I have been asking for this for such a long time. I'd be willing to pay some amount of prestige to keep my SG together, but tweak the name a bit to encourage people to join.
At this time, it can't be changed unless it's offensive or copyrighted.

Oh darn ok, well I tried, I may just give my SG up, I worked hard soloing to get what I have, but my members are so inactive. only few on every now and then. I hate to give it up but...I wanted more interaction... oh well
Why would you have to give it up? (I assume you mean delete it.)

This is a frequently requested feature, and I think it might be added eventually - although it'll probably have a small fee attached to it.

Have you joined your Server's global channels for TFs, teaming, badges, giant monster hunts, etc? I have essentially solo SGs on several servers, since bro doesn't play as much anymore, and I get my action from the globals channels.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
I put in harder work and I decided to keep the SG, I still want to change the name...oh well
If you are unwilling to give up the amenities of your old SG you could create a new SG and coalition with your old SG. With a coalition you can stll use their TPs, work benches and Personal Invention Storage safe.
When your new SG has enough storage bins, clear out the Storage Bins and delete them in your old SG so you have no rent due for your old SG. As your new SG gains prestige you can add the other things that make life easier until you can leave the old SG altogether.

You could always secretly talk someone into creating a little web comic that prominently bears the name of your SG. Then you can secretly talk someone else into reporting your SG for a trademark/Imaginary Property violation, directing the GM to the web comic.
Perhaps then you can get the SG genericed and be given a chance to choose a new name.

Ya'll know you can report yourself for infringement, right? You don't need someone else to do it. Just say something "I didn't know this was trademarked when I made it, can I get a non-infringing name?" or something like that.
