IOW My grammar isn't the best, but I try to the best of my ability.

What prompted this was that more and more people believe this is appropriate behaviour over the global channels en masse and it's coming to the point where its moved beyond tolerable.

I can understand someone saying sh** just as they faceplant in the midst of a ambush gank.

But just spamming the chat with a whole bunch of profanity, racial slurs, sexuality bashing and, sexually charged comments is a bit much.
It's odd that you say there's so much of it. I play on Freedom, which as we all know is "a wretched hive of scum and villainy" and I see this kind of behavior only very rarely. I play during close to peak hours too, so I'm pretty sure that's not it either. Maybe it's just you?
  2. The thread about softcapping to 3 positions got me thinking about giving the softcapped S/L and ranged idea a try with my upcoming ice/elec blapper. The build I came up with is below. Is it a viable build?

I can get within about 0.5% of softcapped to both S/L and ranged if I'm running hover, but is hover a viable tactic if I'm going to be in melee? I think I'll be okay on end usage, but I haven't run the numbers yet.

    So does anyone have suggestions/improvements?

  3. I have to ask, is this really that big of an issue?

I'm pretty free with the swearing, both in real life and in-game. I don't do it a lot in broadcast or other open channels, but that's mostly because I don't have reason to use that kind of language, it does happen though. I'm quite free with the swearing though once I'm on a team, even when it's a PuG with a bunch of people I don't know.

That being said, in the 18 months I've played this game (totaling up several thousand hours of playtime, with a total of 10 50s) I've never had a single person tell me that they were offended by my swearing and ask me to stop.
  4. After looking a little more, I'm thinking ice/elec/elec looks good. I plan to take frost breath, ice storm, and static discharge too, I can't stand blasters with no AoE. My other question is do I really need 4 holds? I don't solo much if that matters.
  5. I've done several blasters, but they've all been pure ranged, and I'd like to try a blapper for my next character. I'm looking at ice/elec and it's looking pretty good to me. Anyone else played one? Does it make a good blapper? What's a good epic pool to go with it? What powers are good to take/skip? Thanks for the advice.
  6. It's not reporting them wrong. Since bosses and LTs have higher drop rates than minions, the program turns them into "minion equivalents". So it's dividing 17 drops by 600 "minion equivalents" to get that 2.83% number.

As far as bosses go, I'll start including bosses in my BM farm runs, it won't slow me down too much I don't think.
  7. The only other significant difference is that tanker fire melee and scrapper melee have a couple different powers.

Tankers get combustion which is a PbAOE.
Scrappers get Cremate, which is single target.

All other powers are the same.
  8. Make a storm/energy defender. Make sure to take Gale, Hurricane, Tornado, Lightning Storm, and all your blasts. Do not take O2 boost, steamy mist, freezing rain, or snow storm, those powers are too useful. Fill in the rest of your slots with miscellaneous pool powers. Bonus points if you take kick and/or whirlwind. Slot your powers with nothing but accuracy and knockback. Use your knockback powers indescriminately, with no regard for your teammates or what's around you. Congratulations, you're now useless.

Actually, you're not so much useless as you are a danger to yourself and others, but it'd still be fun.
  9. SS/Fire/Mu. The carnage will be unbelievable. Don't believe the people who tell you rage isn't useful with a pocket kin. Unless the kin spends a TON of money on recharge bonuses, one kin can't keep a brute damage capped all the time. And don't forget the big to-hit bonus from it too.

If you plan on running lib farms at all, stay away from shield. Those nemesis eat defense-based characters alive.
  10. I'll start doing this and send you some log files as well.
  11. Redside, claws brutes are definitely FOTM at the moment. Every other low-level brute I see is rockin' the claws.

    Round 3 P.P.

I'll be satisified when EVERYTHING is proliferated.
  13. I have no money problems on any of my toons anymore, and have done a ~2 billion build, and several 500+ million builds. All in all I have over 5 billion worth of stuff on all my characters. I've never managed to join the billionaire's club though. I can't seem to hold on to my money long enough. It's generally spent long before I get close to that amount of liquid cash. I often try to give away inf, either to lowbies, or through quick, random costume contests and I've run into the same thing the OP mentioned. Some people think you're trying to one-up them if you give them money.

    Soloing AV

In the old system you had to set the difficulty to 5 to get AVs at all, but they generally spawned at even level or +1 at the most. There is a quite noticeable difference in difficulty between soloing an even level AV and a +1 AV too. I've taken on a couple of +2s, but they were very tough to beat. Never tried a +3 before. I might have to now.
  15. Is this patch live yet? I ran a couple farm missions on live this afternoon and was still seeing the same low drop rates from before.
  16. I learned something else about it the other day too. It causes more aggro than blaster powers do.

I'd suggest keeping the same mechanic, but having a second cap around 40% that applies to stacking Armors, Pool Powers, certain buffs, and IO bonuses. This cap could only be exceeded by Tier 9 powers, Energy Absorption, and other abilities that should emulate a g-d mode. Soft capped mitigation values should never be available 100% of the time.
I disagree with this in the strongest possible way. I would be EXTREMELY upset if the 5 months I spent earning the 1.8 billion influence needed for my fire/sr AV soloing build was suddenly meaningless because I could no longer hit the defense softcap.

I am very much against any defense changes, whether it be in the sets themselves, the mechanic, or the values of IO set bonuses.

I'm all for buffing resistance bonuses in IO sets and adding more of them on the other hand.
  18. Well, for one thing, I don't think we're going to see any major defense numbers in any of the purple sets. It's not really needed. It's already pretty easy to softcap a defense-based toon to all the positions/types, I honestly don't think we need more defense IOs.

I would LOVE to see more resistance offered by IO sets, I really don't know why there's the huge disparity between defense bonuses and resist bonuses in the already-existing IO sets.

Actual damage bonuses are pretty few and far between, and we already have a ton of damage procs, which are essentially damage bonuses, except better, because they don't apply to the damage cap, and they can give you access to damage types you didn't have before.

I'm not sure what you mean by 15% end. reduction. If you mean actual global endurance reduction for all your powers, I don't think we have ANY IOs that give that at the moment, and it would probably be a little too powerful (especially 15%). If you mean endurance recovery, again, we already have some hefty recovery boosters in the Numina's and Miracle uniques.

Now what I would really love to see are more categories of purple sets added. Like healing purples, or endmod purples, or debuff purples, or defense and resistance purples. Maybe that would open things up for new bonuses as well.
  19. Just to add some more data to the pool, I ran 2 Battle Maiden farms last night with my fire/kin. Both were set to x8, +0 and I cleared the whole board (except for the AV spawn) each time. I was by myself and got a total of 11 recipes in 2 runs.
  20. I've noticed this showing up too.
  21. I ran a couple Battle Maiden farms today, both with my wife tagging along and doorsitting. It was set to spawn for 6, at +2 levels. Between the two of us, in those 2 runs, we got a total of 10 recipes, only 1 of which was a non-generic. I ran a third farm later on, with 2 other people on the team (3 total), with the exact same difficulty settings, and between my wife and I we got 6 recipes. Something's definitely up here.
  22. Okay, if that's the way it's supposed to work I probably won't bother with a support ticket. Just recreate or delete them.
  23. I just came back from a short (around a month and a half) break from the game. I got burnt out and decided to quit for awhile and come back once I16 was live. When I came back today, I found out all my leveling pacts with my wife's characters were broken (she kept her account active while I was gone). Is this supposed to happen, or was it a bug of some sort. If I contact support will they be able to do anything for me?
  24. It's possible I was just mapserved, but I was sitting at the computer when it happened, I just hadn't pressed any buttons for a few minutes. And the message definitely said something about being logged out due to inactivity. Maybe it was a bug, and it just popped up the wrong message?
  25. It happened when I was afk in a mission. The phone rang and I stopped playing for a while, but was still at my desk, and I noticed it kicking me off after a bit. If this is WAI, I'm quite disappointed. Getting Born in Battle just got exponentially harder.
