SS/Anything Scrapper. Then I could make Mister Pow and The Pow King.
And if we ever got Rad as a secondary for Masterminds, then I would be tempted to either reroll or transfer to an off server, Rad-Bit, who is a Bots/Traps MM. I named him Rad-Bit because he is a robotic rabbit, and at the time I hit on the name, did not know that Rad was not an available secondary for Masterminds. -

Furious Flambe sounds more like a Monkey Fight Club monkey than a super hero/villain. At least, that is the imagery that comes to mind for me with that name. (shrug)

Quote:This one breaks if you get one of the missions in Talos that are on the islands to the north, unless you use the 'complete this mission' escape to finish it without actually going there. You do cut yourself off from some badges, though.
Did you forget that you can get a Raptor Pack at any time now for a paltry 10,000 inf? -
And that is why the Wilhelm Scream needs to be added to the game's sound library.

All names I've used on Virtue. Any that has an X beside it is one that I used the i for L trick to get because I simply gave up hunting through synonyms and getting rejections.
3 Years ago when I was new to the game, I wanted to call my MA/SR Scrapper Honey Bee, as that was her nickname back in the old AD&D days instead of the cliched Grasshopper for a martial artist type. However, Honey Bee was taken, and even being new to the game, I was not surprised, very briefly disappointed but not surprised. Then I tried Honey-Bee, and that was taken as well. Finally, I decided her real first name was Bree, so I called her Honey-Bree (Honey Bree was also available, but I felt the - worked best with that combo). Then when that big name purge came about back around the time of the big prestige grant, one of those two first choices came available (I think it was Honey-Bee, but can't remember for certain).
I seriously considered paying the $10 to change her name, (just like I paid to change Twilight-Vixen to Twilight Vixen, since that came available too on Virtue in the big name purge). However, in the end, I decided that Honey-Bree would remain Honey-Bree...

Additionally, if you have a power that does KB (other than Air Superiority), and can spare 4 enhancement slots, then you can get an additional 3 points of KB protection with the Kinetic Crash set. And if you can afford to put a full 6 piece KC set in it, you get a nice little global recharge bonus as well.

It's a good one. I like to put it into Brawl, which turns Brawl into a semi reliable Air Superiority.
Also, level does not matter with this one, since no matter the IO level, it is active as long as the power it is in is available. -
The non-epic version of Never-Moore is a Mercs/Pain Mastermind who got tired of all the annoying crappe going on around his otherwise lovely humble home in Primeva. So he arranged to train with the Sky Raiders to get the skills (and subsequently a source of equipment) needed to operate as a hero in the Isles.
He now has a full complement of troops working for him, on perma-loan from the Sky Raiders:
All versions of his son, Stellar Jay (both heroic and villainous) have some ties to the Warriors. The heroic version (Plants/Rad Controller) broke away from them after he finally realized that these guys were just going to remain street thugs and not use their abilities for good.
The villainous versions got out after getting into some trouble and serving time. And now he is following in pop's footsteps and working for right in the Isles. One is a bit of a vigilante (Plants/Energy Dominator), the other (AR/Dark Corruptor) is operating under corporate guises as CEO of the Vulture Capitalists.
The Dominator version also has a costume that is highly Warriors inspired. This was the best I could come up with for a Warriors look...
His basic super suit is somewhat silver age inspired...
All versions of him have this, with slight tweaks here and there. No screenies of his Vulture Capitalists suit yet, I'll post that later. -
I briefly grumbled (but only to myself) when I first learned of this. However, I am cool with it. I am pleased that I was able to get my Khelds and VEATS (I can't get myself to call Khelds EATS...squids...good EATS?) unlocked the old way.
I am going to speculate that if unlocking epics is no longer going to be a reward for reaching 50, then reaching 50 is going to have a reward that is much much much much better. My advice is to just be patient and wait and see what happens. -
Only my guitar would...gently...if I had a guitar...and if it could weep.
Actually, I haven't tried the random rolls thing yet. I just don't feel ready to take that gamble, since most of my characters don't really have enough merits racked up to experiment with random rolls and make it worthwhile. That is because most of them went through most of the content before merits, and I don't want to go spending that time doing flashbacks when I have younger characters to level up.
At the moment, a bunch of mine are saving up their merits for Stealths, since low level stealth IOs just are not available, and I have never seen them as random drops. Weren't those only random end of Task Force rewards before merits? If so, does that mean they never drop any more and are only available via merits, since I am figuring very few players ever choose the random roll as their reward at the end of a task force? -
If you want to get something to resell and don't want to risk getting a bunch of crap recipes from random rolls, a low level Luck of the Gambler is always worth the merits.
But remember, no matter how much inf you get, it is useless if what you are needing simply is not available (I'm looking at you, Unbounded Leap and Celerity Stealth recipes). -

Just as a random thought to keep this thread alive a bit longer...
I suppose I should not have been surprised to find out that Tickle Me Emo was taken on whatever server I checked for it on a few months back.
Then again, it was probably for the best. Otherwise I would have made him some dark brooding Dual Blades, Katana, or Claws villain... -
In the case of AE, it was effectively negative $5... And since the OP scored GvE for $10 (hope it wasn't used), negative $15 or somethere thereabouts.

All you have to do is build up to that level. After that, you can set the level of your enhancements by mousing over them and manually typing the level you want. It isn't very intuitive though, since nothing gets highlighted or whatever to indicate that you can type at that point.
That confused me for ages until I asked here. -

Quote:My Plants/Energy Dom is working on getting 5 complete 6 piece sets slotted, for the recharge, and so far, I have not seen any drawbacks to these. Then again, with his pet plant, vines, and other stuff, when he goes into battle, it is total carnage. So if there are drawbacks, I just haven't been able to notice.Definitely one of those YMMV things; using 4 slots from a KB set is the last thing I'd consider for my Dark/Mace tank.
Yeah. That was the other one I was trying to remember. However, it would be silly to put a BoZ KB Protection in Elude, since that as a Super Reflexes power, and SR already has good KB protection via Practiced Brawler. Still, Elude could take a Winter's Gift Slow Resistance, if you want to wait that long to get it (level 38). -
As long as the bonus isn't called Huge Recharge Bonus, to be exact. Are there any other sets that give that specific name for their recharge bonus? (Luck of the Gambler does not.)
-
Quote:There's also a couple non-pool powers BoZ will slot into as well...The main distinction being where you can slot a given IO -- BoZ slots into any pool travel power, so it's easy for anyone to use.
Speed Boost and Accelerate Metabolism also take Universal Travel.
I know there are a few others as well, but I can't remember them at the moment. -

Drea also isn't as bad now that you can easily get a Raptor Pack at level 1.
-
It's random.
On Liberty, I just checked 2 of my villains.
Both have Burke as their starting contact. But one has Drea and the other has Mikey.
I always prefer Mikey myself, mostly because Drea feels like he is way out in B.F. Oakes (with some tough Lost between you and him.) -
Quote:If you have at least 5 powers with KB/KU/KD (not counting Air Superiority, which only takes Melee Damage sets), then slotting 5 full sets of Kinetic Crash would get you 37.5% global recharge. And as an added benefit, you would also have 30% regen bonus, 15 points of knockback protection, 15% run speed increase, and 12.5% smashing resistance.thanks!
build is currently at global 87%ish, need to figure how to get that additional 23% :P
The trick is finding enough powers to slot the sets in (my Plants/Energy Dominator had it easy here.)
