And this highlights the easiest solution to the problem as well.

Past about level 30 or so, it's trivially easy to get enough money to replace SOs every 5 levels, and SOs are still the standard by which content difficulty in the game is judged.

A character running on SOs only will have several million spare inf sitting around by the time they get to level 50, just from enemy drops.

Therefore, reduce the amount of inf dropped by enemies to just enough for people to replace SOs every 5 levels and leave all other drop rates alone. That reduces the total amount of inf entering the game while keeping the amount of "stuff" entering the game constant, and over time will reduce, stop, or possibly even reverse inflation.
  2. That's right, I have another Gladiator's Armor +3% Def for sale. Level 50 crafted IO, Heroside on Freedom.

3 billion buys it now, otherwise make me an offer and we'll see what happens.
  3. I would suggest making the message for incarnate shard drops blue. It makes sense for multiple reasons.

First off, it's a color that's not used for any other drops, so it would be unique.

Second, the common/uncommon/rare color codes follow the color codes for the conning system. Incarnate shards are more common than common incarnate components, ergo, following the same system, they should be blue.
  4. More IO sets is never a bad thing. I'm onboard.

I have trouble believing that you have 2 trillion inf in liquid assets.
  6. I tried one up to about 30 when the set first came out, and gave up on it.

I loved the way it looked, but I hated the way it felt to play. The animations were way too long, and the redraw of DP/MM bugged the crap out of me. The damage felt mediocre at best, and the secondary effects were underwhelming.

If some people like it, that's great for them. It's not for me though.
  7. Not to a great degree, but I am a big fan of fire blast and willpower.

I have 2 level 50 fire blasters, another in his 20s, and a fire/dark corruptor in her teens.

I've had a couple others that got deleted cause I didn't like the secondary.

I have a level 50 willpower scrapper and brute, with 2 more scrappers in their 30s. I've had a couple that got deleted because I didn't like their primaries.
  8. Congrats. It just gets easier from here.

Well, they're technically 'right', but they don't give out the information that they should. The accuracy number of a power should tell you what percentage chance that power has to hit an enemy. Telling you that the pet placement is auto-hit is worthless.

I'm also curious whether you're talking about the giant tentacles (which I saw) or something actually beneath the surface of the water (which I definitely didn't, and will need to look for).

So if your vigilante gets all of the mayhem mission exploration badges, they'll get Invader as soon as they complete the alignment mission that switches them to villain.

Also, if you switch sides with an accolade, you get the opposing side's corresponding accolade, whether you have the appropriate badges or not.
Okay, so if I wanted invader instead of TF commander, I'd have to go full villain to get it. Bummer.

    Accolades

Do I have to be a full on villain to get villain accolades, or can I get them as a Vigilante?
  13. It would be nice to have this fixed (on actual zoning, not the Apex TF), but I think it might be kind of difficult to do. It seems to me like the amount of time that you are 'in' the mission and can be attacked before you get to take control of your character isn't static. It seems to be based on how fast/slow you load the mission map. So setting up anything with a static duration might not work so well.
  14. Gladiator's Armor +def for sale. Level 50, on freedom. 3 billion or best offer. Feel free to post here, PM me, or send me a tell @Firespray42 in-game.
  15. I'm definitely not. I've got 2 or 3 out of my 8 50s that I still really enjoy playing. Those will probably become incarnates, the others won't.
  16. Add me to the list of people for SR. My softcapped perma-hasten fire/sr scrapper is the tightest build I ever made. I literally did not have a single spare power pick or slot in that build. To the degree that I couldn't even take a travel power.

With inherent fitness, I was able to fit in not only a travel power, but assault for extra damage and the mini-stamina in body master so I had the end to run it.
  17. I ran it with my softcapped fire/sr scrapper and had some serious issues as well.

I don't mind that the devs are essentially using dirty tricks to make the game more difficult for all the softcapped people, as long as it's done sparingly.

It's not fun for my entire secondary to become dead weight too often though.
  18. Go fire/mm if you want massive ranged damage. Pick the right powers and you'll have 3 nasty high-damage, quick animating ST attacks, and as many as 5 ranged AoEs. Fire/mm is my absolute favorite blaster combo.

I know recharge is nice, but they're already perma'd. Purples sets make the acc boost unneeded. No endurance issues because domination refills the bar and inspirations fill the holes. Guess I could do damage, but all their attack powers are in the 90% area for their attacks. Any suggestions?

    My doms are: Fire/Psi, Plant/Fire, Mind/Nrg
Go musculature. Remember that for the ultra-rares, 2/3 of the enhancement bonus bypasses ED. For core paragon, that's 30% damage buff for all powers, plus another 15 that is subject to ED.

Since the spiritual doesn't affect domination, musculature is what I'll be doing.

It wasn't really that. It was just that I didn't think about it when I bid on 8 purples last weekend. I checked yesterday and all of them had filled, but the prices for the crafted IOs had dropped well below what I paid for the recipes.

    Soloing +4/x8?

My fire/sr scrapper can do it. He's not that fast though, since he doesn't do much AoE damage. He's softcapped with perma-hasten, and the build cost me about 2 billion. This was at a point when things were much cheaper though (I bought most of my purples for around 100 million each), so the same build would be significantly more expensive today.

    Ill/Rad for I19

I see a few little things I would do differently in your build, but that doesn't mean what you did is wrong. I don't have the purple damage recipes, which gives you some leeway in slotting. The only purples in my build are in Deceive and two in Phantom Army. If you don't have those purple recipes yet, they are going to be VERY expensive. There are ways to build a Perma-PA Ill/Rad without those expensive purple damage sets. If you take a look at my Ill/Rad guide, you can see a build to get Perma PA that will be a bit less expensive than what you have. Of course if you have them already, then they are great to use.

Personally, I prefer the Fire APP. Fire Blast and Fireball do a little more damage than Ice Blast and Frost Breath. Plus, Frost Breath is a cone, which is more limited than the Targetted AoE of Fireball. The downside is that you get a Resistance Shield instead of a Defense shield, but if I'm getting hit much, then I'm probably doing something wrong. It also opens an option for WHEN (not IF) I do things wrong -- Rise of the Phoenix is the only self-Rez available to Controllers, great in the battlefield. (However, I didn't actually take it.)

I considered Fallout and didn't take it. For a team-oriented power, I felt that Recall Friend would provide more benefit. Fallout is very situational. It is not bad (I have it on my Earth/Rad), but I find that I use it very rarely unless somebody decides to be "Fallout bait" -- most people rez to get back into the action before I remember to use the power.
Thanks for the advice. I don't have any of the IOs for this build yet, but I've got enough money burning a hole in my pocket for the purples I'll need. My market-fu is strong. However, I considered ditching 3 of the purple sets (the 2 damage and the hold) and going with the spiritual core paragon, since it would save me probably 4 or 5 billion inf on the build.

I'll consider switching to the fire APP as well. I haven't soloed much with this character really, so I don't have a very good idea of how much aggro PA will take off of me and whether I'll need the defense from ice shield.

I also forgot about recall friend, which I had planned to take. How much do you use hover? I may drop that for recall friend, just because I think fallout is interesting, and want to try it out.

    Ill/Rad for I19

I've got an Ill/rad at level 47. My plan is to make a character that can solo AVs and GMs. My pre-I19 build was already made, and had perma-PA, which was the goal of the character. I've changed it to account for inherent stamina by adding group invisibility, fallout, and hover. If you have suggestions of better powers to add, I'd love to hear them.

What I'm really looking for though, is advice on what alpha slot to go for. Recharge seems a bit superfluous, although I suppose I could completely redo the build to take the extra recharge from an alpha-slotted character into account. I'm not sure if endurance reduction will be necessary or not, since I haven't played the character with his final build yet. Damage would be nice , but I'm not sure how much of my damage will come from me and how much will come from pets. I can't see much of a reason at all to take the accuracy one. Any suggestions?
