  1. Heh. Just got 2M for two Temporal Analyzers red side. I'd listed them for 50.

I took a break from running regular missions to run some in the AE lately myself. Run regular to load up on salvage, then run AE to load up on recipes (running missions always leaves me swimming in salvage, but with hardly anything in the way of useful recipes). Craft to get rid of some of the salvage, put the IO up on the BM and then run more missions for salvage.

Last night my first five rolls (they were good enough that I stopped there, it was late anyway) got me three Entropic Chaos, a Red Fortune, and a Decimation quad. Nothing huge, but not worthless either. Now I just need for them and a few other things to sell to clear more market slots (well, or just drop them in the base for an alt to sell them...)

A thousand times yes. And I've seen many similar random price jumps. I don't know why people do it, but I won't complain.

Maybe just for the ebil FAIL?

    (no clue, just speculating)

If you even really "need" them. Put in reasonable bids, slot SOs, come back later.
  6. Heh. It took my Brute roughly 170 hours solo to get to 50. I seriously doubt he racked up 3400 merits in that time (yeah, not all of it was spent in active combat, but the actual figure is probably WAY lower than 3400).

It's a good thing there are folks that generate them at faster clips, otherwise there'd be nothing on the market.
  7. I took everything except for Taunt and Grant Cover on mine, though all I have slotted in Bash are two Stupefys. I will say though that I wasn't even aware of the Debuff Resistance on Grant Cover, I could certainly see that being useful in some cases.

I believe Eva said aside from selling your drops.

    What is Poverty?

In the case of my bane, I just hadn't gotten many salvage drops that made very much on the market (yay Simple Chemical...). That and I've been too lazy to transfer any inf to him or drop anything in the base for him to slot or sell. Outside of throwing a few million at my Emp every now and then, I don't transfer much between characters (may change with inf email capability).

If you have one to five million dollars at 50, you're likely poor (contingent on not having blown a ton to IO out/contests).
This sounds right to me. My first 50 (long ago) finished with probably 1-5M. Then, it was plenty - already had all the SOs I needed, didn't need more costumes. What would I do with 5M?

This weekend I've been playing my WM/Shield, who got to 50 sometime last week (the one who had less than 40M at level 47). Right now he has 392M, before even attempting to sell a Hecatomb.

I logged into my Bane, who just made level 22. He had about 500k. Enough to outfit less than half his slots with SO. I'd consider that poor.
  11. It sure seemed like a lot to me, but I hadn't looked at numbers. Good job confirming this. I think this may just seal me playing my 50s this weekend rather than leveling more alts (which would just cut into their merit earning on the way up anyway).
  12. As someone with a son who likes to play CoH now and then, I commend you on your patience.
  13. 25k for a PP is apparently nothing; 39k for a Nullifier, 108k for Synapse, and 1.375M for an arc completion from Tavish Bell.

I think I might opt just to play my 50s during 2xp weekend...

I do think that the developers who write in game content probably ought to rehabilitate the Statesman character, and integrate him better into the game world. He's center stage in the loading screen; he ought to be a bit more prominent in game.
Or they just need to turn him heel in our dimension as well.
  15. I didn't take taunt on my WM/Sheild (nor did I take Grant Cover). If I teamed more, I'd have taken them. But I don't so I didn't bother (though I did take it on my DB/WP scrapper - go figure).

I am looking to team at some point on an ITF (the Roman costumes would fit the theme), but if/when I do I won't be looking to take a tank role.
  16. Hmm...I'm sure I have a Siphon Insight somewhere, but it's probably the Pool B.

The problem I have with pieces like that that have little or no market history is...what do you list it for? You have to guess on what the market is for it from not a lot of information. List it too low, you probably don't get what it's worth. List it high, you may never sell it (wasting the fee and a slot). When faced with this sort of dilemma, what do I tend to do? Not list it at all, but pack it away to worry about later.

Atlas may have a lot of stupidity in it, but it still kinda feels like home despite that. Galaxy feels like I've been sent away to boarding school.
    And that's largely why.

(of course I don't set foot in the Hollows, either)

Blue-side. No such tedium red-side. Just find the right store and buy. Even easier for 40+, and I'll go there to vendor common recipes anyway.

One nice thing about SOs to is that they drop ready-made. You won't get all that you need, but you will get some of what you need from mob drops and arc completion bonuses (some still do drop them). Mission completes too if you go for that particular day job.

I do plan builds, so I will typically to DO->SO->set IO, skipping common IO except for cases where I can't slot a set or if the set pieces are going to take a while to get.
  19. Unbelievable - now I just got a Fortunata Hypnosis drop (defeated Radio, drop came from a straggler Champion Swiper).

I think we just have to assume that at a minimum someone could expect maybe 50M, but that luck can push you much, much higher. Either way it's way more than enough to outfit SOs.

And yeah - farming is just playing the game way more efficiently, the dynamic is the same. Defeat mobs, get drops.
  20. My brute is at 49 now and his earning has picked up a little since my earlier post; I had a 4M bid on a Numina that I'd forgotten about and took back, sold some crafted IO like Doctored Wounds, Thunderstrike, Mako, etc. Was up to about 60M before putting in some bids. I've also made some nice change off of common salvage (seems a lot of folks are bidding 100k on things for no real reason).

That would still seem on the low side, even compared to my other recent 50s. However, he's been pretty darned lucky the last week. A Gravitational Anchor dropped a couple days ago, then a Hecatomb AND a Soulbound Allegiance yesterday. No farming, just from running normal missions.
  21. Ahh - that helps. I didn't remember all the facts and the timing (I knew for instance that Pool C and Pool D had been combined post-merits, but I didn't know that the weighing was put in at the same time they were combined). Forgot about the dual nature of the Rare As too.
  22. For Pool C, definitely. But Pool A?

What I would wonder is are we sure Pool A isn't weighted in the wild? Especially if it is found to be from ticket rolls; why work off separate drop tables?

Or just slot it in a Tier 1/2, should you choose to take them and actually slot them (though not everyone does). Like Bash*, Energy Punch, Slash. Recharge is 4s, End is 5.2. Those are pretty low already, and with 4 KC you're decreasing them nearly 40%. You don't really need to decrease them any more than that. So you're good to throw in the proc, or just leave it at four slots.

Same theory for blasters and Entropic Chaos. Flares is insanely fast and uses very little endurance (yes, it's an outlier). Perfect place to sacrifice a slot for what I think is a handy proc (heal). Of course, the x5 bonus for Entropic Chaos is quite a bit better than KC.

    * I actually have my Bash 2-slotted with Stupefy - cheap way to help recovery a bit - but I do want 5xKC for Pulverize. I figure running faster can help keep fury up. And I like to send guys flying.

Not a bad question. I'd specifically wonder about how much patrol xp was or wasn't collected. I'm guessing that also has cut into the earning potential of my brute; a good deal of the time he's had patrol xp, leading to fewer mob defeats and I'd assume fewer drops.

Posi was the first I ever attempted, back when a number of friends and I started playing (I'm the only one still at it). We were doing it in sessions, which I think was the original intention for TFs. We had gotten through a good amount of it when some odd TF bug popped up that made it impossible to resume in-progress TFs. We didn't bother starting over.

edit: looks like Sardan and Zombie Man beat me to the multiple sessions point
