That just seems stupid.
How is it punishment? You're not suffering at all if you're pet doesn't perform up to standards and you're super surviving.
  2. That pic is just a joke from the OP, yo.
  3. I'd love a pack with better, actually normal hairstyles. Would also really help out with filling out niche areas, like designs on tights, or auras, weapons, backpacks, capes, etc.

Funny thing about this game, though, is the freedom to make anything fit whatever concept you want. Sure you might not be able to think of a way someone can hide with a giant weapon, but others can.
  5. The game's not built around IOs. To those that use SOs, which this game is built around, pets are pretty useful. Heck, even on my IO'd blaster, whenever I'm on a team or iTrial I keep my Gun Drone out and he seems to do just fine surviving.

Just state your opinion once and move on. All that needs to be done. Any more than that and things start turning into arguments and debates, with you developing a rep as "that guy" like a lot of other posters.
  7. I'll wait and see how the next costume pack with this new philosophy in mind turns out before passing judgement.

If the devs never again released costume parts I like, I'd probably still not complain.
Cool thing about that, though, is the fact that so many people play this game each for different reasons. This game offers fun gameplay, missions, and trials, so there's people who do that. It also offers an incredibly diverse costume creator that allows you to make so many great things like you mentioned, and some people play because of that. Think of all the people out there that have entire servers filled with alts just because they love to make new characters and concepts.

So it only makes sense that if the developers are screwing up the very thing that keeps you around, you'd complain about it. And I don't mean you specifically, I'm being general.
  9. They've managed to do tasteful tinting in the past, I remember that much. Where small details of a particular item would be slightly darker, and would sort of combine both colors you chose. I can't name any examples off the top of my head. But now it's more like "Hey, we want this costume part to be brown, so we're making it brown!" To name a few, the Cigarillo, a few GR pieces, and most of the Steampunk pack, including the most guilty costume part the Steampunk Backpack. Put that thing on white/white and you'll get brown/gray.

Then there's the recent issue of making the secondary color affect something pretty unnoticeable. For example, the Barbarian shoulders. Rather than making the first color affect the base and the straps and the second affect the trim for some really nice looking costumes, the first color affects the entire metal plate and the second affects the small straps. Or the Praetorian Police shoulder pads. The first color changes the entire shoulder pad except for a small design. The second color does nothing. That design is permanently gold.

David, don't take offense to some of us being a bit cynical or rude, but dude, something needs to change. And if we don't speak up before work's been done on a piece, then changes will never happen to the costume parts we want to love. The feedback threads get swamped with feedback, and yet costume parts still go live with all the same issues the people complained about.

That and we've heard the "We'll try not doing that in the future" approach before a few times, and we still got the Steampunk pack and Gunslinger pack with all their issues.
  10. Above the door to the Tram in Steel Canyon South, the "Next Stop" sign says Galaxy City. I imagine that, with the current crisis going on there and the devs sealing the zone off from the players, someone might want to tell the people running the tram to stop shipping citizens there.

  11. I'm not.

I think it's cool and all, I have no problems with it. I just want to get Staff Fighting more. Plus I'm not really up for spending points on stuff I'll never use.

I gotta say, after 7 years of playing this game I am actually getting annoyed with the Costume updates. IT IS NOT CONTENT! IT IS FLUFF!

Why buy any of this when the Devs don't have a back story or something interesting that goes along with the Costume sets! At least give us a small mission arc that explains the reason for getting the Costume set!.

I.E. Here's the Gunslinger/Cowboy/Cowgirl set: Heroes/Villains recently fought Malta Group and uncovered a stash of Primal Earth goodies! Look at these Chaps and Buttcapron, can you believe that Heroes/Villains used to wear these things?! At least you legs and rear will be protected!

    or

After an unsuccessful Rikti invasion thwarted by ____ and the Vanguard we were able to liberate some Rikti Technology. Blasters, Defender, Scrapers, Corruptors and Dominators get your hands on this hot Rikti technology! Don't worry Brutes, Tanks etc etc, we have these Items for your protection!

    or

Here's your German Shepard! Your loyal companion is unconditionally grateful that you took the time to release him from the 5th's pound!
    Make it happen!

Recluse actually got a lot more lenient with that rule in Issue 12. Although, seeing Huge guys in Fortunata armor...

Sucks to be you, then. There've been some pretty decent, and even great, series's out there since then.

    Oh yes (sorry David) ;

It seems to be a worrying theme in general female design these days, and that also makes it an ASSUMPTION that all female characters are going to be modelled on this.

Heads up guys! NOT ALL OUR FEMALE CHARACTERS ARE *****S!
In the designer's defense, we also got Nightstar and Battle Maiden, who are both pretty tough customers that are less revealing in their outfits.
  18. Here's my kid, being absolutely adorable his little Teletubby outfit we got him last Christmas.

  20. I'm glad we got the Pilgrim hat, since that's a niche that is nice to have filled, but yeah. We need more tribal stuff. CoH is severely lacking in it.

Though knowing our costume creators, a Native Pack probably come out with a jacket for male's made of bear skin, a top hat adorned with wolf teeth, a bone corset, and all of it would be brown regardless of what color you chose.
  21. No gun holsters, duster jackets, cowboy hats, scruffy facial hair, or even a poncho? About the only thing this pack seems to have is the pants and boots, and the boots themselves are meh thanks to pre-tinting.

Everything else is just fancy jackets, corsets, and top hats. Same exact stuff we get every other pack.

At least females get a cigar now, though, even if it's also heavily pre-tinted.
  22. So you'd want to change your alignment instantly based on what costume you're wearing?

Yeah, that'd probably break the whole "Waiting two days minimum" thing the devs stressed on about when first implementing the Tip system.

Just go the RP route and have different costumes, and be, like, a Vigilante or Rogue so you can go to both sides and wear the costume specific to the side you're on.
