Or even more tram related stupidity

(you may need to use the zoom function to read it, I sized it wrong)
Though on a serious note I agree with the idea of having it as a higher lvl gain, it makes sense that at a higher lvl you would have better control over your travel powers so a considerable boost would be logical. -

I've just earned my 45 month badge. For me that's a hell of a long time on one game so that says something (to me anyway). There's not a huge amount in the game that I haven't seen or done. I'm not logging in a great deal at the moment because I need a rest from it. I'm not contemplating cancelling my subscription because I know I'd regret it very quickly. I just need a change of scenery for a while. I'm off to something completely different, Openlife - a beta on the OpenSim grid - that's a competitor to second life for those who haven't seen it yet. Don't think I'm leaving CoX though, that simply won't happen for a long time yet!

I think this post sums up the answer to most peoples concerns in this thread (and many others)
Like Calamity I have played the game for a while.
I started the game from release then left when vills was released for other things - travelling - other games etc, then returned 18 months ago and have been non stop - aside from a break in the summer....
So my point is this, the game is made of a tight knit community with many a long serving member, and people require change from time to time, so when something new comes up they will go give it a shot...or maybe they just need a break, but if other issues are an indication...those who love the game return to here after a while so these dips in "numbers" are to be expected (yes they are dwindling a little but not dramatically)
This is after all a game that has stood the test of time for over 4 years and amongst other (massively marketed) competition has still managed to keep its head above the water...imho the devs are working towards something bigger and better for us ...even with so called competition on the horizon.
Remember this though, this game isnt perfect, it never will be but the strength of an MMO lies with the community and the fact that guys on here go nuts when they find something to their dislike I take that as a positive sign ...think about it, why go nuts over something you dont care about?? so on that belief id take this game over anything else out there, ill play this game untill the last server boots me out (or the missus burns my PC)
-
Its because that particular mission gives a badge itself, any flashback arc that has a badge already applied will not give any "flashback" badges (for example 46-50 - rescue rikti negotiator, that gives the "bodyguard" badge so you wouldnt be able to get the flashback ones)
If you want a clear list on what missions give badges check the badgehunter website it has a comprehensive list, or if you are on union pm me ingame (@stryke) or join sals badgehunter channel, will be willing to help, i have a listing at home on my pc as to which are the missions in each level range that are the quickest to rinse/repeat for the badges needed.
Hope that helped mate -
I am still trying to breach the RP community here but my main may be just about right
Stryke
a.k.a Scott Tyrell
Once a fighter pilot for a test facility out on the edges of paragon, Scott suffered a malfunction over the rogue isles while on a test flight for a prototype aircraft which utilised cerebral interface controls.
While he escaped the crash unharmed he was later captured by Arachnos, who handed him over to Aeon Tech along with the remains of the equipment he had on him, what the deal was between Aeon and Arachnos is unknown, but over the years Scott was subjected to multiple brutal experiments that essentially changed his body into a living battery of energy...(for what purposes he still seeks the answers to)
Many years later a bedraggled figure emerged in paragon at an an old test flight base claiming to be scott "stryke" tyrell, and after the powers that be confirmed his identity they realised he was to be more use to them with these wonderous new "powers" he had gained, so while now on a very short leash as it were....he is free to find out the reasons of his incarceration and eventual mutilation at the hands of Aeon and his cronies.
(ok a little long but i had to establish his background to ascertain his credentials for those who dont know of him)
if this is of any use to you please let me know, he may be able to unlock certain doors but as there are eyes on him at all times it cannot be for uses which may be "contrary to the wishes of the government" -
Well in my experience the most fun ones to solo are the Ouroboros TF's as they tend to provide you with some EB to partner with, for example Nosferatu in the 5th column overthrow, that is a cool tf.
Especially on my Warscythe..my BS/WP scrapper (the one I sent you the build for) the last mish taking on the three remaining EB's (yes I didnt max the difficulty...im not suicidal
) as when the ambushes come...and they come in waves, all it did was boost Rttc to silly lvls
The jade spider is fun also, you tend to get a few helping hands throughout, Manticore on a few then the last mish ...well I dont want to spoil it but safe to say the mission feels like youre a teacher at registration, with the most amount of followers you can get bar a mastermind
One tip though mate, if you want to see how your toon fares against an AV or high lvl EB try this, once you hit 50 and you want to test your new mega toon out, go to ouroboros and select "distrupt nightstars ritual" its a blindingly easy mish, simply find nightstar on one of the rooftops and defeat her...so all I did when testing Warscythe was to start on heroic, jump in, find her ...kill her then exit...done in 4 mins flat so then bump up the difficulty/rinse/repeat untill you find the lvl you are happy at
This is an easy way to test your toons survivability vs an AV that just deals damage, holds etc will come later but its a good (and very fast) way to experiment on your builds imho. -
"Glass Cannon" is one I heard a while back and stuck in my head
But as per the two choices you gave mumsie, I would tend to lean towards Blapper -

God is that the tune from the racoons?!?!
Man that was probably the best saturday morning tunes I heard as a child...god that has dredged up memories ...am I that old? -
My avatar of battle Warscythe, ploughing through a cavernous section of one of Cimerora's underground lairs bases....decimating all of Romulus' finest...cleaving through the troops like cardboard looking for a "worthy opponent"
Standing on a precipice facing a Cyclops, he smiles under his hood and draws his blade........
All to Molossus by James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer ....so perfect
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo9eZ_cHAkU -
Scott "stryke" Tyrell, wandering through the broken gates of his old units base, passing the broken and disused aircraft he used to share with his squadmates before the decimation by the rikti then subsequant plundering by Aeon/Crey.
Then pausing at his old hangar to reflect on old times...cannot think of a better tune than this...

((edit..this pc at work is bobbins so for those wishing to know the tune before clicking the link, its Keep what you got by Ian Brown (manchesters favourite son) ft Noel Gallagher)) -
Ok here goes....
In cimerora:
Time's Arrow - Imperious(35 to 50)
In the shadowshard (via peregrine isle)
Explorers and Exploiters - Dr. Quaterfield(40 to 44)
^this one is the doozy...soo damn long^
The Legend of Ruladak - Sara Moore(40 to 50)
The Saga of Faathim - Justin Augustine(44 to 50)
The Saga of Lanaru - Faathim the Kind(44 to 50)
In Independance port
Statesman's Task Force - Statesman(45 to 50)
(there is the "master" version of this, no deaths etc etc its pretty tough but worth the bragging rights)
In the Rikti War Wone
The Lady Grey Task Force (LGTF)- Lady Grey(45 to 50) this is still bugged for 35's to join in too
And in orobouros
Trading Places - Mender Silos(46 to 50) Nice quick TF
P.S there is the eden trial and numinas which "caps" at 40 but still fun to do (unless you do a numina tf during the endless zombie/rikti invasions it becomes an annoyance for the "killX" missions, hope this helped -
I have to repeat my sentiment I said before everyone disbanded, ok we didnt win but as tsumi said it gave us points to work on, so big thanks to Tsumi/SGT MP/Mothers love for running it .....and the fact so many stayed on regardless of how far we were or were not getting just re-affirms my belief in the strength of the community that puts this game over all others regardless of numbers....good show guys
now all we need to do is send the devs one of mumsies infamous "corrupt cookies" and show them what a pain in the [censored] can really be -
Ok well from what I have seen on the forums Ol' Phants has a lot to say about the games points good and bad, and from what I have been able to glean from that makes him passionate about the game and the community...
someone who isnt afraid to stand against the common grain even if he gets berated for it, that in my book is unabashed honesty....plain and simple - keep up the straight talkin me celtic chum
And for the bad joke......
I went to the local video shop and I said "Can I borrow Batman Forever?"
He said, "No, you'll have to bring it back tomorrow"

Ok on the channel and registered on the forum, War is now set in the D awaiting the arrival of the rest...gonna make a cuppa in the meantime (not very war-like but hey
)

Excellent!
Thanks a lot, will be good to get my teeth into this, been perusing the thread at work today, and I have to say very well done, I like the setup, great coverage with the videos etc.
So what do I do, just turn up in the D? or is there a global channel to join? -

Frank Zappa named his kids Dweezle and Moon Unit because he didn't want the responsibility of naming them. So he picked names they'd want to change when they were old enough to decide on something themselves.
Neither of them did.

You forgot Ahmet Emuukha Rodan and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen.
man that guy was madder than a box of frogs -
Plus I have to say time and time again when I am running/teaming on a TF I have cringed when the different NPC's ..enemy or ally have thanked "task force weeble/tofu/athletes foot" ... seriously the names tend to be more damaging than half the AV's you encounter
I know the old saying "whats in a name" ...well severe embarrasment for one, just look at Bob Geldoffs kids
So for the second time in 10 minutes I say...

Join sals, it helped me alot. After dxp weekend i was left with a 42 blaster and difficulty to find tf's and missions. I was chugging along to 47 when everything just stopped aside invites to sk someones alt at a farm and i had to play other toons. Then i joined sals and finally got to do lots of tf's along with teaming with some really great players that made me learn alot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sals is a definate on Onion, I had made the transition from Red to Blueside last november and joined a very good sg (art of war) as a veritable newb to heroes, then mid year as we lost some players whenever I found us wanting to do an sg TF we would use union badgehunters as a point of reference for getting those last members.
Then after a brief hiatus from the game I returned to an essentially dead channel only to find Sals was the new place to be, and has been since, a great player base of people willing to help and always can find members to join a TF or some kind of hunt....although it has been a little quiet of late I can still find a good team via that channel. -

Ok I cannot believe I have missed this thread completely, I would like to bring along my budding RP'er and recently build changed Warscythe to the fight if it is possible, this kind of setting and the reasoning behind it is perfect for his character, A herald of a larger force sent to ascertain the viability of the "supers" (this doesnt mean he is a god/or have any such related nonsence - he is purely a warrior, nothing more) so this setting is ideal for him...hence my desparation to be involved even though I have only just stumbled across it
