Understandable the one Sutter I did gave out over a 1 Million (if I remember right) end bonus and I went up not one but two levels. I am just not a huge fan of Sutter's TF and usually prefer doing Mortimer Kai's SF when those two are the WST. Problem was by Saturday I was leveling my DOM and she's a straight hero not a vigilante and I didnt feel like doing Vigi Missions with all the TFs forming around me. Hey whatever gets you to 50 It's all good!
  2. I didn't really go into the weekend with any set goals. I leveled my WB/CD Corruptor to 50 (from 46 no huge accomplishment), Leveled my DP/Poison Corruptor to 50 (from 41), Leveld my Earth/PSI Dominator to 48 (from 35) and created a new Claws/WP Brute and got that from 1 to 19 as Sunday night dwindled away.

The most important thing to me.. I had fun. Spent a good bit of time playing with my friend and SG Partner and we also leveled his Water Blast Corruptor to 50 and moved one of his blasters up to level 38.

What DID I do over the weekend? Well lets see... Synapse TF (once), Citadel TF (once) Moonfire TF (once), Sutter Tf (once), Numina TF (once.. also resulting in getting TF Commander on my DP Corruptor ), Imperious TF (3 or 4 times I lost track lol), Lady Grey TF (once), Rikti Mothership Raids (4 times over the weekend on several characters), completed the Midnighter Club Arc (once so my Dominator could get inside and actually join an ITF ), battled AVs in PI from Marie Jenkins (several times on both Corruptors), DiB Trial (once late at night just to get to the next level before bed.. I swear), and obviously I did the DFB Trial 4 times to get my new Brute from 1-19. I did join one Positron TF that was supposed to be part 2 but somehow wound up being part 1 and the team wiped on the very first mob we faced. By the time I teleported to the hospital 5 members including the leader had quit ... Yeah there were good and BAD teams out there as always lol

Overall I got to do a lot of different things and played with a lot of different people. So when can we do that again?

I think this pretty well covers it. Now adding additional costume pieces, emotes or whatever to the Astral/Emp stores in Ouroborus is okay but to actually use a power slot to make me look different? I don't think the majority of the player base would be happy.

Incarnate powers are designed to make us more powerful, more GOD like, so we can better deal with the challenges of the trials. When the system first began we had ALPHA which was a build fixer... dependng on what you chose you could increase you damage output, reduce end loss, increase resistance or defense, and so on. We didn't have a trial at that point but did pick up the Apex and Tin Mage task forces.

Then they added Judgement, Lore, Interface and Destiny at the same time giving us Lambda and the BAF. Suddenly we were facing a constant diet of 54 level foes that challenged our abilities and those four powers, as we opened them, helped us deal with it. As newer trial emerged the need for certain powers became much more realistic.. WHile not all do a good leader is always going to ask how many players can slot Clarion before starting an Underground Trial (to deal with the massive PSI the Emmisary of Hamidon has in that final chamber). Anyone that has done a Mind of Mayhem will tell you how important a few good Barriers (with 2 rezzes) and a few Clarions can be while dodging pink clouds of death or dealing with all that PSI (confuse/damage). How much easier did the BAF become after players started opening up Lore and even a Tanker suddenly had at least 2 pets to add to the prisoner escape phase? While some criticize it even Hybrid is useful when you are battling Emperor Cole in the Magi trial.

We have 5 powers left and its interesting that no new powers or new trial are scheduled for issue 24. I am betting when 25 arrives any new power or powers we get will add us in battling the new threat of Battalion. Somehow I seriously doubt a pretty aura or a costume piece will help win that battle.

Add whatever you like to the Astral/Emp store .. at the moment most of my incarnates have merits they don't know what to do with but when I start collecting salvage for a power I want to get an actual POWER in return.

After thinking about it for a minute I wonder if Penny's new outfit was inspired by any artwork leftover from the Korean "City of Hero" game. It does sort of look more like the kind of outfit you'd see in an Asian inspired MMO. *shrugs*
I agree with Lothic Penny's outfit isn't a favorite by any means but I can't see putting any sort of priority on a redisgn with other things that need work.

Someone else mentioned Penny is growing up.. from the second SSA we see she is still growing.. She teases Manticore using his first name and apparently played some joke on him. In retrospect.. since the guy just recently had to kill is own wife to save paragon City that could qulify as being rather tacky and uncalled for on Penny's part. But she is a young woman now.. spreading her wings, so to speak, and looking to show the world she's grown up.

If you'd like some Real World examples of blossoming females and the shocking fashions they wore... Let's start with Britney Spears former Disney Tv star that suddenly appeared first in a skimpy schoolgirl outfit and later in even less clothing with a huge snake drapped over her shoulders. Do I even need to mention the sort of stuff Linsey Lohan paraded around in or the outrageous things she's done trying to shed her good girl image? Can't even think of the girl's name now but she was on Saved by the Bell and pretty much ruined her carreer making that horrible flick where she was a stripper in Las Vegas.. At the time i can just imagine she thought it was her was to prove to the world she was all grown up and ready for big girl roles.

Penny's outfit isnt great but it isn't obscene either. Relax I'm sure her dad gives her plenty of grief about it LOL
  5. Sadly your favorite MM (Mercs) has always been considered the weakest link among the others.. Personally I dislike Ninjas more but that's because they seem the hardest to actually control (picture 6 pets that all tend to act just like the combat medic and want to run up into mobs and die). LOL

I have a Merc/Dev that has managed to have some limited success on Incarnate trials but it is much more difficult than with my other MMs.... My Thugs/DM rules BAFs and Gang War has helped leagues I was on Polish off Mother Mayhem in under 2 minutes duringa MOM. I never had a problem with my Bots/DM either but Bots was always one of the stronger original sets. I'm not saying I don't EVER have to resummon but I have taken Thugs and Bot on UG, TPN, BAF, and even DDs and been a useful member of the league.. Any squishy has problems on Lambda and an MM is probably the worst At to send into a warehouse after anything.. They usually just wind up dead.. of course if the 50 +3 level tanks and Brutes didnt run off to show how cool it is they can solo in there and stucjk with the team an MM might last a bit longer but you can't ask for miracles

Now my new BM/Thermal MM does quite well on any trial . She can heal and buff not only the team but her pets so they tend to last a lot longer.

Do I think MMs need/deserve a buff? YES .. they have the lowest hit point total of any AT mainly because the devs assumed the pets would pull aggro off the MM and keep them alive. Well I have seen plenty of cases where my pets were almost completely ignored and the mob came straight for ME! Plus as we all know at the higher levels the mobs all catch up and then pass the pets and they start dying like flies. Once they are gone I am left standing there with 3 attacks, no defense and LOW hit points .. may as well paint the target on my chest and point the enemy in my direction. Better control of pets would be a real treat.. can we please PLEAS PLEASE .. stop the crap where my arsonist, my combat medi, ect, ect etc.. feel the need to rush forward after one attack and DIE? Every single minon I own is capable of long ranged attacked.. why do they all act like Skulls? fire off one shot and then run up and try to club the enemy to dealth with a completely loaded gun? and finally either allow the pets to keep that almost dominance they have over enemy mobs at low levels when they get to the high level content or give ME some inherent defenses or MORE health.

Of course no one will ever be 100% satisfied with any AT and we all want more out of each and every one but yes I do think the Masterminds deserve their turn on the table and hopefully they come out better than before. Oh I almost forgot to add.. either stop counting them as attackers or make dang sure any league wide BUFF you create buffs enough attackers so I don't have to dismiss my pets like we did for a while during the MAGI. yeah who though up THAT bright idea? lol

Couldn't care less about the incarnates or Praetorians? I'd still go visit the new DA and run the solo/small team arcs.. okay so they award threads and stuff. They are pretty interesting and geared to your level.. same for the new ones in First and Night Ward.

Hey any level can do a Mothership Raid, Hamidon event or run all of the 45 and up task forces again and again and again.

Then there is always what I do... level MORE of them to 5o, turn them all in incarnates and form your own army. LOL

And before anyone disagrees.. Bottoms with Skins .. Bikini # 3 or Barbarian and Tops with Skins .. Bikini or Barbarian Both show more skin that the female in that picture. The only place I can think of where THAT picture would be considered obscene is the Middle East. During the first Gulf War as care packages were being prepped to be sent to the troops the covers of certain fitness magazines had to be removed because OH MY GOD .. the female on the cover had on shorts and a sports bra top.. she was revealing legs and her tummy. This of course was the same country that after begging us to protect them from possible invasion KICKED the US military and our allies out once the threat was contained because we were contaminating the Holy Land. You know, because they've never used a power available beyond level 10 before.

A lot of people level up in it and are perfectly competent players, but just as many have learned absolutely nothing about the game and have terribly built characters.

I can usually tell a DFB leveled character, especially if it is a melee character. All the attacks, 3 or more travel powers, and fewer than 3 powers from their secondary means it is a safe bet it was leveled in DFB. The sad part is people with characters like that usually don't understand WHY they keep getting killed in other content when they are godlike on DFBs.

I also find it highly amusing when they insist they know everything about the game because they have a level 50, and that I must be a noob because my character is only level 17.

I know it's not a new phenomenon, there will always be clueless idiots PLing and learning nothing. This one is just more in your face than other methods, and available to everyone.

I don't care if people want to PL. But, for the love of Pete, make an effort to learn why you keep dying in other content instead of blaming your teammates for your repeated deaths.

Couldn't agree with you more Claws but then its the same sort of problem we have dealt with for years when a new player is PLed and doesn't have a clue. I sort of figured the DFB was the Dev's answer to lots of Vet players complaining they were tired of the 1-20 grind. They NEW the game and just wanted a way to quckly get to more interesting content.

Let's be honest the OLD contacts in Atlas park didn't have story arcs.. just a bunch of semi related missions to help you get to level 5. The same was true of the one in Kings Row and even most of the ones in Steel and Skyway. With very few exceptions you didn't see an actual arc until level 10 in Steel or Skyway and even then most contacts just had solo missions. It got a little better at 15 but still just as many contacts with no arc and the ones with. Running a few DFBs and DiBs instead doesn't deprive anyone of missing any major story plots. Actually if we could look at the stats from back then .. probably more people leveled up doing Radio missions than using ANY of those contacts.

You do make an excellent point though.. I like to swicth at 15 and run DIBs because those allow me to keep using the new powers I get pretty much all the way to 20 or even 25. If you never use a power how do you know what its capable of doing or what it needs to have enhanced? Does it drain end like crazy and needs reducers? Is it a great attack when it hits but it misses a lot and needs an accuacy boost? Is it REALLY amazing but takes forever to recover and you want to toss in some recharge reducers? the only way to answer those sort of questons is AT SOME POINT stop playing nothing but DFB and go run missions that allow you to use those powers.

Now now I never claimed they were idiots .. snobs perhaps but not idiots. I also said I felt that a brand new player SHOULD do the missions from Matt Habashy and Twinshots to get that eductaion on the game's mechanics.

After that however ... making it sound like running a DFB was somehow degrading yourself is silly. Plenty of comments here about how it's quick, it's JUST challenging enough to keep you interesed, and the rewards are great.

Even if you can't use the SO enhancers that drop... sell one of them and then sell one training origin (all you will get doing anything else below about 10 or 12 level) and then multiply. I can walk away from 4 DFB runs with as many as 8 or 9 SO enhancers slotted and over 50,000 INF by level 14. I will have 4 buffs to help me level faster until level 22 and all in around one hour.

There's no right or wrong way to play the game, as long as you don't violate the TOS [ Zwillinger made me add that LOL] so play the way you like. Just don't stand around in Atlas Park trying to sound important and giving players advice that may actually hurt them eventually.

...er, that is, back in the days where honest players played honestly, and got onto Werewolf Farms and killed the whole mission with stacked Trip Mines, then reset--

...basically, what I'm really trying to say is that at least powerleveling wasn't a problem in Beta.

...um, except for the times that the Devs would literally just hand out levels to people to test stuff. That was a bit of an issue.

hehehe Um lets see you forgot the

... I'm running this freakshow farm. I need you to sit here at the entrance while 4 of us defeat everything on the map. DONT touch the glowies we will be doing it again.. and again ..,. and again

.... Oh heck lets see what else did they have in PI ? The demon farm.. two city blocks of COT fun. The Family Farm .. same two block different mobs (Da MOB). Actually just about anything that including at least one glowie you had to click was farmed at some point in PI and there were a couple where we just had to be super careful not to kill or agrro that ONE mob so we could exit and reset.

--- don't forget what the entire DFB trial is based on to begin with. Show up in Atlas Park and just start broadcasting "LF Sewer team" until you wound up racing through the sewers to level 6,7 or higher.. then head off to KR to do Radios. Hey at least the DFB has a Hospital and trainers we can use. Back then if you entered with 3 powers you exited with 3 until you could finally train. Oh and the easiest way to exit.. run head first into a huge mob and die. LOL
  12. So last night I logged on and while I was waiting in Atlas Park for my partner to arrive I overheard a few things in broadcast that made me laugh ... [while not direct quotes the following was basically the short conversation]

New player: So exactly what is a DFB?

Snobby Player # 1: A trip through the sewers mindlessly PLing and all sanctioned by the Devs

Snobby Player # 2: Yeah only the weak and lazy do that thing. Its supposed to teach you how to do very basic stuff.

It continues for a bit but you get the idea. These two geniuses were basically telling a newer player that the sewer trial sucked and he should avoid it at all costs. The best part was not a sole in Atlas Park, sadly myself included, stepped in the present our New Player with any other opinion.... I just didnt feel up to a heated debate with a couple idiots LOL

Okay I will admit I have actually teamed with leaders in their 40s on a DFB with a few of my new characters. I don't care who I team with but at times you do wonder "Dude wouldn't you be leveling faster on an ITF?" But for a new character the DFB is anything but a waste of time or an abomination. I bring a new character to Atlas at level 1 or 2 and join a DFB team and depending on recruiting times in an hour to say 75 minutes I can compete 4 runs. When I'm done I am around level 14 or 15, I have buffs to my damage, accuracy, recovery and defense till level 22, and I've been collecting, slotting or selling off Single Origin enhancers after all four runs.

Now for an absoluute brand new player using the in game contacts and learning the ropes is an excellent idea but .. I have 6 years here in game. I don't need a mission that requires me to find the train station on the map and go take a ride to Kings Row. I don't need a missions that requiire me to meet contacts at the Hospital, Wentworths, or The AE building so they can briefly describe what each is for and why I want to know where they are.

The DFB was designed for a player like me that has a working knowledge of the game and just wants to level quickly and get to better content. They removed ALL of the old contact's missions when they revamped the zone so... it's one of 3 things. The tutorial, the DFB or I street hunt until I hit level 5 and can head to Kings Row and start doing Radio Missions.

While not used as much these days, at least not on Virtue, the DiB extends that quick leveling to around 20 level and extends those buffs from level 22 to level 30. It also keeps handing you Single origin Enhancers which you would not normally be able to purchase until you reached level 22. Now around 12 to 17 I will start slotting IOs but even at those low levels the single origins that drop are much stronger than a 15 level IO so I will gladly slot them.

Of course by level 15 there are other options to level fast.. Posi 1 and Posi 2 along with the dreaded Synapse TF all allow players to team up, just like the DFB or DiB, and run missions together greatly increasing the rate at which they level. And while many dislike the Synapse because it takes almost 2 hours to complete those 3 TFS are required for the Task Force Commander accolade. May as well get them done early and move on from there.

So to answer "new Players" question.. Do the DFB! You'll level faster and get a lot of great bonuses. Now if your level 47 and still standing next to Ms Liberty forming them you sort of missed a lot of the rest of the game BUT the trial is not something you avoid . LOL Okay now hopefully that new guy rwads this and i feel a lot better
  13. Okay you have been here for 7 years but..

    1. have you posted a minimum of 10 comments that sparked 10 pages of outraged replys?

    2. have you engaged a minimum of 50 other forum members in heated debated that required at least 5-7 posts before you both got bored and looked for another argument?

    3. have you been contacted via PM by a redname at least 4 times and told NOT to use personal slurs or attack a member personally?

    4. has anyone actually put you on ignore becuase they simply can not stand your opinions any longer?

    5. and perhaps the most important of all.. has anyone contacted you and given you your secret decoder ring and shown you the secret hand shake?

If the answer to any of these questions is no .. you are still a rookie.

LOL .. its all based on number of posts as previously mentioned. See you already had the answer but i just padded my post count by adding mine to the list. Go Hunt..... Post threads!

All of them have three different destinies (Clarion, Barrier and Rebirth) so I can slot whatever the leader needs. Many also now have more than one Hybrid as well. So you tell me what you want .. Tank, Scrapper, Brute, Stalker, Blaster, MasterMind, Defender, Controller, Corruptor, Warshade, or SoA and I will log it on. There is no one AT or power set best suited to the trials.

Okay then how about this as an option. Oh btw I whole heartedly support this idea!

Keep these new trials in a CoOp Zone but in order to run the hero version a Hero or Vigilante must but the leader .. Heroes, Vigilantes and Rogues may join but not pure Villains. In order to run a villain version either a Villain or a Rogue must be the leader and Villains, Rogues or Vigilantes may join but not pure Heroes. Now to further ease putting together teams all of these Mini trials will be "mini trials".. 16 players only (no 24 man leagues). Of course this would give a vigilante or rogue a slight edge but not that much.

This would greatly increase the available number of players that could join either side's trials without corrupting the concept by having a HERO helping a VILLAIN steal SWAG or visa versa. If this was set in a brand new CoOp zone story arcs like those in DA could be set up with contacts for both villans/rogues/vigilantes or heroes/vigilantes/rogues to accommodate the soloists that also involved Rularuu. Considering the mobs that currently roam the shadow shard we could even see street gangs consisting of Soldiers or Rularuu, Nemesis, Crey, Circle of Thorn and the Rulu-Shin. Set the zone up similar to the new DA with zones where players find 50 levels, 51 level, yada yada yada 54 levels. All dropping the occasional thread in addition to INF, recipes and salvage.

    Did that help at all?
  16. Ohh another thread about task forces..

Okay let's start with Synapse... The only thing that needs to happen to make this a better tf is 1) loose half the defeat alls or at least turn them into defeat leader and minons. 2) loose the street hunt and one or both of the patrols. Now that said this thing can still be accomlished in 2 hours or less ... If you want true pain go to the Ouroborus portal and run the OLD Positiron and so you get the true feel for what it was like years ago... don't use any travel powers before reaching level 14. And I mean NO travel powers .. when that tf came out there was no beast run, no ninja run, no raptor pack or anything else. It used to be the second longest TF in game and just like Doc Q there were times when teams would go to bed and come back the next night to finish it! YES I AM THAT OLD lol

Okay then on to my next pick for a revamp.. (sorry its not Citadel) Numina! Take away the mind numbing runs around all of Paragon City defeating 10, 20 or 30 enemies that until the very end are so low they offer up absolutely no XP at all and what is left is a total of five actual missions and one talk to mission. The entire TF is "supposed" to revolve around Devouring Earth and our attempt to rescue the Woodsman from them. Two of those 5 missions actually have DE in them and those are the final ones. 1) loose all the defeat X missions .. why? Because no one enjoys doing that many street hunts and with the Zone events we have now an entire TF team can wind up sitting around for X numer of minutes while THE RIKTI INVADE, ZOMBIES ATTACK, NEMESIS ATTACKS, THE BANNERS ARE UP. I personally was on one Numina that got held up twice .. A Rikti invasion in Talos spawned by, of course the completion of a LGFT and a Zombie invasion in Faultline spawned by someone turning in Halloween salvage. 2) then revamp the Tf so its similar to Penny Yins .. a few longer missions set in Eden or even in the Hive revolving around the DE capturing the Woodsman and us eventually rescuing him.

Citadel.. believe it or not has been revamped. At one point there were three straight missions that occurred in same cave under the bridge in IP. They all three used the exact same map and the only difference was one had you battle Vamprii and Warwolves, another Galaxy and some normal troop and a third just normal looking troops. [don't quote me on the exact villain groups that has been a long time ago but it was something like that]. Citadel isnt that bad really .. I've been on plenty of teams that complete it in under 90 minutes. One thing they could definately loose is the street hunt .. since the return of the Fifth Column finding 40 Council anywhere on the streets has become more difficlut. Half the places they used to be now have Fifth Column instead and in some places you find both and have to battle the fifth column to kill the concil before they do.

Change is good but keep in mind there are players out there that farm TFs for merits. Every time the revamp and make thing easier the merit total drops... The OLD POSI awarded 66 merits while the new Posi 1 and 2 combined only awards 26. Sister Psyche awarded 50 merits while Penny Yin's Tf only pays out 20. Your done faster but now you need to do more to wind up with the same amount of rewards.

LOL I have seen this way too often with my old, retired Ill/Emp. One one team guys were all but bragging about NEVER carrying and awakes or respites. This is true its not as if you go up one level and suddenly everything is RED .. if your enhancers are red you have gone up several levels. And IF they all go red it simply means you are ONLY doing 100% of the damage that power allows.. your enhancements bring that up to 150, 190 or whatever. you'll still do damange just not as much.

of course there is the other option ... I have been on more than one TF where someone leveled and hit one of those point ... I am 22 now I can slot SO 25s, I am 32 now I can slot 35s, and so on .. and that person simply said "I am going to enhance at the store. Go on without me." Never seen a single team where this was a problem.

Now all that siad.. I'd definately support this idea. Even if it still requires a trip to the store, otherise what are they good for? Pop into the store after a level up and hit one button that auto updates all enhancements would be great. Of course with any new powers or new slots you'd want the option to decide what is going in those new slots.

    /definately this lol

keep in mind you are one player with 1 or 2 ideas. Now multiply that by thousands and thousands that stop by here and make requests. They'd need to hire an entire team just to respond if they tried contacting each one of us with every idea we have. Since I'd much rather they spend that money on developing new powers, story arcs, costume sets, ect I have no problem never personally being contacted about an Idea I post here
  21. Well as much as I have enjoyed the trials if no new powers are coming I can live without another for now... although I thought we were supposed to see Battalion emerge with this issue. I sort of assumed there'd be a trial based on that but maybe its a TF instead.

Glad to see they are planning to take care of some long overdue QOL issues.
  22. Maybe I just missed it in that long list Forbin submitted but realistically .. GOING ROGUE. How long did we beg for a way to create an Anti-hero here on the forum before that addition finally arrived?

To the OP .. one of the things I personally found very refreshing and has kept me loyal to the game is the fact that they do listen to us. Better than half the things players take fro granted today are a direct result of us asking and the Dev team finding a way to make it work.

OMG WHAT A TOTALLY UNHEARD OF CONCEPT! .. LIKE THEY LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND DO WHAT THEY ASK!

Completing either Penelope Yin's TF or Sister Psyche's defunct TF will award credit towards Task Force Commander. If it's not showing up as credit, then send a bug report. (But first, make sure you actually have the following badges in your Accomplishment tab -- Positron's Ally, Synapse's Cohort, Citadel's Assistant and either Sister Psyche's Comrade or Penelope Yin's Friend. It's always possible you misremembered getting the badge on that character, or didn't receive it due to a connection issue or something.)

If you further run Manticore and Numina and still don't receive Task Force Commander, then send in a second bug report AND a petition to have them award it to you.

I have done that on my 40 level DP/Poison Corruptor and I have the badge along with The one for completing part 1 and 2 of Positrons TF, The one for completing Synapse's TF and the one for completing Citadel's TF
taken from the wall of text.. and yes I have completed Penny Yin's TF several times and have the Penelope Yin's Friend badgeas well. I have also completed and recieved the badge for the Manticore TF since I posted this.

I sent a bug report but figured I'd add a post here as well
Last line of my post I already sent in one bug report. My badge tracker still is off by one completed TF and now show 4 of 6 instead of 5 of 6. Hoepfully the bug goes no further than failing to update properly and when I get Numina I will be awarded TF Commander.. If not OBVIOUSLY I will send another bug report and a petition so a GM can review my personal info and confirm I have all 6 badges required for the accolade. The idea was to post here so if anyone else had the same problem they could add their comments.

I am not trying to slam someone else's gaming experience, I am merely trying to understand. So thats what I came here asking.

Anyways, I am in Pocket D and I am running Gladiator matches for badges. I keep appearing next to this "couple" and I am catching their conversation. First let me describe their outfits:

Player A is wearing a school girl outfit, high heels, max boob slider, etc. Player B is also a female character with purple stockings, long legs, etc. Well when I started noticing the conversation they are flirting back and fourth and then eventually roleplaying making out. Granted I am popping in and out of arena so only catching bits and pieces of the conversation.

Eventually they are roleplaying, or maybe were the entire time, the naughty school girl getting seduced by the teacher. The teacher is female and so is the student. The teacher is telling the student if you get an A you get a special reward nudge nudge.

Then they start talking about being in a relationship and asking to be the other's girlfriend. So mind you we have two people roleplaying here two female characters making out, that are teacher and student, getting a bit graphic, and then being in a relationship.

From an outside perspective, this seems bizarre to me. I could understand roleplaying this with your wife or girlfriend in a real life bedroom situation, but in the game? Does this go on a lot in roleplaying?

The other thing that baffles me is its two female characters, I am sure one or both players are male. Does this have an effect at all? Or does the player fantasize the other is female?

I am literally trying to understand the behavior and maybe a poster out there likes to do this. What does it do for you? Is it simply fun? I can accept that.
LOL Welcome to Virtue. Look at it this way in Pocket D at least you had the option to move away. One of the first coalitions my SG joined was with a group of ERP Sgs. Now when they weren't engaged in RP that we will NOT go into detail here they had some very good players but it all there were 6 or 7 different groups and the main had this huge fully equipped base. All the others were set up like nightclubs with "private" rooms. Coalition chat was going constantly and was normally at least r-rated plus it was going on so much we all shut it off so it didn't interfere with us getting directions from any team leaders we were playing with. Now the REALLy fun part .. at some point they visited our base and "heaven forbid" we had actually built teleporters, had workshops with salvage storage, etc.. in other words we had a working base not a brothel ... They kicked US out

Most of the RP you will see is clean and all for fun but when you run across the hard core stuff just quietly back away and then RUN!

Now that said you will also find some of the friendliest, most helpful and most knowledgable players in the game here. We know how to succeed at every aspect of this game and have no problem helping others do so as well. Enjoy your stay with us just remember .. you don't have to be crazy to play on Virtue. But it helps!

    Excellent point on Nemesis though.

Dream Doctor is totally agenda driven and I don't believe him for one second.

Oh no don't misunderstand.. the "But I was only following orders" excuse didnt help all those death camp officials after WW2 one bit they were all guilty of horrible acts against human being.. My point was simply woulod those camps have even existed if Hitler hadn't wanted them? Along those same lines while Phipps is a total sleeze and sends us out of the absolute worst missions in game... What are the odds at some point a conversation between him and Recluse didnt take place..

Recluse: Listen Weston I need someone to handle a few rather disgusting jobs for me. I've watched you progress and you strike me as the sort who can do these things with no problem.

Weston: Thank you my lord. What did you wish me to do?

Recluse: Well lets start with this food those goodie two-shoes in Paragon sent to help our needy. I don't want the needy getting help from outside .. I want them totally dependant on me. Go and poison that food and take out anyone that gets in the way.

Weston: excellent idea sir I have just the man/woman for the job!

While we never see that conversation it is taken directly from the mission briefing for the poison the food mission. Recluse is never actually mentioned but ...

    Briefing
The nerve of some people! I was approached today by some sanctimonious do-gooders from some Paragon City charity. Apparently there was a big food drive for the poor of the Rogue Isles, and now the shipment is in. The donations are being stored in a warehouse here in Grandville until they can be distributed. But I want the poor to be hungry. It keeps them more miserable and desperate for my help. So I want you to destroy and poison those donations. But watch out. There's a group of super-powered do-gooders guarding the shipment. I'd suggest you bring some other rogues along.

Can you see how he'd react exactly the same way if the chraity had approached him directly? Chances are the food never would have even made it to Grandville. Chances are that leader of that charity group would be dead or in some prison cell being slowly tortured to death.
