    Shield Charge

All summoned pets have done that for a while now. Lightning Storm included. I'll believe it's fixed in i15 when I see it.
  2. A long time back, I stumbled on a nifty little app, via these forums, to modify the loading screens with images of your choice. I've since lost it, and google is not proving helpful whatsoever.

Anyone know what this app is?
  3. End use isnt really all that bad once you have everything slotted and a few good IO's under your belt. My spines/dark never had much of a problem during normal gameplay, and this was before the introduction of purples.

And, surviveable? Throw some defense sets into the mix and you can out-survive some tankers You definitely won't be soloing AV's though.. heh... For starters, spines shines in AoE but is very lackluster in single target damage.
  4. No, not a desktop... but I have a spare keyboard in the closet that I think I'll give a whirl =/

    Stone/SD Brute

    Shield is child's play.

    Go Stone/DA.
  6. Just happened again, and this time I *know* it wasn't a mouse click as I wasn't even using the mouse at that time =/

    Advise Needed!

I'll advise you with some advice! Should you not wish to lose out on any loose change, please change your engine oil every 3000 miles.

...Hey, wait a minute, you're in the UK, you spell defense as defence too, don't you!

    TF Controller

If you want to level up with positron, plant is your best bet, despite you not wanting to play it (why?).

If you stack rage (which you can do with 3 SOs and quickness), you won't have to worry about the defense penalty of rage. If you are planning on hasten, with SR you have three click powers you're going to have to monitor - that's the only reason I never rolled a SS/SR.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So having perma-Rage removes the crash associated with it? Or did you just mean that the Damage compensates? sorry if its a noob question, i've never tried any 'perma' builds before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, it doesn't. I'm not sure what he(or she) is talking about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Reading comprehension skills are lacking... the defense penalty is negated with stacking rage, as was originally stated.
  10. Here you go, but I haven't made that many changes to default binds on this character and I think it has happened on another character as well .

Rather, I'm suspecting it's something to do with the new chat interface and me pressing a key combo to make it focus on the quit button. A similar thing happens to me when I have my friends window open: I'll all of a sudden get a window asking me the name I wish to /gfriend. Also, when soloing, I'll sometimes begin changing my lft message while in the middle of combat. It's really bugging me !

  11. Hello!

This keeps happening to me since I've come back to the game - I'll all of a sudden quit group without physically clicking on the QUIT option. Now, I see there's a host of new chat-oriented bugs so was wondering if this was one of them? And, if so, what exactly is the key combo so I can avoid it?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    Yea,

Mind is Awesome. That's why it's been FotM for so long.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because not being FoTM is the sign of a bad set? ok... I'm not going to try to argue with you any further - if you're determined to hate mind/, then sobeit.
  13. uhm, Mind is awesome.... it has so many AoE controls that you always have something to fall back on. Plant gets.... seeds (and an agro sleep that everyone skips). Not to mention the fact that, with mind, you can stack sleeps, you can stack confuse, you can stack holds...

I aint knocking plant by far - it's an awesome set, but if you think all mind/ brings to the table is Mass confusion, you're nuts!

To the OP, the cornerstone of plant is seeds of confusion. It makes leveling pretty easy. Creepers are also a signature power - not all *that* amazing, but certainly a lot of fun.
  14. If you slot either Grant Cover, Battle Agility, or Active Defense with Defense enhancements, you also increase the defdebuff resist of the respective power.

So.... normally Active Defense can't take defense enhancements, but you can get around that by using Membranes (recharge/def). Therefore, when you double stack AD, which you will do given the ludicrous recharge of your previous builds, you also double stack the defdebuff resist.

This is the only way you will manage to cap your defdebuff resist to 95%, which you most assuredly want to do if you step foot into Cimerora.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Crowd Control was shown as having among the lowest DPS in the primary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not sure what you mean by this. "Shown"? Crowd Control is one of the set's best powers. Against a single enemy, sure it sucks. Against ten enemies, it beats out footstomp - lower recharge, higher damage (discounting rage). And you WILL hit ten enemies with it on a decent-sized team.

It's also 100% knockdown, whereas whirling mace is a 30% mag2 stun - nigh useless. You absolutely want that knockdown available when your regen isn't keeping up underneath a pack.

Don't knock it before you try it. Between CC and shatter, mace is great.
  16. No crowd control. That makes me weep.

Do you know that crowd control is a 180 degree arc? If you're surrounded and don't want to get out of range, then don't - all you need to do is jump up, queue CC, and watch it hit everything around you.

And I mean EVERYTHING, potentially a 16 diameter sphere versus whirling mace's 8.

Additionally, I realize this is a leveling build - all the more reason for the fitness pool, but you'll later be able to drop either bashe or pulverize once you get a few recharge bonuses.

Indomitable will is the status effect toggle ya? (Been a while since I played my WP)... you'll want that much sooner.
  17. Another thing you should consider is Membrane HO's in Active Defense. With all that recharge, you'll have easily stacked debuff resistance from that power and it's a damn shame to not enhance its base defdebuff res.
  18. Your defenses suck. You need at least roughly 16% melee/rng/aoe def from set bonuses to soft cap an SD brute (assuming weave + CJ), you're far from it.
  19. This issue has plagued me for so long... does anyone know of a way, third-party or not, to increase and/or change the color of your in-game mouse cursor?

Firing off powers with a shift+lclick bind requires that I know where the cursor is in the midst of a hundred different spell effects going off (team settings). It really slows down gameplay when you have to stop and stare at your monitor looking for a little white speck as you get whacked by enemies.

    Anything out there?
  20. You're not soft-capped. You're at 43ish melee and AoE - unless you specifically edit the Mids' DB, Phalanx Fighting has 1 minimum ally in range. Your first build was closer to soft-capping than the second (needed more AoE).

    Tornado damage

Nothing wrong with Mids. Tornado is the boss killer of the set. The trick is to keep spamming -kb and, preferably, to get things hurricane'd on top of one another so tornado does damage to multiple mobs.

People who only use tornado on AV's and "bad pulls" make me cry.

    Plant/storm is terrific fun btw

Edit: Oh, and later on, try to fit in a contagious persuasion proc into Seeds - it works remarkably well to one-shot confuse multiple bosses.
  22. WM is a LOT of fun. Hitting the target max with crowd control is just so satisfying on large teams. Miniscule recharge too,

Once you get shatter and crowd control, you'll be a wrecking ball with WM. Personally, I'm not a fan of SS due to rage crashes, and SM doesn't have enough AoE dmg for my tastes.
  23. Unless you plan on facing a lot of psi opponents, stick a steadfast res/def IO in it and call it a day. If Psy clockwork are more your thing, then 2 res dmg is plenty.
  24. AAO caps at 65%. And it is not "bad" on any AT. What the OP is splitting hairs over is the fact that the criticals of scrappers are multiplicative with AAO, whereas fury and AAO are additive. There's a difference in final dmg (in solo settings mostly) but it's minor.

Brutes still have the higher damage cap, so it's all a wash in the end. Play what you enjoy, don't worry about spreadsheets.
