Or, y'know, try to educate the ones that are willing to learn.

There is zero that would be different from what I said, excepting that depending on his secondary he may have a self-heal that requires him to close with hami.

Quote:This and the rest and also with the earlier point that a SG that wants you immediately in SG Mode (unless it's brand new and they should be up front with you about that - you get to be in on the ground floor of a SG construction) only see you as a Prestige Mule.Any SG that will immediately accept you as a member, knowing nothing about you, will accept anyone and isn't an SG you want to be part of.
...
Odds are they are caught up in the Top # junk and only see you as a means to an end, 'cause if they have everything in the base they need, they don't need more prestige. -
The ability to fire three rounds a minute in any weather and stand to the enemy and fig...wait, sorry wrong manual.
Here's the basic breakdown:
A hami tank needs 10+ points of kb protection - if the tank has it built into his set, he's gold, otherwise 3 kb IOs or Acro with a kb IO.
Taunt.
A ranged attack helps keep aggro - Nem Staff isn't optimal, but I've seen it work simply by upping the dmg inflicted ups the Threat, but to the best of my knowledge, it doesn't transfer Gauntlet.
A semi-decent buff team of 2-3 emps and a kin. The emps spam +regen on the tank and CM on everyone, the kin spams SB on everyone.
The tank should know a spot where he's going and coordinate with the Green targeter as to which mito they're to going first. Also, if a hami tank is in a place where they're getting hit by 5 greens and not moving (gently) to knock that number down, then you need a backup tank. Also the tank really shouldn't run like a trackstar around in the goo - pick a good spot (not under a green) and stay there. Your support team will not follow you around, figuring it's better to let you die and a competent tank replace you.
For my DA, it was all of the above, except I was probably closer to the Hami than any other tank I use, because its self-heal is an AoE attack. -
Quote:I'm done with the thread. I could never equal, much less surpass, that post.If someone's trying to play baseball and using their face as the bat, would you tell them there's a better way, or just let them "enjoy their playstyle?" Because, frankly, that's what the "need a healer" folks are doing. Making things far more painful for themselves than it has to be, and leaving a mess for others to clean up.

I have 4 SGs on Justice - one started with a friend (who no longer plays), my personal one although I take in wayward strays, my storage one, and one for the Mentor Project.
I have a personal VG there as well.
I also have a SG and VG on Freedom, again only other members are strays.
I have all porters and storage and everything else in them.
Why do I not care about the lack of /sg talk? Global Channels.
Small group of friends in a global channel > SG. -

Quote:Please allow me to introduce you to World's Best Healer, a kat/da scrapper. Finally, in the last 3 days I have seen so many heros with the word "Healer" in their name. (All empaths).
As for the rest, I agree. One of the things I try to do with new players in the Mentor Project is to educate them on why I will personally laugh at them if they ever ask for a healer.
Good news is that most seem to quickly grasp that buff/debuff > heals and that def =/= healer. -
There's a suggestion for this in the Suggestions and Ideas forum.

Johnny Butane made a lucid post describing the problem with the i12 Invul tank and it was buffed in i13.

Quote:Hmm.The new Positron TFs are rather stingy with the merits. Any chance they can be reviewed and scaled up some?
Based on my "average" times Positron 1 should be 19 Merits based on the 3.7 Merits per minute. Positron 2 should be 21 Merits by the same formula.
Now that the new car smell is wearing off Positron TF it should be time to make sure the rewards are "correct"
Thanks
19 merits divided by 3.7 merits per minute yields 5.13 minutes. I'd like to join your next Posi1 run.
In any event, the new Posi came out 2 months ago - that's probably the start of when they'd have enough data to consider changing it. Give 'em time. -
If you have a full account (not trial) sign up for the Mentor Project.

I'd also recommend signing up for the Mentor Project, linked in my signature.

Ouro, Cim, Hive, Abyss, BB, SC, WB, RV have not had their restrictions changed.

Also, I reject the premise in the OP that few require all to give you the *full* benefit. Are there IO sets out there that don't give any set bonuses up to and including the final IO?
Now, whether or not they may be desirable is another matter, but as stated it makes it seem that for example, a 6 IO set may only give bonuses for 1-4 but nothing for 5 & 6. -
Or faulty logic.
Again though, it may just be part of a learning process.
