I agree, I'd love to see a couple more leveling paths for both Heroes and Villains. I'd like high quality stuff -- with more engaging game play elements and a minimum of the old school "Jack's whack-a-mole" design. But there doesn't have to be a ton of stuff, either, I'll use DFB to boost myself past levels so I can get at a new arc.

Since this costs resources, I'd propose that it be sold. That's fair to players and Paragon Studios. Make it cheap -- say $5 for one small set of Hero and Villain arcs (for both, not each) and if the arcs sell well make a second set of arcs again for $5.

I'd pay a one time fee of $5 to have some more content in the 1-15 level range.
  2. Bots are ranged. So is FF. Buff your friends from range.
  3. I think Posi explicitly posted that it wouldn't. The two character slot deal was specifically for boxes purchased before Sept. 14th. After that, that part of the offer was withdrawn.

I think there's still just a bit of complexity here that we don't know about. Zwill posted yesterday acknowledging this fact and (I think) promised an update soon ish. I hope a bit more light is shed. Folks like to know what they're getting.
  4. Mids: http://www.cohplanner.com/

Use the export feature to copy/paste your build here.

I also have questions, similar to the OP. I have SD/War Mace tanker and I was having trouble with the build. I'm now level 41 and I wanted to figure out how to finish this character.

First question is attack chain. What do I pick? What are the best? This is something that is hard to figure out in Mids.

Second question is SD, what should the "best" powers be? I think I have this one ok, but some input would be appreciated.

Also pool powers. I have Tough, I'm using Fly, but obviously I could now pick up CJ and not have to take Hover, so I wouldn't loose a power pick. Are there any other "must" have pool powers? What about Epics?

Finally, set bonuses. Unlike the OP, I'm not a fan of Regen unless I can stack with some. I also felt the set was a bit slow, so I was thinking +Recharge. Buckets and buckets of +Recharge. Getting Shield Charge down to 30 sec recharge would be hoot. Incarnate, I assume I'll have to go Cardiac, but I'll wait until I get there to see.

    Thanks!
  5. Just trying to recollect Dr. Graves' arc, I remember that the tutorial on the Ferries you get early on is excellent. Don't change that one. Just add the ferry bits to Arbiter Bacon so you can review the info if you need to.

What else could go on Arbiter Bacon.

    1. Enhancements. This is important, because people on the help channel are super confused. How to slot. WHAT to slot. Where to buy and sell. What to do with extra Enh (Sell Them!). TOs, DOs., SOs. SOs from Death from Below (They're great! Do some Death From Below).

    2. Insp.
3 How to use the market.
    4. Where is the dang vault?
    5. Where is the LFG queue? How to use?
    6. How do I fly? Where is the pool powers?
    7. Targeting, Assisting, Melee + Follow to find a target
    8. Where is the dang help menu? Should I read it (yes!).
    9. How do I invite, form teams, kick, SELECT A MISSION SO THE TEAM CAN SEE IT, abandon a mission, auto complete a mission, use /search & Find Member, set my "Looking for Team Flag".
    10 Recap Ferry/Tram system

ok, that was a very off the cuff list of things to learn. I hope more are contributed.
  6. I actually like the new content, for the most part. Overall it's a vast improvement over the previous stuff. I think that has to be acknowledged.

However, the extended tutorials, while great arcs, are a bit lacking as actual extended tutorials.

One thing esp red side I found that the 2nd group of arcs (where you "play the hero") just kinda mentioned things but didn't really instruct you at all. At least blue side Proton says "Go get some enhancements kid." I don't recall being told actually do anything red side. Just "Zephyr gave away his enhancement powers, that was dumb."

So I'd propose a small change. Add one NPC who's job it is to instruct us about these things. Blue side, the hero you saved would work. He's grateful, so he'll take the time to tell you about stuff. Red side, I got no ideas, so let's just add Arbiter Bacon to Port Oaks whose long suffering job it is to explain the ropes to noobs.

At various points in the extended tutorial, you're directed to this new contact who gives you a wall of text about the stuff you need to learn about. Like in the first part of the level 10 arc, you could be directed to this person by Proton/your mysterious benefactor to learn more about enhancements.

If you approach this new NPC out side of these arcs, you get a menu of "tell me more about a subject" so you can review what you learned before, or even re-read the info on a character that hasn't done the extended tutorial. This should work a bit like Prometheus's text, where there's submenus so you can cram all the info into their text box.

That's what I got. Good luck.

This. Just took my Bots/FF on an Eden Trial today, did quite well (rest of team was awesome). Bubble team, run Dispersion and leadership toggles, follow Tank into melee. Once per fight, order Assault bot and Drones to go aggressive and attack one boss. (I leave my Protector bots on Defensive for the Bodyguard.)

Aside from giving out some directions (I was leading), TPing people and using Aid Other and Resuscitate a couple of times, that's all I did.
  8. Yeah, I don't think you get more than a Tier 2, but you do get a free month of VIP, and all the Tier 2 rewards listed above, as well as GR content permanently on your account.
  9. Yes, as well as Supergroup access.

I can tell this guy is gonna be tough. Overpower'd? maybe.

Let us know when you get your Incarnate slot, I'd like to see how that plays out.

Edit: well I shouldn't say "no problem." You have to use Insp and assess opponents carefully, even kite them to kill them. But it doesn't seem to take much effort. Stand still and try to slog it out, yes you won't have as much luck.

    Priestly hero

On the left is "Earthly Monk". Hood, full beard (grey), baggy top, baggy long pants, and a cord for a belt. Body is "gigantic" but I used the "average" icon to tone the proportions down a bit.

I gave him the simple long bow as a weapon (not shown) and the Alpha body combat aura. And wings, cause that's how I roll.

    god help me.....

Yeah, pets now are completely immune to recharge buffs and debuffs. Something to due with their AI. I don't understand why it should matter, but there it is.

    villain capes

Probably Mr. Rodney, a Goldbrick in Cap au Diable. He's in New Haven neighborhood. By the mansion -- actually in the maze/garden in front, under the statue.

    Location: (-319.2, 3.0, -1790.4).

    few questions

Ah, you may be good to go then.

Since you're a returning player, you already had a token for applying a retail code.

Applying a second retail code gets you more VIP time, and 400 points apparently, but it's not supposed to get you another token. Iirc.

Thanks for any help. Im a returning player from launch back in 2004. Lots have changed and I haven't played since villains came out.

If you are returning, you should have some reward tokens already from being previously subscribed. Did you look? How many tokens do you have now?

Also, what date did you subscribe? It matters because it looks like Sept was kinda screwed up due to it being the launch month. If you bought your VIP sub in October I believe you should have gotten your reward token right away.

This is an idea I like very much. I think it would work. The current base design is very tedious. Allowing us to just pick predesigned rooms would make it much much easier to work with bases. Also, this should give us longer hallways, and hallways which allow a few items to be placed in them.

Other idea: Separate storage from containers, so that if you don't loose items if you delete a storage container. Items should be stored in the base, not the container. The container is just how you access your storage.

I believe it's 5. "First purchase" is anything, including a subscription. It doesn't have to be points. Then your 3 month subscription gives you 3 more tokens. Total 5, including the first one everybody gets.
  19. I was told emphatically that they do count. (Just wait 'til Kit gets here.) Thus, 5 tokens should be had for $45, or 3 months subscription.

You get the first one free. You get the second for any purchase or applying a retail code.

Tokens 3, 4, and 15 cost $15 each. Or three months subscription. That's how it works, as best as I know.

  21. Yeah, they should add a new TF with 20 of the largest Oranbega maps with kill all objectives, which spawns an invasion by this Super Zombie, who then has a 1% chance of dropping a component you need to craft your Titanic weapon.
  22. The Dust Cannon was there after release. Let me check...

This. Name him "Super Zombie" in honor of this thread. And get him a cape, 'cause that's you know, super.

  24. I could see not having a credit card, but debit cards are a fantastic convenience. I can withdraw money any time and I don't have to wait for a teller, plus there's far more ATMs than bank locations. Not to mention cash back, which turns almost any store into a bank.

"A quarter" sounds high but perhaps you are right.
