  1. 1. Build for +HP, +recovery, +regen, and if you have the resources, a little bit of +rech. +HP is by far the most important for an MM.

    2. Super Jump if you can get it.

    3. 33 or lower.

    thanks for the speed replies

i was thinking about the lvl 5 arena event
was thinking may go with dark/mm defender or Energy/mm blaster

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you're going to be thinking about the level 5 arena event, go with a Sonic/Energy or Psi/Energy Blaster. Maaaaaaybe a Sonic/Rad Corruptor but Blasters usually rule in FFAs.
  3. You could be like that one guy who took Repulsion Field from Force Mastery, and decided to use it to push my heavy up and outside the map. Then he ran out of end, fell, and I lol'd while I killed him.
  4. hold on a sec, i'm still setting up tripmines
  5. Not +HP or +dam, as those aren't affected by DR.
  6. It gives resistance to everything in PvP. So do APP/PPP shields (or defense, as the case may be).

First off lets get a few things straight...IS PFF nerfed?
    No it's not..therfore I owe you nothing

    [/ QUOTE ]
I14's not open or live yet, champ.

    [ QUOTE ]
Lastly I don't remember fighting you, but if I did fight you and you did beat me, then it just further proves pff should be left as is.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or he's better than you and you don't have much of a grasp on actual PvP mechanics. I'm leaning toward the second one. If you have PFF and lose a duel there's something wrong with you.
  8. Unresisted TK blast has been fixed according to rumors.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
All i know is that since I13 came out it seems everyone has been hitting through the PFF alot easier. Is it just me?...Could be...However I think we all got a little off topic here...I'm not denying PFF's superior protection. All I'm saying is that in terms of PVP...Anyone who pops pff isn't going to dominate the battle field...In terms of "PVP" Elude is by far a greater PVP threat,

    [/ QUOTE ]
Lemme know when PFF has a 2-minute suppression period and a force detoggle. Until then, it's broken.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
pff can be cut trhough like a hot knife through butter i.e. rad and most well built MM's...and if anyone pops 2 to 3 yellows(which anyone can easily do)...pff is pretty much screwed....so thats why imo pff doesn't share forced cool down and recharges fast.

    [/ QUOTE ]
What a load of bull. Rad debuffs defense, not elusivity, and it's the elusivity that makes PFF broken. Even with rad debuffs on you'll still be looking at a very low chance to hit, after which you still have PFF's built-in resistances to chew through. Popping yellows is subject to DR, which hits most damage-based ATs pretty hard. In short, there's no way to reliably hit through PFF aside from builds that are specifically designed to do it, and even for those builds "reliably" might mean 30-40%.

Yeah, except most of the people in zones are stupid and complain about just about anything.

Spines/SR is probably the best choice of that list. The Ice/EM Blaster would be decent as well, and if you could build and play the Peacebringer right, they do alright in zones.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Zero contact on both sides of the fence seems pretty balanced to me.

I can't hit you, you can't hit me...I fail to see the inherent imbalance. Frustration? Sure. Nuisance? Absolutely. Noobism? Arguably.

    Imbalanced? Get a dictionary.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Except you can hit me through my elusivity and I don't have a snowball's chance in hell of killing you through PFF unless I get lucky and land a -end/-recovery power in hopes of dropping your toggles. When my health starts to drop, I have to phase, hibernate, or hit my tier 9. Phase/hibernate last 30 seconds and have a 120 second suppression timer. Tier 9's last 3 minutes and have a crash. PFF has neither of those and can be used as often as you want with zero consequences.
  14. Nothing, unfortunately. He claims that it won't be nerfed because PFF is balanced.
  15. Elusivity is to accuracy as defense is to tohit, which is why you want to build around accuracy set bonuses (and slotting) as well as +tohit.

    KB in PVP

Huh, I thought they were all on the 15-second timer.
  17. ^^ FYI this is the guy I started my other thread about. Promised him all my inf if PFF doesn't get nerfed in I14.

Still works but knockback is subject to the same suppression period that mezzes are.

stalker stealth cap > perc cap

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nope, a perception-capped non-VEAT AT will be able to see a stealth-capped Stalker from 10 feet away. Of course if you're fighting a good Stalker you'll probably never see them.

However as A_Z said VEATs have a higher perception cap than every other AT so they can see a stealth-capped Stalker from a fairly large distance. TT:L, Tactics, and an IO should be good, possibly the base buff as well.

    1)Level
Hands down my favorite PvP instance is Siren's. While it caps on lv 30, if you go there at higher levels, the slots past lv 30 will help there? Or IO Sets that are higher? All in all should I expect much harder time on PvP before level cap?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You have the benefit of all slots after level 30. However, set IOs will follow exemplar rules so if you want all your bonuses at Siren's levels you'll need to make sure you buy level 33 or lower set IOs.

    [ QUOTE ]
    2)Where?
I know 3 relatively active places to PvP: Sirens, RV, and Arena. Which of them you guys think to be more balanced? Or each of them has their own FotM?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Siren's PvP is, according to some, more balanced and fun simply because everyone isn't running around with phase, sharks, Elude, or PFF. I like having Phase as an "oh [censored]" button and am not one of those peopple who will only leave PFF to take an attack or two, then turtle back up in it.

    [ QUOTE ]
    3)IO Sets
Many expensive/famous IO sets have relatively small bonuses. Its few percent bonuses will make a noticeable difference for PvP? Basically, assuming 2 players with relatively similar skill, how huge is the advantage of a full IO slotted toon versus another full decked out in IO SETS?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Small bonuses won't make much of a difference. It's when you stack them that the difference becomes apparent. However, with diminishing returns, the value of some set bonus types is greatly lowered (such as recharge, regeneration, and recovery). Only two bonus types that DR doesn't hit are +HP and +damage, I think, so building around those is always a safe bet. Assuming two players on similar characters with similar skill, the one with the extra HP and damage will probably win, barring lucky hits/misses and things of that nature. The "you need IOs to PvP" myth is just that - a myth - but when you're up against people of even skill, IO sets often give you that miniscule advantage.

    [ QUOTE ]
    4)Pool Powers
Is it true that Flurry and some other powers laughable at past are now interesting for PvP? Why?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Flurry and Kick. With damage based on activation time now, powers that were previously worthless suddenly became a lot more useful.

    [ QUOTE ]
My current main is a MM (Nin/Pain), and I plan to start a PvP oriented character soon. Any AT/comboyou guys would recommend (redside or blueside)? I'm looking for anything really, that is solid enough to start getting the "feel" of pvp again, before trying more original/daring toons.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Here's a quick breakdown of primary and secondary sets for ATs that are working right now:

    * Blaster - Psi and Sonic, and to an extent Fire and Ice, paired with Energy or Devices
    * Controller - Illusion and Fire, and somewhat Earth and Ice, paired with Storm or Force Field (until PFF nerf anyways)
    * Defender - Force Field (until PFF nerf), Cold Dom, Storm, paired with Sonic or Psi
    * Scrapper - Spines, and somewhat Fire and MA (lol), paired with Regen or SR
    * Tanker - Fire, Ice, and somewhat Shields, paired with SS
    * Kheld - not really, but a well-built Peacebringer is somewhat decent

    * Brute - SS, paired with Fire, SR, or somewhat Energy
    * Corruptor - Sonic, Fire, somewhat Elec, paired with Cold, Storm, or Thermal
    * Dominator - Mind, Fire, and somewhat Earth, paired with Elec or Fire
    * Mastermind - Ninjas or Necro, paired with Pain, Storm, or Poison
    * Stalker - Spines, paired with SR, Ninjitsu, or somewhat Energy
    * VEAT - Night Widow is tops, Fortunatas are still good, Banes are not bad if built and played well
  21. macskull

    lolz

At people who think Widows are more broken than PFF "because you can't attack when PFF is up."

    Discuss.
