And why?
There're only a handful of options for these (and only the banes use the mace), but I'm wondering which model people trend towards, just for curiousity's sake. -
Please. =(
A lot of the time I don't want to fight extreme bosses or AVs, or stuff with custom powersets. And there's pretty much no time, ever, I want a defeat all + outdoors map. It's great that these things are listed in the arc descriptions so that I can avoid them.. but since they ARE listed, the game obviously tracks them, and thus it seems like it should be easy to have a popup checklist filter for things you do / do not want in an AE mission. Then I could get a nice, short list of what I'm looking for, rather than tedious "click, no, not that one, close, go to next one, click, nope, close," endlessly. -
Yeah, I think 3-4 of those deaths were mine, all at Reichsman. Blargh!
Thanks for the run though, hope the other guys get through in time. ;D -
The lag is kind of terrible tonight, and widespread, ranging from minor delays to major rubberbanding. Should probably go a bit slower in the TFs and make sure the difficulty settings are tuned down.

Hav'sord, SL 50 broadsword/regeneration scrapper, would like to play~

Electric Melee/Electric Armor brute. Mostly this is because I love the brute playstyle (STEP 1: Find a thing to hit. STEP 2: Hit it until it falls down. Step 3: Without stopping to think, GOTO 1), but the Electric sets are also pleasingly flashy and subtle at the same time (love how the electric armor effects slowly stack up as you grow more powerful).
I get that you CAN "play anything"; that's not really the point of telling you "pick something that fits your playstyle". The point of that is there's probably a playstyle that you will intrinsically enjoy more than another, and you should figure out what that is, and play a thing that does that. If nothing does that for you.. you should look for a game that does. ;D -
So I still need about ten titans, and I've exhausted Crimson's missions. Short of flashbacking, where can I find some more of these buggers? Wiki sez Peregrine Island and Rikti War Zone, but I've never seen any around there. I've also never managed to get two hercs to combine (yes, I've gotten them to very, very low health and next-to-each-other proximity; doesn't work) so if there's a good strategy there, let me know. ;P
-
I thought the "storm" was the Rikti invasion in Issue 10? I was in Faultline earlier this morning and the scroungers were mouthin' off about it, and I thought, "Huh, that's.. old, isn't it?"
-
It's mandatory that you sing it, though. P-P-PraeTOrians!

..themed powerset/AT combination. Doesn't matter if it can solo. I actually have a very specific volcano in mind, but I think that would just wind up being a Demon Summoning/Thermal Radiation, so I'm wondering what other "volcano" sets there might be. Some combination of earth and fire is an obvious choice, but what else? And what powers specifically?

Hi, I still have my Broadsword scrapper from original-issue days, and it's still my main. ;D And in fact the reason why I took Broadsword was because of that crazy burst damage. I wanted a solo character that could take on the ridiculously-regenning AVs of the time, and that meant the 'sword. Martial Arts has always been kind of terrible (which didn't stop it being popular; oh god I remember teaming with MA scrappers who would knockback EVERY DAMN ENEMY), Dark Melee was never popular for some reason (endurance? neg eng?), Spines was the AOE set, Katana missed out on damage of BS but got speed (and a lot of asianophiles), and.. I don't remember why Claws sucked, but nobody except for Wolverine knockoffs used Claws. =p
BS might not be top damage anymore, but does have a very nice melee defense buff and a knockdown and a knock up in its two top attacks, so it ain't nothin'.
So, as said, if all you're looking for is straight damage.. no, I don't think anything beats Fiery Melee.
I wonder why scraps didn't get Ice Melee or Icy Assault, though? -
Ah! So it sticks the pack on everything! Awesome, thanks. =D
-
As I understand it, the backpack can only be displayed on the first slot. But the first slot forces you to kind of stick to a few options. Am I going to be able to, for example, give my crab the robot/tech monstrous legs in his first slot, to go with the backpack? Or am I stuck with the "arachnos armor" legs and look in that slot?

I'd like to bring Hav'sord, a 50 broadsword/regen scrapper.

Quote:Sorry for confusion; I mean any others in the game, anywhere.OP was asking if there was more, well there aren't any more in the RWZ. (I think) There is however the tunnels in Grandville and the Dev dungeon in Falutline. Thats all I know of tho.
And also it's a vote for more of these tucked away. ;D -
Yeah, being able to just walk in the base off the street, no zoning.
-
So, tromping around the Rikti War Zone for the heck of it, I stumble across.. a Council base! Not an instanced one, you just barge in from the street and head down the stairs and into the caverns.
I am 100% all-for-instances guy when it comes to levelling and getting story arcs, but this was really great to stumble across, and I've never seen anything else like it in the game. Are there others around I'm just not aware of? -
Thanks guys, got a lot to go over here. Also, as I was looking through powersets, realised another option: human-form peacebringer. o.O Big melee is Radiant Strike and Incandescent Strike, pbaoe melee in Solar Flare and Dawn Strike, plus pbaoe disorient in Pulsar. Also possibly Radiation/Mental Manipulation instead of /Fire. (I've never played a blaster, and was really surprised to see all the melee and pbaoe abilities they had, especially in the secondaries)

Going for the badge and weapon unlock; I figure it'll be easier this way than trying to get together a TF. =P What's a good area to look for them in?
-
A new wrinkle!
So, I can apparently select some options.. if the option rollout pops over a certain portion of the UI. What's happening is that if the options pop out on the wrong part of the screen (it's a very small section that works), the cursor never changes from the hand icon to the pointer. By stretching and moving the map size and position, I can get the options to a point where I can click on what I need to.
It's definitely a weird bug, it seems. -
Right, which is an issue if the IP owners contact them and say, "Remove this." My question is, will NCSoft pre-emptively remove this when they're notified of it? Or do they tend to let it slide? Has anyone had an arc of theirs removed for copyright reasons?
