Quote:Agreed with the second half of your scenario, but not the first half. Yes, the expensive ones would get pricier, but the cheap ones would pretty much no longer exist in the market, because the prices would be too low to make them worth bothering putting up.Chances are though the cheaper ones would get cheaper as there would be more available and the expensive ones would get more expensive as people tried to buy them to replace the ones they've unslotted.

Would you really be willing to craft and sell an IO that may have cost a million or two to list (due to the need for an expensive piece of salvage, which would be more economical to sell by itself), only to sell it for a couple hundred thousand? Or otherwise, would you bother selling the uncrafted recipe for under what the vendors would pay? -
Quote:At least whoever downrated you gave a comment that actually went with the rating. I recently got downrated in another thread for my suggestion of the Banished Pantheon calling in their new allies, the Banished Skirtheon.
However, the comment was Creative. Really
Now really, with a comment like that, shouldn't the rating be anything but negative? -
Never mind. Just saw how to set the level when placing an enhancement. Without any indication that you can type in the level box when choosing IOs, it looks like the level is fixed. How about adding a cursor or some other indicator that that is editable?
-
How about the ability to show set IOs of any possible level instead of just the minimum and maximum? It's rather annoying doing a plan for a character in her 20s and not being able to see what the enhancement values are for the current level.

Also, if all you want is the Frontline badge mini arc, you can wait until level 40 and then run it via flashback. I think it comes available there at 40, and if you do it right at 40, you should still get XP for it.

Does it work on all Rikti? Imagine using it on a Rikti Monkey and seeing it turn back into a Human. Poor sap will never live that down at Pocket D...
-
In addition to older contacts, if you have other contacts that are in the same level range as Kestrel, one of them may introduce you (usually after doing enough missions to get the contact's phone number.)
-
Actually, you don't have to do the initiation arc to use the pillar. You just have to be level 25 (not sure if you have to have Entrusted With the Secret though, since all of my characters get that when they complete Doc Delilah's arc anyway, so I have no way of knowing).

Quote:Too bad on Kill X Missions, only the mission owner gets mission complete XP.Hell, you could theoretically do 3 (or for an 8 man team, 24) missions at once
Unless I am in the mood for simple mindless hunting, I do the "Grab a door mission to knock out the Hunt Mission" technique quite often.
Most recent uses of this technique for me were the level 20 costume mission (had Virginia Hoffman's Tsoo Shenannigans arc open), and the level 40 costume mission. For that one, I did Serpent Drummer's first mission, and one of Maxwell Christopher's Band Nemesis missions. By the time I was ready for a break, I had the costume mission over and done with. Forgot though that the first mission in Hoffman's arc only has a single Tsoo (everything else was Trolls). Next couple missions completed the hunt though.
Some other things to keep in mind:
When hunting Nemesis, Nemi Automatons do not count (you encounter those in one of Max Christopher's first missions.)
When hunting Rikti, any mission where Rikti would spawn as Lost for lower level characters will not count (except the end boss and anything summoned by Comm Officers). So the Midnighter arc is not a suitable set of missions to complete defeat X Rikti hunt.

Quote:Don't forget...The fact is that Freakshow are laughably easy to defeat compared to other groups at the same level... so you might as WELL be getting free XP.
When fighting Freaks outside of a mission (like in TV, CF, or Bricks), Bosses take extra long to take down.
Why? Because they almost always flee halfway across the zone as soon as you attack and take forever to come back. Or has the "run away!" AI been fixed by now? -
If you are still a long way away from getting your first veteran respec, don't want to spend the ridiculous amount of inf on a respec recipe, can't wait for the upcoming freespec, and are not high enough level for the first respec trial, then you can switch to your secondary build to hold you off until such time as you can respec your primary build.
You will need to buy new enhancements for the secondary build. But if you are too low a level for the trial anyway, it should not be a huge expense at this point. -

Quote:Since there are no story arcs in the 5 to 9 range other than the Hollows and the Kheld arcs, I have found a good course of action is something like this:But anyway the fun part starts around level 5 skip the hollows so dont do missions in the hollows .go back to kings row do 3 paper missions , one bank mission for raptor pack.
Then back to doing the contacts till you get all 5 origin contacts .
That will set you up with tons of possible choices till level 50 , and way to get all achievement badges solo .
And some wonderfull story arcs too later on .
Level 5:
1: Go talk to Wincott and do his first mission to open his arc.
2: Go to King's Row and run your 3 radio missions to get your Safeguard
3: Run the Atlas Safeguard.
4: Go talk to your new contacts (introduced by both your starting contact and your detective.)
5: Run missions for them until you have their phone numbers, have full access to their stores, and they introduce you to the next contact.
6: Repeat 4 and 5 until you have all possible contacts opened. By then, you are probably level 7 or 8, and should have your Negotiator badge.
7: Return to the Hollows and breeze through Wincott's arc.
8: Talk to Flux and run his arc. That should get you to 10. If it doesn't, return to King's Row and run another three radio missions (this gets you set up for the next Safeguard anyway).
Then at 10, you can get Julius the Troll's arc opened. After opening it, go work on getting the first two of the three regular story arcs for the 10-14 range opened. Then focus on one of them until it is finished, then get the third opened. In the meantime, you can get the Fortune Teller mission as well, and if you have the time, get other misc contacts opened as well. You probably won't be able to get them all, but no harm in trying. (don't forget to finish Julius's arc and get started on Talshak at some point).
After 14 though, it is time to become pickier, but I recommend getting the Safeguard over and done with, then head to Faultline to do Temblor and Yin's arcs (both are pretty fast and easy). After that, you should have plenty of time to get the Plague Stopper badge and the three arcs for that range before hitting 20.
After 20, then it will be time to consider turning off XP occasionally if you just absolutely must get every arc possible accomplished as well as open all possible contacts, since a tremendous buttload of opportunities start opening at that level. -
Quote:It's not that difficult. There were quite a few occasions where I managed to get through all my starting contact's missions before hitting level 5. If you don't turn the "click the glowie" and the "Defeat Boss and Guards" missions into kill alls, avoid the ambush in the obligatory "Intro to Ambushes" mission, and don't do any "hunting", you will very likely find yourself at level 4 1/2 by the time your contact has no more missions for you.I think he refers you to the next contact on level 5 , not earlier
I dont know how you ran out of mission or not gain experience to be level 5 .
Cause all the mission fillers and street killing makes it almost impossible to be not level 5 before he stops giving missions.
So congrats on doing something almost impossible. -
You could always secretly talk someone into creating a little web comic that prominently bears the name of your SG. Then you can secretly talk someone else into reporting your SG for a trademark/Imaginary Property violation, directing the GM to the web comic.
Perhaps then you can get the SG genericed and be given a chance to choose a new name. -
Quote:*** fails to resist the urge to do the Neener Dance(tm) ***He needs a credit card/paypal/game card on file in order to play the game.
His card will not get charged until next month. The first month of gameplay is included in the game.
If he cancels his account before the first month us up, he won't get charged (except for the game purchase price) -
All that is being asked for is some billing information. That does not mean he would be billed instantly. Instead, when he enters the CC info, then the free month should be applied, and his account info should show the next billing date as one month from now (or one month plus however many days are left on the trial.)
Taking his CC off his account would then prevent any further billing after the free time is up (provided it is done before the free time expires). -
I'd have to say that that post-death foomph that the Rikti Monkeys sometimes do looks and sounds like it should rank up there as one of the most potent powers in the game. (shudder)

Quote:Those are both excellent ideas that I would love to see implemented (in addition to how day jobs currently work). Each Day Job could have a contact that gives missions if you have that particular badge unlocked (Serge/Carson/Lauren/Facemaker's Reps, Guidance Counsellor/The Janitor, the Guy at the front desk at the Midnighter Club, etc). Every five levels they could have a new micro story arc (say three missions) for you to run for some little reward relevant to the day job (in addition to the usual XP/inf/normal drops). You do Day Job "missions". They would be simple tasks related to your day job. Your reward would be cash. You wouldn't use your powers for these tasks.
Cash would be used for in-game things like, say, apartments, or could be converted to prestige for SG bases.
For Villains, they would have an actual reason to rob those banks now.
Randomly, your Day Job tasks might open up a storyline for actual superoism.
eg. Clark is a Reporter. He goes around reporting on various topics. One day he's sent to the museum to do a report on a frozen dinosaur when an accident thaws the creature. It goes on the requisite rampage - this looks like a job for...
You get the idea. I would have like something more like this. It would add at least the semblance of depth. -
I do want to take this moment to recommend getting the Archeologist Day Job accolade.
21 days in a cemetery (Bonny Morass in Striga or anywhere in Dark Astoria, and for villains, Potter's Field in Sharkhead)
21 days inside the Midnighter Club.
After that, you get the Rune of Purification, which is essentially a charges-based Rune of Warding (like the time-based temp power you can get in Croatoa.) Even the visual and audio effects are identical. -
In other words, Day Jobs are not encouraging subscribers to not play. They are encouraging playing with more alts, which slows down leveling all around, which means you are subscribed to the game longer, which to NC, means, Cha-CHING!
