Likewise, why does most popular US music not really feature southern or western US accents? Why do country singers always try to sound like they're from the mid-western US, even if they're from a different country?
You can hear a BIT of the lilt in their music, but honestly NOT as much as it actually exists in their speaking voices.
Proof: "If I Could Be Like That" The accent is THERE for sure, but is still relatively light.

I was just posting this over in the Euro Lounge, when I looked at the thread counts for all the threads in each sub-forum. Only 38 posts here as opposed to a HUNDRED something for the Euro lounge? Are there really that few of you Aussies and Islanders out there, or are you just that much more quiet?
I play almost exclusively on Justice, "The Aussie Server" and I see lots of people there during the "normal" peak times for that part of the world.... so why haven't we had another post in this forum for like TWO days before I started this thread....

....when you sing? This is something that I've always noticed for years, but just thought to actually ask some foreigners.... when Brits, Aussies, and even some from a non-English speaking background sing, they often times "lose" their accent and "sound American".
Why is this? Do any of you know? Is it by accident, or is it planned? Do they "sound American" on purpose to sell more records in America, or is it just the way the voice changes when the sounds are elongated?
Some examples:
Brits
Elton John
Spice Girls
Irish
The Corrs
U2
Aussies
Olivia Newton-John
Bee Gees
Heck even the RUSSIANS sound American when singing English: Tatu
And most of these people have pretty THICK accents when speaking...
So, can ANYONE answer to me why this happens? -

Anyone that says "so what?" You have to realize that I can't STAND being "the bad guy" so to take a villain to level 50.... was quite a feat for me. The only way I could accomplish it was to make my villain..... not so villainous. He'll probably be the first one to switch sides once Going Rogue comes out.

I'd like to present to you all the latest Level 50 villain on Justice, and my first red-side:
He was sitting in the mid 30s for ages, because I honestly just couldn't stand villain side. Then I finally got the gumption to do something more with him on this latest double XP weekend. I brought him all the way up to level 45 from... I think 33... in that weekend alone by running full PuGs of villains. Inspired by the character who grew on me, I gave him a bit of a backstory. Since I can't stand being "the bad guy" instead I basically made him into a misunderstood kid with a horrible upbringing. The bio hints that he finally got tired of his abuse and killed his own dad.
Yes, all you flamers out there, he's a whiny emo brat.
Anyways, So being at level 45, with an acceptable (to me at least) back story, I decided to concentrate and bring him the rest of the way to finally get my first level 50 villain.
After playing on these PuGs for a bit, I realized that I was doing MUCH more damage than almost the rest of my teammates combined.... and leading the teams. So I was doing most of the work and still just getting 1/8th of the "credit". So I decided to solo the last 5 levels. I set my settings to even con and worth 8 villains and went on my way. I found a nice combo of the Mu powers + Foot Stomp and Hand Clap. Paired with my Willpower secondary and consistent use of Lucks, I was able to solo almost every mob with relative ease.
Well, ALMOST every mob. There were exceptions. On my way up I decided to take a couple videos of my last level, for you all to enjoy.

Hope you all enjoyed the videos, and the short story. Now I'm torn as to what to do next. I've got a Defender and a Scrapper and now a Brute to 50. I want to take a break from Villain side and come up with a new concept that I can be happy with. I'll have to think about this for a while... maybe a Controller... hmmm....

P.S. Aside from needing to update some of their old and out of date messages.... is it just me, or do these forums need an "O" face added to the options for Post Icons. You know, the "O" face... It seems to be missing.

Two more issues:
1. I use Knockout Blow all the time because with a full Fury bar it INSTANTLY KILLS any singe minion that I use it on. Except a blue con Loyal Citizen... who only loses half their life. These guys are something like two times tougher than any other super powered character.....
2. Anyone else see anything wrong here
