mastermind.
So the method I use is Provoke to me, mobs attack, I heal what sneaks in past defenses, spam all pets stay command to keep them near me during pull, Mobs now rush in and get effected by OG. I then unleash pets on bosses and slowly float around the mobs trying to tag as many as I can with OG as it lingers for a bit.
My max setting with Fire Crey farm is 3/8 and can be difficult at times with too many pulls, but it is very comfortable at 2/8. That is without any incarnate level bump, so no alpha unlocked. I think Alpha will give me a decent 3/8 setting.
Its rough when your so used to robot traps or just traps in general.

Quote:I think snipe is one of those powers like others that fell to the way side. Basically they had issues with it couldn't fix it and just beat it to heck over the years. In the beginning before ED players would use it in groups killing higher level mobs that couldn't reach you.
When it first came out with PvP zones even then at the start I seen players grouping up to snipe shot others. I know on my Hurricane Rad I used it a lot in the first days of PvP.
Over time it just got nerfed and never picked back up as many powers did. -

Crashing TONS.. I am probably crashing 2 to 3x per hour. Sometimes back to back..
I followed the video settings and even lowered the graphics even more.
I reset my router for the sake of doing it.
I am running on a mac all in one 27 inch, 4 gig of ram, 1 TB drive ( not that it matters much ) OS 10.6. The machine really has nothing on it beyond COH at the time. Its strickly a web surfing machine. I don't mess around with the config or anything of the sort. I have other machines I use to mess around with if I was going to experiment coding with or installing audrino software per say.
I even went as far as installing another MMO just to see if it was my machine. I played it for hours with no issues..
I came back to COH and crash, crash, crash.
Anyone else having issues. -
Quote:I've decided I am going to respec my robots/traps MM. She has the [Detonator] power, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it in the last six years. After doing a bit of research, it looked like the best power to replace it with would be [Provoke] from the Presence pool.
The thing is, that power only has its inherent slot (with a Nucleolus Exposure in it). If I'm going to replace Detonator with Provoke, should I bother trying to steal slots from other powers to put there? Otherwise, I think I'll just put a single taunt IO there.
Okay I will bite..
Here is your build.
I would suggest you don't take provoke because it will probably give you too much unwanted attention. On a team running higher settings or an Incarnate mission your going to die fast using that power.
As Dechs said your not running on higher settings. On a 1/1 setting I don't even need my pets.
Honestly your wasting good sets in useless powers. At a minimum put the soulbound in the assault bot.
But really your not looking for what is best for your toon. Your just looking for what power is going to replace Detonator. Pick Group fly, Group invisibility, Vengeance, Triage Beacon or one power from the PPP or Ancilary pools.
Nutshell for this build it doesn't matter what you take. It offers you nothing. Your half way to nowhere. Pick what fits your "Theme" because other forum posters are trying to guess and not getting it right because we are not used to these types of request. Usually a player has a build and wants to make it better in some way. Its obvious your not looking for that.

Quote:Bless you DechsI have the Tactics power on that MM, which I use all the time.
To answer the other person's question, I've never used Mids or whatever to plan out my builds. I've gotten pretty good working it out in my head. So I don't have anything to post, unless I write it all out here by memory. -
Quote:I said this on page 1 I think... I mentioned this several times and posted a suggestion about it.SCR applies, but I would add a 10th power to Blaster primaries that is a less damage, fast recharge, crashless nuke (see Archery, DP), then make it an either/or choice with the current Tier 9. Easier said than done, I know.
Coloring powers was impossible at one time.
Nothing is impossible, it just how much time they are willing to spend to do this.
I also recall a time it when your were never going to fly in a starter zone in another MMO. But they did it.
I do agree though, I do feel they painted themselves into corners with these powers. To me it appears as if it is much easier for them to make up new powers then fix older ones.
I believe enough suggestions have been posted up over the years that many power sets could have 2 powers choices for each power in a set thus making even 2 ATs with the same power sets the chance to be unique.
It would interest new players and old players. If having all new powers might over power a set just limit the choices saying you can only have 2 new powers picked the rest of have to be original power choices or whatever.
But 11 pages of trying to figure out how to change powers is never, never, never going to happen. They will never, never, never wake up one day and decide to remove all the KB or make KB to Knock up on energy per say. It is just not going to happen. The only choice is making an alternate power that players have to choose from or new sets.
Further I would like to add it is obvious they can make some changes to what power choices are needed or not needed and at what level they can be picked up just by seeing i21 come out. So I see no reason why they cannot make a new energy power pool per say that unlocks powers at certain levels just like any other power pool.
Finally part of me thinks this is where the market is going to come in. I imagine ( hope ) that you will probably see many new powers open up that can only be purchased as alternate choices to current powers. -
I tried beam time figuring I would try both new powers and from reading you can obtain defense cap with time I figured it would be a win win. After 20 levels I just was not feeling it. I deleted and went trap beam. As was mentioned traps gets some good stuff early on. Even caltrops ( and I don't mean that in a bad way ) is very helpful. I feel it gives me a bit more room to play around with beam and getting disintegrate going.
Again probably more of a personal thing
Ore then anything else. I just wasn't feeling time with beam. -
I will say FF is a bit boring and even being defense capped along with my Robots ( Robot FF MM ). I learned the hard way never to turn on force bubble during the last part of the RSF as it seems to get attention of all the baddies.
-
As you can see after 40+ views your not getting much of an answer.
It's slightly confusing what your asking. At first I thought you were talking about SO's and not inventions and set bonuses then you mentioned set bonuses and finagling.
Build wise I think Gunmage posted up a build which was high end with 5 purple sets. I posted up a build in a thread which was non purple with 1 second off perma. Obviously there was a DPS difference in the 2 builds but the concept still held to what was being done.
If your going for what people are commonly doing with the build then there is a specific direction you need to go. Your not mentioning if your looking to go that way or your own route.
Best bet post a build with a bit of background behind the build and what your trying to accomplish with the build so people can look it over and comment. -
Do yourself a favor and roll a Beam Traps Corruptor. There are minor difference in the powers between the two. But where you can obtain full positional defense with traps your fighting to get 1 positional with Device.

Quote:Started with 25, spent $15.00 for points and they gave me 2 more tokens. My Tier 7 is full and I am working on Tier 8 ( Tier 8 is empty ).Looking at the OP, they could mean Tier 7.
So Token #21 gets slotted into Tier 7. Assuming he has at least 21 tokens then he only needs 13 more to complete Tier 8 at most. Which would make it less expensive to hurry it op.
Plainguy, when you look at the paragon rewards screen, how many tokens earned does it say you have>
I wasn't aware you received tokens for buying points. I was looking around to see if they listed how many tokens you get for how much money spent. but didn't see anything listed.
Reading the chart it says I need 34 to get to the top. So that is 7 more. So I am assuming $60.00 to get 8 tokens at $15.00 per 2 tokens.
Hope I gave you enough info.
Just trying to see if I can get the tokens needed to get to tier 9 without spending $60.00. Not the end of the world, but If I can save some cash what the heck, why not. -
Just wondering if anyone has done the math point wise how much it would cost to get to Tier 9 or whatever the max is ?. I think I'm 7 atm. I know buying points gives you a bump.
-
LOL
These guys just don't have a clue or really just don't care. I will log in now and bug it. -
I don't know..
The OP posted once and created 5 pages. I think he won. -
I told them to wait for you but they wouldn't listen..
-
Spider Monkey - Ape faced Crab defense cap no pets.
Xtreme Combat - Hunstman range cap perma pets. -
I pretty much solo on 4/8 with my toons unless its incarnate or a TF / SF to be honest. I'm just greedy and feel I have a better chance of getting a key purple drop solo then with a team, even if its faster with a team on the same setting.
Back in the day you would have tons of players asking for help with an AV mission because they really needed the help. Today players are just asking if you want to join just to get the badge if you need it and if they ask today for real help sadly in the back of my mind I think wow they must bad not to be able to handle the AV on a -1 /1 setting. I know its retarded but just being honest. The Alpha level bump alone is extremely helpful.
But it is nice to see someone other then a tank, scrapper, brute, or trapster soloing the big guys. Plus by today's standards that is a long fight. Kudos for just wasting your time trying to do this. I soloed the 2 AVs in the Incarnate missions on my Robot Traps before understanding the whole non AV setting options ( now when I do those missions I am set to -1 /1 no AVs regardless of the toon I am using). It was painfully slow. Afterwards I was annoyed because in my mind I was thinking I could have done 3 missions in the time spent wasting fighting those 2 AVs.
If you notice, now even the BAF and LAM incarnates are getting a bit faster and the mobs are dropping faster. -
woot first in
bah curse you
