Unfortunately you are not the first or last person to find themselves in this situation. While it has been suggested/requested for some time there is no way to change the name of an SG.

Quote:This has basically been happening since the game started. Player A (lowbie) gives Player B (Farmer) x amount of influence for farming them. It generally depends on a few things:
Experience of Farmer
Greed of Farmer
Demand for PL (if no one is looking price tends to be lower)
Amount being farmed (ambush farm versus a longer cave farm for example).
Some farmers will farm from x level to x level for a certain price while others are a set price based on the map.
You will see a lot of people go on and on and on about how evil PLing is, but I say to each their own...it is after all your toon and your money (inf). No one is being taken advantage of imo when it comes to farming... the farmer provides a service and gets something out of it (inf) and as the "customer" you are free to either take part or not.
I do not pay for farms; friends and I trade off farming each other for free.
As Burnt said PLing in one form or another has been around since .. well probably day Two. It's hanged some since the old days due to the changes in Mentoring/exemplaring. Years ago a Farm would have 3-4 players actually defeating mobs while a couple Mentors babysat the low levels at the door. Thing was in those days those low levels were actually getting XP like they were 49 levels and INF and everthing else.. Now a one level can join a 50 level team and be raised to a 49 level but they still earn XP like they were battling 1 level foes. The huge advantage is team size and level of mobs. These days you can play at +4 X8 and grab a LOT more XP/INF/etc than back in the old days and even set the mission to add extra bosses or whatever. PL in th AE building and you could be running missions with nothing less than a lieutenant in sight.
Persoannly I rarely ever farm and the few times I have over the years I was to finish off a level before heading to bed or when there just wasn't anyone doing anything else. Between Task Forces and Trials I can level fast enough I see no real reason to run in circles doing the same thing again and again. But as I always say as long as you aren't violating the TOS .. there is no right or wrong way to play the game. If you prefer to farm.. have fun. -
Quote:I often google random things to find a name for my toons, as I am the world's worst name namer =P
Usually search 'funny character names' and the likes, as I dont take names too seriously.
Another toon I googled french names, found two, and pieced them together.
It all depends on what sort of concept you have in mind for a character. But I too have used Google a number of times to aid in selecting names. This has even including using Goggle Translator to covert a name I really liked that was already taken in English but I converted to.. Italian, Spanish, Latin, Etc.
As an example I recently created a Plant/NA controller and wanted a name similar to Mother Narue or Mother Earth.. I went to Google and looked up Mother Earth and then hit the Wiki site.. I found numerous names throughout Greek and Roman mythology that referrred to Mother Earth and Cyblele Rhea was born [note: Both Rhea and Cybele were alternate names for the Goddes Gaia known as Mother Earth]
An example of using the translator .. I had a DP/Poison blaster and I wanted a name similar to Black Widow.. knowing full well I'd never get that in English. I translated it to Italian and the Widow Black (Nera Vedova) was born.
I have even used sites I discovered through Google search to translate a name I liked into Elvish. Decide what concept you are going for and start surfing the web. -
Quote:The Phantom Menace made $100 million this year.
Obviously a lot of people weren't that disappointed.
To be honest while Phantom had its problems (Jar Jar Binks for one) it wasn't that bad (no where near as good as the original trilogy but still watchable. The one that still has me shaking my head is Clone Wars.
Can someone explain how in movie 1, 4 whatever its supposed to be, Anakin is like 9 or 10 (if that old) and in Clone (clown) wars suddenly he's all grown up and courting the princess... who through some miracle of science doesn't look like she has aged a day? When Phatom ended did she decide.. " Hey that Anakin Skywalker is a great guy. I bet he'll look really HOT when he's older. I think I'll have myself frozen so I can date him when he's like 19." lol Of course we can also add that in all those years mentoring the future Darth Vadar Obi Wan looks alomst the same except we added a beard and slightly longer hair.. "Hey that makes him look decades older right? Umm wrong George
A new hope wasn't much better but by then my expectations were no where near a high .. I simply had to go and see them show HOW Akakin became Darth Vadar. -
This small testimonial took place last night in Atlas and made me laugh. It was so rehearsed like something an AD agency put together that some people were actually chiming in to make fun of them

Quote:As a technicality, the Infernal we have on Primal Earth is implied to have come from Praetoria. There is an equivalent Infernal in Praetoria, presumably from elsewhere, but I think he's been forgotten in favour of every other one...
And likely, there will be one more Praetorian iTrial, but not for a while, theoretically dealing the Praetorian Hamidon.
Not sure that's quite right. Now from this brief8ing found on the wiki Primal Earth Infernal It does state our earth's Infernal comes from another dimension but at not point does it specify that earth is Praetoria.
Unfortunately the briefing on the Infernal we see on Praetoria in Marie Jenkin's arc has far less info... Praetorian Infernal . It only states that Infernal had no one like Numina to help calm him and help him control the demons within him. Just because they share a name doesn't necessarily mean they are one and the same. There is an Aurora on both Primal and Praetoria but they are two seperate women.
Now because we lack more data your idea could be the very reason we never face Infernal in the Trials. After his defeat when we battle him in Marie's Arc he may come to our Earth, meet Numina and become a hero.. But its just as plauable that another Infernal from Another dimension shows up on Praetoria (just as his Primal Earth counterpart does here) and turns to evil under the guidance of Diabolique.
There is one problem with your theory. I dug a bit deeper ad when Issue 1 was released on June 29, 2004 the Praetorians were added as a villain group COH ISSUE ONE with missions from Marie Jenkins. So for 8 years a 45 -50 level hero has been able to battle Infernal in Praetoria and during that same 8 year period the Primal Earth Infernal has been standing in Founders falls next to Numina.. Now I realize he has magic as an origin but to be in two compleetly different dimensiosn at the same time is an awfully hard spell to ccast and maintain for that long. It much more likely that they are two different Infernals from two different dimensions and why we never battle the Praetorian one may never be known???? Heck they actually bring Shadowhunter back from the dead and create another new Praetor in Neo Pendrgaon rather than simply have us face Dominatrix and Infernal. -
VooDoo is right unless someone has a change of heart, doubtful, they have already stated the Trials involving Praetorians are done. Oh and to the OP there are TWO Praetors we never faced in a TF or Trial .. Infernal yes but you are forgetting Preator Duncan (AKA Dominatrix). YES she is in the DA arcs and even serves as one of the contacts there but we never get a chance to face her in combat. The only chance you get to battle either is doing Marie Jenkins arc in PI.

Quote:Ahhh yes how well I remember the "Where the heck is our moon base?" threads. Many years ago (2005 I think) the devs took a poll asking what the players wanted the net zone to be. The Moon Zone came in first place.
Nothing ever came of it. There has even been a long standing thread dedicated to suggestions for a Moon Zone.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=114726
Still waiting.
As to windows in bases. Don't hold your breath. The devs have told us they aren't messing with the base code.
Base changes?
"No, because the Base system is like trying to play Jenga; one wrong removal and the whole system breaks." -Zwill
"It's more like playing Jenga on fire." -Synapse works for the company and he didn't document what he was doing, so the devs are left with a horrible mess of spaghetti code that crashes whenever they try to change things.
Now as for windows at base.. I understand we can't expect major inovations but we do have wall hangings which, in my oprion only (please no ranting), are pretty lame. how hard would it be to design a PICTURE that looks like a window and give us a couple options..
Outer Space (the pictire is a window frame with a black sky dotted with small bright lights (stars) and possibly a partial view of the earth below... I assume this space base is orbitting OUR planet since its where we fight bad guys? hehehe
City Scape .. Same concept just a widown frame with a static picture of the skyline of Steel Canyon or Skyway) They could even give the option of day or night time scenes here.
Under the Sea .. (please refrain from breaking into song here THANK YOU) once again same concept .. just a picture of a window frame with the scene outside being coral reefs and some fish .. maybe a whale or shark).
Underground .. Okay windows here seem a bit ??? unusual? But why not a window with a scene of an underground cavern filled with Stalagemites and Stalagtites (pardon the spellings there).
Absolutely none of these would require and moving parts .. its just a picture that looks like you are looking out a window. Now to TRY and do what I just described and have space ships shooting past the windows of your space base or fish swimming past the window of your underwater lair .. YEAH I could see that as a coding nightmare but we already HAVE the coding in place for a picture on a wall. Doesn't seem like a few more picture choices could be a game breaker... they already did it when they gave us the vet reward of COH comic book covers... again in my opinion.. they only really good looking pics we can hang on our walls!
/em pictures trying to play Jenga when the pieces are in flames. So how do we grab hold without getting third degree burns? -
Well lets see As mentioned I'd definately check out the night Ward missions and you got a good suggestion on using Ouroborus to got back and take a look at the First Ward missions as well. At 35 I always join Vanguard and start running the varius RWZ arcs as they open up to me .. They are well written and maybe its just because I lived through the days when almost NO contact had more than 1-2 missons in the same zone they stood in but I love that not one of the RWZ contacts asks me to leave the RWZ
I normally wait till I am closer to 40 but there is nothing preventing you, at 35 so you get the merits, from joining the Mothership raids in the RWZ as well. Depending on your computer they can be laggy but the XP is good and its a lot of fun to join 40 + other heroes in attacking a ship filled with Rikti!
Also at 35, as long as you have you Midnighter Club Arc completed, head to Cimeroroa .. The arcs are okay but the ITF is probably one of the best TFs out there and you'll find it challenging and fun.
At level 30 you gain access to the Manticore TF .. its a little dated and has quite a few missions but very few defeat alls and most are set up so as long as someone can stealth you can cut the time down considerably. OR if your on a team that all are after XP and have the time you can turn every mission into a defeat all and walk away with a lot of XP and a few levels.
Now I am not sure if your into TFs or not but at 35 you can do the Numina TF .. If you want the TF commander Accolade do this once, scream in frustration, and then run away and never do it again! LOL If you aren't aware the whole TF has a grand total of about 6 door missions and in the middle you are sent on a series of street hunts most against mobs so low you get absolutely NO XP and heaven help you if a Rikti Invasion, Baner event, Zombie ttack or any other Zone wide event occurs. One one Numina the team I was with had to wait while Zombies attacked Faultline ( so we could defeat 20 Vahzilok .. no XP) and then had to wait again while the RIkti invaded Talso (so we could battle 30 Warriors.. again for no XP). If you aren't into bagdes, don't care about the accolade and aren't after merits I'd suggest just skipping this one... The XP isn't even that great becausefew missions are against anything your level. I did one with a character that had 10 bars of patrol XP and still didnt manage to gain one level. -
I'd have to say you favorites are pretty much mine as well.
Whenever Kai/Sutter is the WST I will always pick a Mortimer Kai SF over a Sutter TF .. Sutter is just too confusing at times (how many of you out there have found yurself wondering "where are my team mates?" during the ship to ship battle in mission one) and if you hook up with the wrong PUG the final battle with the two Durays can be a nightmare.
I never really disliked the old Sister Psyche TF but I have to admit I enjoy the format of the Penny Yin TF better ... Its shorter, I never need to leave IP and the way the story plays out is interesting.
I have always enjoyed the Imperious TF and look forward to hitting 35 and being able to run them. In most cases As soon as a character is high enough to do so I run the Midnighter Arc to make sure I am ready and able for the ITF as soon as possible.
Runner (s) up include Manticore.. yeah its older and could probably use some tweeking but its not to long, has stealthable mission (if you want to speeed things up) and presents a good challenge. Now do something with Hopkins at the end and I'd be perfectly happy
Moonfire is good too... Not a lot of kill alls and the ones that are there serve a purpose.. When I go for my Atloas Medallion I head to Striga knowing I can practically get the 200 Vamprii and Warwolves just doing the first two missions! Aside from one talk to mission no one ever needs to leave Striga Island and HEY who doesn't enjoy beating up the Council?
OHH after reading some more of the other posts I should add in ... (add these to my runner's up section above)
STF .. Yeah that's right I still th8ink of it as Statesman's TF Ms Liberty is just watching over it for him now LOL Since I play both sides (red/blue) getting the opportunity to actually battle almost every single Arachnos high level contact in one Tf is a lot of fun. This used to be the second hardest TF/SF in game (the LRSF is harder in my opinion) sadly Incarnate abilities have made it a lot easier to breeze through but its still fun
LAdy Grey .. About the only bad thing abound Lady Grey is that so many people want to rush through it just to get to the end. If your below 50 this thing can get you a TON of XP. I did an advertised KILL ALL LGTF a long time ago and went up almost 3 full levels .. please keep in mind the bug is fixed and you need to be level 45 to join so 3 levels on any TF is impressive. I walked away with over 300 vanguard merits and pile of recipes and salvage (including one purple recipe) and we did all that in less than two hours. -
Quote:/Agreed Don't get me wrong there are plenty of skilled players out there doing trials that have simply gotten tired of just about everything else gamewise but the incarnate stuff and PL to 50 with any new character. But 50 +3 and even all T4 aren't really a GREAT indicator of skill. All a player has to do is find a GOOD league and stick with it and unfortunately they can coast to those levels. Sadly he seemed to have disappeared into the clutches of another MMO but I had a good friend that leade trials constantly and I teamed with every night. He didn't care if a player was 50 +3 or 50 +0 .. He looked for players that had good skills and helped the league. We had a good sized private chat with nothing but players he/we knew and knew they were good at their jobs and we'd run through 5-6 trials a night with NO problems (this was not 5-6 BAFs I am talking BAF, LAM ,KEYES, MOM, TPN, UG)! God I miss himNo. A monkey could have those (I'm pretty sure I've teamed with some monkeys at various points in my team history). That does not constitute skill. It just means you PL'd.
-
I have no problem with the way you leveld but I think by PLing you missed out of some of the benefits of some of those powers you rated. Let's face facts the reason Empathy is no longer in great demand is because at higher levels the need for a "healer" lessens and the need for a buff/debuffer increases dramatically.
I currently have 2 characters with NA. My WB/NA corruptor hit level 25 last night doing POSI and my PLant/NA Controller is at level 20. At lower levels Lifegiving Spores has prover very valuable on numerous occasions. When my corruptor did th Penny Yin TF between my LS and a Plant/NA Trollers not a single team mate died on the task force until the final batttle in the reactor room... (SIGH I wish people would learn to clear the room before clicking the computers and spawning that huge ambush and YES that's exactly when and why we died) Even then only three of us, me included. went down and we recovered quickly and finished the TF. On POSI LS along with the other heals proved invaluable ... when no one dies and I don;t use a single inspiration to get through anything dealing with Vahzilok I am impressed.
Soloing with the coorruptor I will lay down a LS patch and just stya inside it allowing it to heal me while I fight. Seemed to work pretty well I turned 20 level doing the Midnighter Arc solo and didn't die once .. I was having so littloe trouble and som much fun bashing them I didnt even leave the two missions with COT until the maps were cleared.
The thing with LS is it never stops. Every 3 seconds it heals and when you have more than one person with it you can overlap them and double the effect. My playing partner and I are both leveling Plant/NAs and did an experiment outside Atlas Park"s city hall. We both layed out our patched and stood inside. Every 3 seconds we saw green numbers flashing 12 12, 14 14 , 12 12 , 14 14 ... that's 26 HP of healing every 3 seconds on characters at level 20. Consider the amount of damage anything at that level, short of an Av, can do and we don't take much damage. Primarily we find TFs or teams to join but we duoed the Midnighter arc and had absolutely no difficulty against a map filled with Lost Bosses. I currently have exactly 1 healing enhancer slotted along with an end reducer so I will be curious to see how those numbers improve with 2 or 3 heals and at much higher levels. Will it ever be able to allow players on a MOM trial to stand in the pink rings and not die? I SERIOUSLY doubt it but a couple of them layed down in one spot at 50 level could make an AV battle a lot less painful for some squishies. -
Quote:Really? Because I used that power with my WB/NA Corr yesterday. I soloed and everytime I approached a mob the following sequence occured:Stupid power info of the day award goes to...Lifegiving Spores...!
25000 Ticks of 28.91 heal over 27h 46m on target
+1.00% endurance on target unresistable
25000 ticks? I may leave my PC on for a few days, and count it.
1. Lay down Livegiving spores and stay inside the circle for constant heals
2. Debuff the highest level in the Mob.. ie Lieutenant or Boss
3. Use AoEs to damage entire mob
4. Reapply debuffs and continue to attack until nothing is standing
I completed the Midnighter Arc solo and thanks to Lifegiving spores never once found myself in any sort of danger to the point where I actually stayed inside every single mission, even after getting a complete, to defeat every single mob. I completed my Cape mission solo and then grabbed my 20 level costume mission and headed to Talos where I street hunted 30 Tsoo at around my level (20-22) instead of running around Steel defeating ones lower than me and used this same tactic. Is anyone planning to sit in one spot and heal for 27 hours straight? DOUBTFUL but the power itself has seriously good applications.. hardly worh any stupid power of the ..whatever award.
Opps almost forgot after hitting 20 I joined a Penny Yin TF and between my powers and a Plant/NA on the same team there was not a single death on the TF until the final battle in the reactor... When will people learn to clear the room before clicking the computers so they can deal with the huge ambush instead of dying because of it?Even then we had three die, including me, and then bounced back to take out the ambush, defeat Claymor and clear the reactor before leaving.
The set has a lot going on visually but it perfroms very well and the only people I can possibly see complaining would be serious SERIOUS badgers because it is keeping them from obtaining their debt badges in a timely fashion. -
Quote:Funny enough, this decision was made long before even I worked on City of Heroes.
I was told that this was done this way so that powers that targeted allies/other players could easily exclude yourself as a potential target. This was done to promote more "team play" as many of the original designers had a distaste for tankmages and/or 3rd Ed D&D Clerics (can buff/heal/do everything by themselves).
Is it time to rethink that a bit? After all the incarnate system, to some extent, does exactly what not being able to target yourself was supposed to be about. I have Brutes that now have three different Destiny powers at either t3 or t4 and can buff an entire 24 player league (including themselves). Just tel me what you need before we start and I'll switch! I have a Warshade that has earned two badges for HEALING teammantes since getting Rebirth. And now we have Hybrid which can, at two minues on and two minutes off, buff the entire League, or potentially hold entire mobs. At one point the only AT in game that had NUKES were Blasters and to a slightly lesser degree of damage Corruptors and Defenders but now any AT can select Ion as their Judgement power at do huge amounts of damage with very little end drain.
I don't think we need to create the old D+D Paladin that could lop off the head of a dragon with a single sword stroke and then heal the wounds of an entire army but is it so hard to fathom the idea of my BM/Thermal being able to cast buffs on herself as well as her teammates and pets? What good do any of those powers do me or my team if I'm the only one DEAD because I had no defense buffs? -
Quote:NA report after day one.. I created a WB/NA Corruptor now sitting at level 17 after 4 DFBs, some street hunting in Steel and 2 Dibs. Water Blast is a great fit with NA and I see no reason I won't be able to tem or solo with this character. I also created a Plant/NA Controller and that is at level 19 after 5 DFBs and 3 DiBs. This is a great combination with the immobs and holds of Plant and the debuffs of NA leaving everything vulnerable and the heals and buffs of NA making it extremely hard to hurt anyone on a team. I have no intention of adding a BM/NA to the crew but I have a 50 level Beast Mistress and NA seems like it would work very well there as well. Hey make what you like and have fun.Sweet. Now the big question.... What to make, what to make...
Beast/Nature? Plant/Nature? Water/Nature?
Okay on to other issues .. still waiting on the much anticipated, by me anyway, rant about NA turning the game into a flower bed. -
Skill is sort of a "relative" term for lack of a better way to express myself. I sometimes team with a player that, from what I understand, is a very skilled and capable PvP player. He has a fantastic build that even allows him to solo Pylon on Mothership raids. The problem is his TEAMING skills aren't the best in the world. He's been kicked off teams because he feels like he knows more than just about anyone else ane will totaly ignore a leaders instructions and just go do whatever he pleases. At times this has little if any impact on the team but at times it can mean while he's showing off half the team is dying because he's not there controlling aggro. Same player different situation.. at times, when no one else is available, he will organize and "LEAD" a trial. As a solo player, PvP or PvE, he may be great but as a team leader his skills at communicating and planning are terrible. The time to ask how many people have t3 or t4 clarion durning an Underground Trial is before the league goes into Queue not a minute before you enter the final chamber only to discover you have one member with t3 (true story and yes we failed). Your instructions to the league before starting the final phase of a MOM trial can't be STAY OUT OF THE PINK STUFF and then get upset when players, new to the trial, don't kill a nightmare close to Mother Mayhem and she keeps getting to the center of the chamber because no ones holds work (also a true story and YEAH we failed that one too).
To me a Skilled, or as Mephis Bill pointed out, an experienced player is one that knows their powers and how and when to use them. They know what they need to do to support their team and they actually do it. To be perfectly honest I don't view dying in a mission as an indication of poor skills.. I personally have several characters with Rise of the Phoenix and have absolutely no qualms about standing my ground and battling until I drop in a crowd then hitting Phoenix and watching that crowd scatter as my rebirth blasts them and kills many that had already taken damage. In other word I know what my powers can do and I actually plan my attacks around them to maximize the support i give to myself and my team.
Skill can also include knowing your enemy and what works and doesn't work against them.. this applies to both powers and tactics. Rushing headlong into a huge mob of Council and just pounding away till they are gone may work perfetly fine for a certain type of tank or brute. Rushing headlong into a group of Carnies that will use their mez to leave you frozen helpless while their Ironmen beat you to death and then turn on the rest of your team may NOT be the best idea in the world if you don't have Mez protection.
Like you I can sometims tell just how well or badly a TF or trial will go by listening to my team mates chat before hand. A team mate that won't shut up for a minute and actually listen to a leader giving instructions generally means trouble. This generally mean they think they know everything and are going to do whatever they please inside even if it means the team suffers or it means they assume they don't need instruction because every mission is the same and you can do things one way all the time and win. BTW for those reading this that THINK that way .. I'm sorry no that isn't right and blaming the 7 - 23 other members of your team for DYING after you screw up doesn't change that fact.
To me the easiest way to determine if someone is skilled is by watching how they play.. Thankfully this usually doesn't involve team wipes ect. I have used the rating system for some time to WARN me about certain leaders and certain players. There is a player out there with one star over his head and a note that reads .. would not pay attention to leader and was flying during AM battle on Keyes.. melee players couldn't reach the Av half the time. Of course players do learn, grow and usually get better. A leader I know used to have two stars and some rather bad comments in note and then a month or so later without realizing, cause he was on another one of his characters, I teamed with him again and he was outstanding. I uppped the starts over his head.. left the original comments but added.. OKAY he got BETTER! -
Quote:Yeah but the villains get to fight her .. *pouts* I do like the cut scene idea and that would explain why we never see her.I actually don't mind this since Countess Crey is supposed to mostly keep her hands clean. It could stand to have a cutscene of some form at least acknowledging that she's purposely staying out of the way. It would also be nice if the later story arc where you do take her down was easier to get.
As far as Hopkins...yeah, he needs a buff. -
I am looking forward to tomorrow myself. On Beta I rolled a Plant/NA Controller and was very pleased with the result. For a Corruptor you could go NA/WB (water blast) and for an MM I think I'd try BM/NA since both sort of stick with the nature theme.

Quote:Ah don't forget this one too Gob ... Went to be, woke up to find ONE member of the team had logged on hours earlier and completed the entire trial solo because he couldn't stand waiting any longer. [this was not considered a BAD thing by most teams]Fixed to match my first experience with TFs back in late 2005. If the game had stayed like this I can't imagine I'd still be playing (never mind it even continuing to exist).
That was back in the days when if everyone logged off the mobs scaled back and a one man TF would have mobs designed for ONE MAN. Plus back then Posi was, as I recall, the only TF that had no AV battle at the end only bosses that scalled down to lieutenants if one guy was completing the trial.
Oh and someone else mentioned this YES Citadel did get a minor update a few years back. At one point there were three straight kill all missions, possibly the same trio we see now toward the end, that all used the exact same cave entrance in IP [it was located under one end of the bridge to Terra Volta]. The map(s) were much larger and in addition to the same entrance it was the exact same interior map .. the only difference being one time you battled Warwolves and Vamprii, the next Mekmen and the third basic human soldiers and some Galaxies.
Now to my list of things in TFs we need to see fixed..
1. Synapse .. We start with a defeat all followed by a street hunt and a talk to mission (positrion). Then we have three straight defeat alls followed by a patrol (always a favorite of mine .. no xp at all just run all over the zone clicking patrol boxes). After that patrol {SUPRISE} another defeat all followed by another patrol. Then just to add to the annoyance and frustration the first of the missions where a team could actually stealth to the boss and its minions is ALWAYS located deep inside Boomtown. With mission teleporters and now team teleporters available this isn't as awful as it used to be but still.. the FIRST time we don't have to actually kill everything inside a building we have to travel to another zone to do it?
2. Numina .. Already spoke on this LOSE THE STRRET KILLS! Oh and this is sort of a personal thing ... No idea if anyone else cares or not... Wedo this entire TF supposedly to find and rescue The Woodsman. Maybe we could actually make freeing the Woodsman from a few captures a part of the requirements to complete the TF? Not just defeat Jurassic and clear the room he's in!
3. Manticore ... Okay this is a two fer. Firts is there really a reason we need to have 2 street hunts in this thing? One in Brickstown, which at least leaves us in the same zone as the next two stealthable missions. But the second is in Crey's Folly and more often than not here is exactly how it plays out. We travle to Kings Row and free the councilman and then head to CF to defeat Crey. Once that's over we head to another zone (sometimes right back to KR) to complete the final mission. Okay I did say it was a two for one ... through out the entire TF we supposedly are chasing down Countess Crey and when we enter the final mission who o we get to battle? Hopkins her bodyguard. Now at some poit this guy may have actually been a threat but these days its embarassing how fast almost any team can defeat him. I know I am NOT the only person that feels this way because I have been part of a lot of short after TF discussions.. How about letting us actually fight Countess Crey!
Having suffered through a number of the old Positrons to get TF commander I must say I am very impressed with the revamp. Personally I never disliked the Old Sister Psyche TF it had a lot of missions that could be stealthed if you wanted or you could take all day grabbing XP. Obviously at the very least it needed to be renamed when SISTER P died in the SSA and was replaced with Penny Yin. That said I also enjoy the new format of the Yin TF. So the Devs are gradually making improvements and I think there is a real chance we'll see more changes in the future. One big diffrence you notice with the two revamps is travel time. The old Posi took you on a tour of every zone they could find that a 10-15 level could possibly survive in (if they were lucky). The two new ones don't do nearly as much zone hoping. Part one send you to Atlas Park for one mission.. all the rest are in Steel. Part two has one mission in Steel and then we move on to Faultline where we stay until the TF is complete. Same with Penny Yin. Sister P had you travel to numerous zones before the end.. the YIN TF NEVER leaves IP!
Keep it up guys you are doing ok! -
Quote:It used to be that in order to get marie you either needed Tina or others to intro you or through completing a Safeguard and getting an intro from the Police but these days at level 45 she now shows up under the find contact button that appears when you pull up your contact list. Not only don't you need anyone to introduce her anymore but through that tab you could be in Atlas Park and be instantly teleported to her. Times and procedures changeI don't believe you can.
Check your "Find Contacts" button. Each level range has at least one "oldschool" contact on the list.
If she isn't there, any level 45-50 contact - including the Safeguard detectives - can introduce ANY of the contacts in that level range. You'll just have to keep getting new introductions from various contacts until she shows up.By the way the same is now true of Tina McIntyre at 40 for those looking to defeat all the PRAETORS before level 50 + whatever.

Wait you have been around since 2005and your complaining about Citadel? Have you forgotten what Positron was like before the update? There were times teams used to break, go to bed, and meet back up the next day to complete it. And of course Doc Q in the Shadowshard can still be a nightmare. I did Citadel over the double xp weekend and I realize everything is relative depending on how much time someone has to spend on line but the team I was with managed to fonish in under 90 minutes. It has a number of stealthable missions and the three defeat alls toward the end have always been fairly small bases that didn't take too long to finish up.
If I was to change anything next it would be Numina. I had a character that needed that for TF Commander and did it over the weekend. Take away all those street hunts (time wasters) and that TF has exactly 6 missions that give XP.... of all the street hunts the only one you get xp from is the Rikti in FF. Then of course there are the interruptions while hunting foes like OUTCAST in Steel. On one Numina we had to wait for a zombie invasion to end in Faultline to finish off the Vahz we needed and then again a Rikti invasion caused a second delay when we were after Warriors in Talos.
Eventually I could see them updating Citadel but we have several other TFs that need work MUCH sooner -
Yes I saw that but I just assumed Zwill had forgotten to take his medication.
The one I found hysterical was on day on of double XP weekend he logged on and in typical NC Soft red letters was inviting everyone to join him in Pocket D for a possible free aura. At the time I was in the middle of an ITF working my DP/Poison Corruptor to level 50. Fora brief moment I contemplated sending back a message on LFG .. "Thanks for the invite. Now if you can just come back on Monday, after 9AM Eastern Time, I'd love to join you. Until then If I am on line I am leveling." Hmmmm let me think Double XP, INF and prestige or .. an Aura? You know come to think of it the jibberish post and the invite to Pocket D were not that many days apart.. Maybe Zwill was out of meds for a few days LOL -

Quote:So, you're sitting and waiting... the little window says 23 of 24 people have agreed to join in the BAF Trial you are impatient to go attempt... and you're waiting... and waiting...
You probably want to say something... and someone has already grabbed the ubiquitous "There's always one" tag... so.. here are a few alternative suggestions...
* It rubs the lotion on its skin and then it presses the green button
* Seriously... it's time to upgrade to a COLOR monitor...
* I KNOW color blind people have the same rights as everyone else but this is NO time for a passive protest!
* You have failed every timed standardized test you've ever taken, haven't you?
* I'm writing a request to the Devs... if we have to wait like this the least they could do is insert the Jeopardy Theme Music...
* Use the mouse! You don't HAVE a touch screen yet!
* Ladies and gentlemen... introducing the most passive-aggressive person on the internet!
* Virus sent
* Your mom still reminds you you were two weeks overdue and took 72 hours of labor, doesn't she?
* You can click to accept it... really... the Humancentipad episode was only a JOKE...
* It's probably for the best... we were all going to vote you off the island anyway...
* When you finally return to the game window and read this... I hope the pron was worth it.
* Take the Green Pill! Come ON MAN! Kung Fu in a 4 second download!
* Press the button! The team leader just sent me a Private Tell guaranteeing you'll get a Very Rare this time!
* It's Zwillinger again... this happens every time... he has a custom interface with options "Yes", "No" and "Tangent"...
A few I have used to add a touch of humor to that LONG wait:
* Don't they just look so darn cute when the fall asleep at the keyboard like that.
* All I had was a purple button. I pushed it and now someone named Neo keeps sending me tells and asking about the Matrix? What's that all about?
* It's the GREEN button <-------- The one on this side.
As always Steel your post makes me smile, laugh, giggle, ROFL, LMAO .. oh my I think I may have just wet myself.
