I plan to bring my claws/fire brute and I feel bad having to announce I've only participated in one of these mothership raids (actually right when it came out on the champion server) so I'm anxious to participate.

Thank you for creating the channels; my toons were a bit lonely and bored from the "help" channel chatter while on exalted.

Quote:Beautiful this means I can level pact some more before its gone forever. Thanks for reply! There are 'concerns' about level pacting under FREEDOM which need a coding fix. During the VIP Head Start, level pacts can still be made. And after Head Start is over and the F2P players start play, those previously created level pacts will continue to exist. However, once F2P starts, no new level pacts can be made until they put in the coding fix. No time estimation of when that will be.

Totally impressed about issue 21 going to live so soon after the beta. Glad my 6 month subs went through already for my two accounts. Here's a question with i21 arriving for vip on tuesday that means level pacts cease to exist too?
My first purchase will be beam rifle but looking forward to spending points on enhancements, salvage, and recipe storage expansion. -
Quote:They should just give sonic to scrappers since Energy is basically a wince at best now. My original invul/energy tank on my 2nd acct. still sits at 46 since its so unbearable to even attempt to get him to 50.I liked energy transfer when it was a quick punch. Now its so slow i dont even see why it reduces your health.
R.I.P. Energy Melee. They might as well give it to scrappers, since they want everything. -
I think I have more villains than I do heroes and with i21 making it easier to take every AT right out the box to the villain side has me giddy with excitement.
The only problem is teaming, which for a villain isn't a problem since we're loners anyways and always in it to win it for ourselves.
Silly villainwannabe's, just give up and go hero side! :P -
Have you tried a fire/dark corruptor with incarnates.
-
Impressive, now level pact (before the ability is gone with i21) and see his long it takes. I'm betting 5 hrs and you'll have two level 50s.
-
Tried it and the biggest issue as always for gravity is damage. Plus with time you almost need to go cardiac since its such an end hog. The gravity/time is a set for grouping with other sets of total chaos. The opponents eventually give up after being tossed around.
On a side note I could see gravity being an interesting secondary for masterminds. -
Quote:Go broadsword/Shield and you won't be disappointed. So from those who have done it in Beta and those who are good with numbers and those whose experience with CoX is crazy, how well does the Broad Sword go with the Brute? Does it work well with Fury? Or does it just fall on it's face, er sword.
I went to The Fab in grandville and mopped up everything there with an SO build. I did have spiritual which helped recharge slice, whirling sword, and shield charge pretty regularly allowing me to aid self at the end. I keep grant cover off since it was an end hog with only one blue slotted.
So for example going against 2 bane soldier executioners and an assortment of crey tanks I unleashed the following:
hack = 130 to 162
slice = avg from 120 to 162
whirling sword = avg from 110 to 181; along with bleeding ranging from 10 to 15 of additional damage
disembowel = avg 150 to 242
head splitter = avg 240 to 343
Not the greatest since the executioner at one time critical me for 711 lethal damage -
Its a redundant slamming of a few powers but fire/ice tanks kill pretty tasty on SOs alone. I still only regular level 50 IOs on him and he does alright with all content at @+1/x8, although too many ring mistresses can suck big time.
-
You know I'd like to see that theory tested because I feel folks have roided their heroes/villains so much they tend to forget the life before IOs. Not having alpha's slotted and running on only SOs in powers could prove if iTrials are indeed created with regards to that theory and spark the majestic aura of accomplishment.

Cheddars what kind of build are you looking for; farming, basic overall gameplay, itrials, etc.

Quote:Battle for TV redside (television contact) is the one I'd choose. It dishes out the incarnate shards every run through and I get at least 1 purple when running a drone every other mission. Nemesis and family, but the exiting the mission zone is borked and I don't have the heart to tell them to fix it or else they'd put a time on it. Just exit to the hospital to reset. What would you consider the best "farming" missions in the regular game, that is outside of AE? Would these missions need a different AT and/or powerset combo to farm effectively?
I realize that the rewards will be overall less than AE farming, but I'm looking for something to do when I need a break from AE. I have a number of 50s and no problem leveling another to switch off to if another AT would be better suited.
I only have spiritual slotted so +3/x8 is all my ss/fa can handle with my AE farming build. -
Yeah the burst damage is the biggest fault for ice armor. Facing off against lvl 54 rikti I thought my stalker was performing in uber fashion till he was DOA after a nice slice to the jugular. But other than that ice armor, although as ugly as stone is, its a pretty balanced set. Once i21 hits EA will start to have its love like never before.
-
Perhaps one of these days I'll venture forth into a trial and enjoy the ridicule of being a "noob" 50 with just the alpha slotted to be specifically placed so I don't anger the "we've ran this a million times" folks who want to get it over as quickly as possible to run another one.
Anything that's too easy can always be made more "meaningful" in accomplishment if you just use your imagination and no adding "noobs" to the group doesn't count. -
That right there is the biggest issue with tanks in todays coh. The killing time is horrible leveling up solo at any difficulty above +1@x8. Going scrapper or brute adds more suspense to the survival before investing in IOs, more so for scrappers than brutes. Granted elec doesn't have invuls dull pain but it definitely is a late game player with its 90% res with energy.
-
Can you sustain a 300% damage bonus without reds or incarnates with claws? I think not and that's why SS pulls ahead of claws. I can go through 3 mobs in the Battle for TV at +3/x8 with bosses before my end crash. Its not too bad considering I'm using my AE farming build and I don't have an incarnate slotted. The three warhulk combos or 2 warhulks and 1 fake nemesis truly pack a punch.

This set can be a beast with the right secondary. I picked electric as my secondary focusing on buildup, thunderstrike, power sink, and shocking grasp along with the electrical mastery. Beam rifle is a freaking end hog, granted I'm just slotting with SOs but I feel this set will be massive with IOs.
Leading off with piercing beam and disintegrate seemed to develop better results than trying to end with them.
Is Overcharge a crashless nuke because it seemed like it when I vaporized my lvl 52 rikti mob in RWZ. -
Quote:Pretty close to same. I think since I've played tank so much my desire has gone down for even creating new ones and only dusting off current ones for day job badges.Post I21 will be this:
Warshade
Brute
PB
Scrapper
Stalker
Soldier
MM
Dom
Corr
Widow
Cont
Blaster
Defender
Tanker
It depends on particular sets, but in general that's where I am. I won't really touch anything below controller except for very special circumstances. -
Quote:Weird, I can pl my alt acct. at +1/x8 and not have issues but your bud has to follow ya and give you inspirations. Sometimes you die but its rare or due to you not eating a purple.Okay, just learned the hard way that this is NOT the arc for PL'ing a teammate.
The split of inspie drops is absolutely detrimental to your performance.
Also, unless they're glued to your backside, they tend to die and take a bunch of ambush mobs with em, splitting your kill pool.
PL through level pact? Cool.
PL through teaming in the same arc? BAD! -
As much as I would've liked to agree, it was disappointing when I faced lvl 54 with 2 chief Soldiers and 2 Chief Mesmerists. It failed big time and overload did nothing to save it. Granted its SOs for slotting but what better way to test a shield and its primary damage dealer than to go against what mostly resists it. The test was to see if the primary and secondaries could outlast the enemies. Now WM has mostly disorients while BA has knockdowns. Frankly for any fight, I'd pick the knockdowns over the disorients.
-
FYI don't waste your time making a WM/EA, its a complete turd with it (SOs wise). Now going Axe/EA is beautiful and worth its weight in gold. Perhaps with another shield it may shine but definitely a set needing IOs to make it pretty doesn't add up. Just my two cents.

Battle for the TV mission is king to all. There's about 10 in a +0/x8 settings. Just go red side and run the television contact till you get to that mission.
-
Ice armor is pure win for stalkers, may even be a fotm for a month or so after i21 hits. I felt pretty awesome with sj/ice against lvl 53 rikti on just SOs and no incarnate unlocked. Will try a km/ice tomorrow.
