Also, GR will give us the first bit of the Incarnate System.

It just seems like the money spent on Cov netted more "Bang for your buck," as it were.
CoV was $20-$30 more expensive than GR is/will be. So, if you're looking for 'bang for your buck' equity, GR will have to give us less since it costs less.

Actually there are two ways to get people who are not members of your SG into your base:

    1. Be on a team with the team leader belonging to the SG and the options of the SG set to allow teammates.

    2. Be in a coalition with the SG and the options of the SG set to allow coalition members.

So, if someone is running a CoP from their base and you already belong to a SG, you don't have to drop your SG. You either join the team of a member of that SG or you have your SG establish a coalition with the SG running the CoP.

There's nothing to suggest either way except that when it was clarified that this is divorced from Base Raids, they didn't say it was being divorced from Bases entirely.

One can always assume "as little work as possible" to get it working. Not out of laziness, but time constraints. If they can get this to scale for smaller groups than 24, that's great. But at what point is the cut-off? 20? 15? 3? And if they scale it for smaller numbers, then they have to code for that, and code to prevent soft loading the trial. It's just easier to say, "this was always meant to be a 24 person trial." Just like the new Hami is a 50 person Raid, though it can be done with less without it actually scaling... you just need the right builds and people.

Just like Issue 6: Along Came a Spider was the concurrent Issue that accompanied City of Villains, so, too, is Issue 18: Shades of Gray the concurrent Issue for Going Rogue.
  3. Tips Redux

In order to switch alignment, you need to do a Morality/Alignment Switching Mission. Doing Tip-Missions unlocks that Morality/Alignment Switching Mission.

With I18, you get access to Tip-Missions at no extra cost. However, you have to purchase Going Rogue as well as doing Tip Missions to unlock the Morality/Alignment Switching Mission

Tips drop from defeating level 20+ foes. Drop rate is unknown. The number of Tip missions is unknown. But, it *is* new *content* for 'free.'

Well, the absolute minimum would be 3 since you need to 'defeat' three guarded obelisks at the same time. Good luck with that!

The mission is balanced around 24 somewhat competent players with SOs. If you go with less than that, they better be able to pull their weight. Though, Shivans and Nukes might make up for lack of numbers.

In the original, each obelisk had a big spawn of Rularuu which was constantly respawning if you didn't move fast enough. Also, the GM is guarded by three constantly spawning Rularuu spawn points (the big floaty boxes).

It is unknown if I18 will allow folks to start the Trial outside a base, but, I'd start now to make sure my base had a Mission Computer and Trial Teleporter, which, isn't too difficult to do... I have them in my solo base on both sides.

You'd only need 3 people (the team leaders) to belong to the base to form the three teams. Just make sure your base options are set to allow the teammates of members to enter.

In I17, we saw the Dev Content Writers had access with their Dev tools to put in all types of Doppelgangers: foes that had the same powersets as the team leader (if not always the same exact power choices... they use the stock set picked by the powers team) and foes that looked exactly like the team leader or a variation of the team leader's costume.

I'm assuming the players who create the MA Missions will now have access to the same or similar tools as the Devs in creating "Doppelgangers."

But, you know, this only encourages me to rant more!!
  6. The value of the GROs is 16.66% Damage / 16.66 % RechRedux. Exactly equal to 2 DOs or 1 SO.

The procs of the 5 GROs are:
    • Will of the Seers: Psi Damage
    • Clockwork Efficiency: Energy Damage
    • Resistance Tactics: Smash Damage
    • Syndicate Techniques: Lethal Damage
    • Might of the Empire: Chance to knock down

The procs stop working at level 21, though, the Dam/Recharge works from levels 1-50. At level 21, any Dual Dam/Rech IO starts to have better values than the GROs. At level 35, keeping a GRO in your build is almost never worth it.
  7. Why are people so eager for Heroes to get access to the PPPs without having to cross over first?

I thought the consensus was that the PPPs are horribly underpowered signs of just how much the Devs hate villains that they should be nuked from orbit.

Now people are clamoring for them... without having to earn them?

Really, could it be made any more asymmetrically and show off what we can't do in the CC?

That is the best reading of what's been said.

So, a Ghost Widow Soul Mastery Pool for Tankers, Soul Mastery Pool for Scrappers, Soul Mastery Pool for Defenders, etc...

And a Sirocco Mu Mastery Pool for Tankers, Mu Mastery Pool for Scrappers, Mu Mastery Pool for Defenders, etc...

In this regard, level 50 Villains with the Patron Pool unlocked (with the level 41 Arc-Badge) will have access to the PPPs for their AT and the APPs for their AT. Heroes will only have the APPs for their AT unless they switch sides and do the Patron Arc for the badge, then they will have access to all the PPs for their AT (after that, they can go back to Heroing if they want).

Advantage, Villains. See, the Devs really hate Heroes.

Binds made before the breakage still work. New ones don't.

There are ways to get around it if you don't mind hitting Enter after the bind.
  12. Hey, Lighthouse_NA, if you send Nivienne a PM, you can get that "_NA" removed from your name if you want.
  13. It used to be rare to be the first post after a red name, but, after NCSoft bought out the IP and they became Paragon Studios, dev-posting became much more frequent. In fact, BAB's posting became so frequent that when folks FPARN!'d him, I quipped, "Being the first post after Back Alley Brawler is like taking a ticket in a deli; sooner or later, everyone's number is called." Someone then sigged it.

That change may have cost the lives of hundreds of people who would've gotten out of the buildings if they'd stood another 15-20 minutes.
Not to mention in other non-EU countries the building codes are a lot more lax and the corruption much more stringent.

    QFE.

I posted in the feedback thread twice that cce # CCEnergyMorph was not working. Do the Devs responsible for these things read the feedback threads anymore? Do QA or Production? Do the Mods who are supposed to bring these things to the Devs read official Feedback threads anymore?

Yeah, I know they're busy, but don't start a feedback thread if it's not going to be read. Our lives are busy, too.

And if the anger expressed here seems out of proportion to the situation, it's because this is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm sure the Devs know my rant by heart on how their Patch Notes process is broken. Great way to take a valuable resource (player testing and input) and let it go to waste.

    Sheesh.

They Devs *can* and *should* give us aliases for these two emote names so that cce # CCNinjaLeap and cce # CCEnergyMorph do work.

Will the player only be able to claim it in 2 billion increments?
2 Billion inf cap is a cap.

    A cap.

Getting around that with Market tricks is not a license to exceed the cap. If anything is done by the Devs that causes excess inf beyond to the cap to disappear, then, it's working as intended.

When asked, the Devs have always said using the Markets to get passed the cap is not WAI.

The Devs are being nice with all this warning so that people can get their affairs in order.

Yeah it's real. But the question is usually really simple, like (4 + 1) x 7 = ____. It's just a formality, it started over claiming lottery prizes if I remember right.
It's a formality that changes it from a game of chance (evil gambling) to a game of skill (do the math!). Yes, it was by chance you were picked, but you were picked at random to do the game of skill, which makes it a game of skill and not a game of chance, see?

Neither do I. It's a handwaving gesture designed to get around outdated laws which legislators and the public are too lazy to correct into something more reasonable and logical.

If you're a Canadian, do something about it.
