I do hope that the quality of the sets is good - that they are fun to play. I have no problem with 800 points for a set that I will enjoy and play for 200-400 hours. If I unlock a set and am sick of it by level 20...that's not as good.
(I wonder if I can pay extra points for a revamped /Devices, or buffed Peacebringers...) -
My take is basically Vanden's. Yes, the Countess tried to set herself up as the Hero Corp's savior and we learn later that Crey is no good, but that doesn't mean that elements within Hero Corp aren't altruistic. And even if they ARE rotten by association, we shouldn't really know this in the lower levels. I'd think in the sub-30 game there would be a few potential stories that could be told.

Also loving Beam Gun, and hoping there are 50s/60s B-movie weapon customization options.

Quote:It would make sense to leverage this technology in other parts of the game, and signature arcs seem like a good opportunity. One possible angle they might be looking at is extending the disappearing contact tech from the 1-20 GR content - signature arcs might give players the chance to make choices that will allow them to "customize" their game world in a limited way.
For example, while Heroes and Villains currently all have identical game worlds, some Praetorians have a game world where Cleopatra is dead, while others have one where Washington is dead. -
It may very well make sense for me to let my second account - which was originally created to let my son play and team with me - go to Premium. He doesn't play very often, and while I have characters on there I probably wouldn't play more than 3-4 of them. When I21 goes live my son will probably have renewed interest for a time, but that will wear off eventually as he picks up other console games. If I do let it lapse, it would be then.

I've run my Ill/TA controller on a number of BAFs. Fares well enough.
Looking forward to my Elec/Sonic on them too. -
Quote:I'm the opposite. I barely run TFs. While I have spent plenty of time redside, I prefer blueside. I dislike almost all of redside's zones.Red > Blue. 90% of my characters are Vil/Rogue. I also hate almost all of blueside's tfs.
Especially those godforsaken forts. -
Heh. Yesterday I thought our Carnie Illusionists resembled a panel in the new Lady Sable webcomic (not to mention the guy in the nice Nemesisesque coat), and now I hear of gunslinger pieces and corsets. I was just thinking items like those would be nice additions.

Quote:I did this - lost 55 pounds, and have kept most of it off (after five years). And if you think 20,000 people can't be wrong, just look at no-carb dieting!
This however was not as successful. -
Quote:I'm not going to say I prefer it, but this is how I kinda look at it.Seriously, is there anyone out there that prefers making a target intangible to hard controlling it for the same duration?
Most holds are Mag 3, and can instantly hold minions and lieutenants. One application w/o a fortuitous overpower will not hold a boss.
An intangible power WILL hold bosses, on one application. So it's like a superhold. But we can't have a superhold which is just increased mag over a regular hold, because it would overshadow the regular hold. So there's a tradeoff -- for the certainty (outside of tohit checks) of locking down a boss, you trade the ability to hurt the foe.
I think that's actually pretty reasonable. No, it's not really the most useful thing under most circumstances, including most of team play. I personally find it really handy when my Elec/Sonic encounters two bosses at once. Does that happen often? No, not really. But when it does I'm glad it's available and works as it does. -
I hadn't heard of them either.
/has never run a respec trial red-side OR blue-side -
Quote:Yeah, I think I've seen this problem in cases where I'm around loads of mobs - I try to target but I end up clicking on a mob or toon. Rikti invasions, for instance. I figured I was just having a hard time finding an open patch of land.I have similar issues with trying to drop patch spots. I think it occurs when I'm surrounded, either by team mates, other players, or enemies. Such that there is someone who is right behind me, in a blind spot where I am essentially looking through their body. Since their body covers my entire view, anything I try to place is targeting them and is thus invalid.
Edit:
A lot of the new content include massive spawns of ambushes that try to either mob you or joust you. The bigger body types don't help either.
Though thinking about it...I'd sometimes have the problem with trying to target close too - caltrops, RoF right on top of me, Shield Charge. -
1. Create a new zone or zones that are used for staging*
2. When player enters queue, warp them to the appropriate staging zone
3. Profit!**
* As long as all necessary time-killing amenities - including a market interface - are in the zone. Assuming we're never going to be able to run missions while queued.
** Or at least use Broadcast to state you're looking for a trial, which should be pretty obvious if you're in the zone.
(Ok, this probably isn't a flawless plan. But many have asked for staging areas, and warping a player to one - possibly a trial-specific one - would cut the reliance for knowing if/where/for what players might be assembling.) -
I can't speak to how it will play as compared to Electric Armor, but I think I'll like the changes on my KM/EA Brute.
* Endurance drain protection and slow resistance - always good to have.
* Entropy Shield is now Entropic Aura for Scrappers and Brutes. This power is a taunt aura that grants the user a scaling recharge buff based on the number of foes surrounding the user -- I don't mind having more foes attack me, and as a brute, faster is better.
* Energy Drain no longer has a healing component, instead it offers a small defense boost per target hit. - fine by me, as I didn't feel the healing aspect of the power was anything that could really be relied upon. More useful to replenish end, though I really don't have issues with that. Extra defense is nice -- I believe I am capped S/L, nearly capped for Fire/Cold/Energy, and could use the boost for Neg/Psi.
* Conserve Energy was replaced by Energize, a self Heal that offers a moderate regeneration and endurance cost reduction boost for a short while. - Honestly, with Stamina and having taken Superior Conditioning (slotted with the +End proc) and Physical Perfection, endurance wasn't an issue. And if it was, I have Energy Drain. So Conserve Power was little used. I will certainly use it for regen/heal though. -
Ah, thanks. I have to admit to not playing a stalker past level 8 or so. I will eventually just to get one to 50, but I've not yet really felt the need to with Scrappers/Brutes available (sorry, devs and stalker fans).

Quote:Maybe give Placate a reasonably strong, but short (well, shorter than the recharge), AoE/PBAoE -ToHit effect? Placate one foe, throw the others off enough that they also stand a lesser chance of hitting both you AND the team.I do think Stalkers need... *something.* They've gotten some decent buffs and adjustments, yes. I'm not sure AOEs are "it," but I wouldn't turn them down. Something that makes them more wanted on a team, like debuffs (aside from the chance to terrorize on a non-lethal AS) might help.
edit: or give it with AS...hard to hit things when your reaction is "whoa, WHAT THE!?!" -
I like the BAF because I am reasonably sure that I can't foul it up and that I can help do something useful for all of the stages.
-
I have to admit - I've never run an Apex or a Tin Mage. And really, I have little reason to want to. If I'm going to team, it's going to be for incarnate advancement and it just seems to make much more sense to join a BAF or Lambda (eventually Keyes I guess - haven't done one yet).

Quote:Wait, what? Nobody does?indeed, the height of arrogance for demanding stuff based on something nobody does in reality, a play style you insist on for the singular purpose of pushing an agenda and making things easier.
Thanks for trying, though. Good luck with your next strawman I'm sure you're working on as I type.
Right now I am leveling a 42 Elec/Sonic controller. He has never teamed.
I have a level 50 widow who never teamed.
I have a level 50 Plant/Thorn dominator who never teamed.
I have a level 50 Merc/Poison MM who teamed, but it was to aid a higher-level AE baby with NO ENHANCEMENTS beat Silver Mantis. Which I did while he was in the hospital.
I have a level 50 Energy/Kin corr that teamed once somewhere in the 20s, when she didn't even have speed boost (and got funny looks for it). The next time she teamed was for the BAF trial. Why? Because to unlock anything beyond Alpha, she had no reasonable option.
Argue whatever else you like, but don't argue that every player or toon teams. Because they don't. -
This reminds me. My Emp - magic user with powers dating back through Medieval times - would have worked quite nicely with some Cabal pets. Someday, perhaps.

Quote:Yep, love Synaptic Overload - which I consider both a control and a damage power. For run-of-the-mill mobs, I'll open with it, spam Chain Fences and rotate Electric Fence, holding off on Tesla Cage until there's only one mob standing (or leave two immobilized and one held).Well... Electric Control also has an aggro-free Seeds of Confusion clone whose only significant disadvantages (on a Controller) are a slightly longer propogration time and a chance to critically miss. Endurance drain by itself is not what I considered a serious "main line" control ability. It does help out from time to time but like Ice and its -Recharge its more insurance than a replacement for actual mezzes.
