Uh, how come using a costume slot that you can already get for free - five of them - or that you can purchase - five of them - work any different than what you've got suggested here?

because, the current costumes don't ACTUALLY change your alignment. I want a special one that can become a villain.
/cc 0 hero costume and hero alignment.
/cc 1 villain costume and villain allignment.
/cc 2 I could care less about more costume slots I have 3 pairs of pants, 6 shirts and that's only because they get dirty. why does my CoH toon need more cloths than me?!? LOL
...yeah, no, that's completely gutting a part of the game they spent a very long time in the making. I doubt that would ever fly. You can shift your alignment every couple days at best, sorry bud.

So you'd want to change your alignment instantly based on what costume you're wearing?
Yeah, that'd probably break the whole "Waiting two days minimum" thing the devs stressed on about when first implementing the Tip system.
Just go the RP route and have different costumes, and be, like, a Vigilante or Rogue so you can go to both sides and wear the costume specific to the side you're on.

You can do that with current costume slots and it doesn't require breaking an entire feature of the game to do so.

In short: No. If the devs wanted us instantly switching alignments on a whim there wouldn't be a time limit on tips. You want to play both sides at once, be one of the in between alignments. That's what they're there for. Throw a villainous outfit in a second costume slot and you're golden.

WOW ... "bad" ideas get a lot of posts, but good ideas don't ... that doesn't seem right.
P.S. I've have had good ideas that have been put in the game that never got any post remarks.
P.S. this was a "for the fun of it" idea, I know the devs wouldn't make it.
It's not really a "bad" idea as much as a solution looking for a problem.
If you want to be able to play a character that's "sometimes good and sometimes bad" just play a Vigilante or Rogue.
That's exactly what those options are in the game for.
I've got several characters in that grey area and they have several costume options that are appropriate depending on what they're up to at the time.

I would like a purchaseable costume slot that enables you to have both costumes have independant alignments. I.E. one a hero, one a villain. I would only use it for TF/SF purposes I.E. oro portal. I'm sure others could use it as RPing for split personality or sleepwalking.
Though ... I bet it breaks the core code and they wouldn't do for that reason ... but it would still be nice.
