I'm considered it rumor untill a friend said he seen it on an interview online somewhere .. so for now ill accept pvp as it is now and hope for the future -

Okay I'm going to post up a mature reply to your post Stone Daemon. I'm not doing this because you deserve it. I'm doing it because I don't want you to think the "LOL GTFO BADDO" responses you're getting are indicative of the people on this forum hiding their "wrongness" behind a mask of 1337 memes and adolescant humor. They're not wrong, they're just bored of talking about "honor" and inspirations.
First of all, there is no such thing as "honor" in a video game. I don't fight with honor in Tekken, Street Fighter, Fallout 3, COD4, L4D, Chess, Monopoly, tic tac toe, etc. I play to win. City of heroes is a VIDEO GAME and there is no such thing as honor in a video game. I play it to win it.
I know a lot of players invest a lot of time & in-game money in their characters. But that is no excuse to use your character as an extension of yourself. Realise that if you're asking someone else to CHANGE THE WAY THEY ARE PLAYING to accomodate you, than you are being ridiculous.
In short: Play 2 win. It's a game.
Secondly, not using inspirations shows a clear lack of skill. It shows that you're not able to ration how often you use them. It shows you don't know which ones to bring to counter different enemies / different situations. Inspirations act as YET ONE MORE THING you need to micro-manage. (The player not using inspirations has one less thing to worry about and thusly has an easier time operating his character.) To this end, it takes more skill to use inspirations than to not use them.
But let's get into why you thought that people should fight "with honor" and "without inspirations".
Something I find very often in newbies is something I call REGEN BIAS. This is a mindset many new players (or bad players) have by which they think that PVP should exist in a way that makes them as good as they are in PVE. This isn't unique to regen scrappers or even scrappers as a whole, but it is so ridiculous that most serious people just tend to respond to them with "LOL FITEKLUB GTFO". (In the same way you would tell a crazy man to "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME.")
It's called "regen bias" because most regen scrappers subscribe to this mentality. Regen scrappers don't need to use inspirations; so they wrongly assume their enemies don't need to either. Regen scrappers are durable enough to stand and fight "with honor"; so they wrongly assume their enemies are capable of this also.
What players suffering Regen Bias don't realise is that different archetypes survive by different methods. Scrappers and tanks survive by being innately durable. But blasters & other ranged damage characters must survive by being evasive. Stalkers have to survive by being stealthy. It all makes sense if you take the time to consider what the different characters have to do to kill & stay alive in PVP.
Stone Daemon I hope you don't take any of the hostility shown towards you on a personal level. It's not you the PVP regulars are raging at, it's more what you represent. You represent a large contingent of the PVP population which is not prepared to educate themselves to how PVP ACTUALLy works & will instead moan and whine and hope the developers change things. This is what lead to thee atrocious changes in Issue 13... something that ruined the game for a lot of the more serious PVPers among us. I suppose in this new light you can understand the hostility? It was people "like you" that caused this game's PVP to be changed in the first place.
Inspirations arent dishonorable its just a piece of the game mechanics to be used as needed i use them on every toon i have.. to survive is just as much part of pvp/pve gaming as to kill lol
The general feeling of pve overpowerment in comparison to pvp feelings of squishyness lol Most newer people to pvp prei13 or after go threw this adjustment.
On a side note sometimes the forums are a little umm "egocentic" lol been here since cov went live.. didnt register or post for long time

I pvp'd pre i13 and post i13 does .. causually pvp'd bout 3yrs ago as time went on i got more n more into it and within last yr and a half i pvp regularly
The regualr posters have no idea who i am .. does that make my opinion any less credible? even if i was new to pvp does that mean i should be automatically laughed at..
Chill guys lighten up on people .. it really does chase people away .. without new or old people in the zone u get less recipies lol for that reason alone play nice on the forums lol

For example a stone/anything, you drop sands and quakes .. it help's when the stalkers come for yummy troller meat ... but damage can be an issue so its nice to have friends or team hanging with you for the damage output.
I got an emp i fly around healing people n tossing buffs n she got gr8 hold .. if you dont mind being support trollers are alot fun. and some do ok damage it all depends on what you consider viable and fun for pvp
Dont expect to go head to toe with every AT
Try a defender they have a little more durabilty i think

I dont think you see as many trollers/def's because support for them is min. at best we heal we buff we set debuffs and the damage dealers all run away after that 1 target leaving the squishies behind as stalker food lol.
Think if we saw some actual team work other than simply calling target and running things might change ..
or maybe another pvp nerf.. umm i mean revamp is needed
I actually like playing trollers more in pvp its better than the typical bash n smash but troller emblem is like a sign saying im yummy lol eat me -

There have been a couple of games that had a decent crafting aspect to it.. one ill use as an example ..
SWG had an impressive system before the nerf's.. after i saw many people leave and those people still search for that same style of play in other games ..
Even before LOTRO went live swg people flocked there asking for crafting i was amazed lol

My point is COX isnt and never was a crafting game with a economy that merited attention from the devs. Markeeters take this way too seriously and quite simply the fact you feel hated means you might feel guilty about something. lol

In theyre attempts to please the crafting/sellers who were looking for homes or to reshape a game in ways that would please them.. the devs tried to incorporate crafting and marketing into the game
Its not really a failure or success its just more of a distraction for them. They dont really care and they prove this by adding more forms of merits and rewards into a game that is slowly becoming a grandmothers quilt of various colors lol

Watching the combat tab it helps in know a stalker is nearby sometimes but 99% time it says the kb missed and said stalker is already in que for assasin striking my butt lol.
other than io bonuses its more of an end pig than a useful tool in pvp ..

I have toons with KB and toons without ... nuff said bout that .. im not predjudiced but alot people here are vs melee toons ...
I have been on my tank n had people ask me to team n help out only to find a couple players kb happy .. cause its cool lookin using gale or energy attacks even warshades blasting all over the place.
They ask for help, i agree, they want me to keep agro but scatter foes and agro groups over said agro caps lol Ill stay n help as i agrred to but wont hang too much longer. it can be frustrating, (NO Not Lazy!) the fact some want toss insults 1st means they play selfishly imo..
When playing a toon with KB i try to be reasonable with my attacks n use best judgement when on my melee toons i try to be understanding that they want to have fun and play a game.
Kins as already mentioned well sux to have ur heals miss..
KB can be a very frustrating power for melee toons and ive had days where i dont want to put up with it for too long.. lets face it alot people wont even wait for ur trollers to pin em down .. they blast happy lol.
Play a tank (a good tank) and try to lead and keep ur team alive with blast happy players lol it can get old lol.
You want to play your toon n kb friendly if poosible if you attitude is my fun is all that matters .. and if ur ranged or melee i really dont care .. if u r all that matters .. please dont ask for my help and add me to ignore i dont want to play with you

What really needs to be removed is travel suppression and heal decay, and I wouldn't be too opposed to dropping the base resistances either. The problem with the changes as a whole is they took balance from team encounters in favor of balance for 1v1 encounters, and everything's about damage now. Under the old rules there were some builds that didn't win because of damage output, but because of attrition - they wore their opponent down over a 10-minute match. With the new rules, everything's focused on damage and there are very few real attrition builds that are still viable. In a 1v1 situation under the old rules, the rock/paper/scissors metaphor applied, unless the participants were using similar builds, and in that case the better build would win assuming equal skill. Under the new rules, none of that has changed, but everything's been slowed down and essentially having skill lopped off at the top instead of being boosted from the bottom means being "good" doesn't mean nearly as much as it did before.
Thing is, rewards shouldn't be what brings a player in. The system should be reward enough by merit of having fun while doing it. Hell, there were no PvP rewards from I4 until I12, and yet PvP garnered a respectable population. Fact of the matter is most MMO players aren't in it for the PvP. They don't want to PvP, they despise having PvP forced on them, for whatever reason. Rewards aren't going to illicit anything more than a short-lived curiosity from most people, and when they find they can't just magically waltz into a PvP environment and win like they do in PvE, they'll get frustrated and leave. A PvEer is very unlikely to just wake up one morning and decide they want to PvP - more often than not a PvEer becomes a PvPer because they go into a PvP environment and say "hey, that was fun," or they've got friends who try to get them into it, and they all have fun together, regardless of the reward.

To the OP the drops havent effected the population much in my opinion -
i have flying tanks, scrappers and stalkers no one laughs and i see quite a few besides mine.. im on freedom and with the ease of getting flightpacks now u see almost anything in the air ..
No one laughing or chuckling on freedom in RV anyways i never go to sirens .. pretty common nowadays to see anything in the air -
Myself and a friend will show up i can load whatever is needed so we both shall go to zone before the raid and swtich to whatever toons r needed but add 2 people to the total count

my husband and i were teaming with two characters, both level 35. he was the team leader, and they were his missions. now, because of the ssk, i was auto sidekicked, whatever, doesn't make sense to me at that level, but i'm assuming that it makes no difference as far as xp goes. but thats what brings me to my point. i was receiving twice the xp he was for mission completes, all the other xp was the same as each other. why was the mission complete different? can anyone answer this? -

So, no, the XP should *NOT* have remained identical. It *SHOULD* have gone up, on a per enemy basis, after some people left the team.
hm, let me clarify that last line. The rewards granted from each enemy are affected by team size. The larger the team, the more each enemy awards. However, the reward is DIVIDED among the team and the increase is LESS than the effect of the division. So, on a larger team, each person gets less reward PER ENEMY defeated. However, a larger team will have more enemies spawn and will defeat them faster. In theory, this results in greater overall rewards per unit of time. In practice, team composition will have a major impact. But yes, as you noticed, on a smaller team, each person receives more per defeat. This is working as intended.
Thank you, as i guessed there was still a formula for calculating xp vs team.
So its not so much the lvl of the toons (as in the past) as it is team size now.

Team size was set to 8 man +2 with bosses .. mobs identical.. xp for minions, lt's n bosses should have remained the same. in all 3 missions, was repeated so call it a farm, done 3 times.
If anything my friends xp should have remained identical instead it was reduced untill the lowbies left.
maybe someone can test it, i dont know.. seems to be formular curve still being applied in some ways.
