It does happen sometimes, but if it becomes the most damage-efficient way of doing things, it will happen all the time. You might as well rename Brutes to Tankers, and Tankers to Stalkers. So I guess Stalkers will have to become Brutes.

Rewarding Tankers for not having aggro seems like a bad idea.

I think the next Batman movies will be a little lighter and more toy-friendly.

Here's a bit of expensive slotting I like on my Tank:
Invincibility: Luck of the Gambler (Def), Luck of the Gambler (Def/+Rech), Shield Wall (Def/End), Shield Wall (Def)
Tough Hide: Luck of the Gambler (Def), Luck of the Gambler (Def/+Rech), Shield Wall (Def), Shield Wall (+3% Res)
On top of the powers themselves, that combo gives you 15% Recharge, 40% Regen, and +3% Resistance. -
+20% to Psi would be the best part. I already have about 20% resistance in my build, it does make a difference (the 20% defense is probably a big part of that too.) Most Psi attacks seem to do a little less damage, or heal back if it's illusionary, so it doesn't take as much resistance to really notice a reduced effect.

I'm still unclear on what those IOs availibility will be since I won't be buying those random packs. Hopefully I can get a set from the auction house and try it out.

What could have made these signature stories stand out is using the new mission tech to create story trees, that branch off in different directions based on player actions, rather than a series of linear arcs which play out to a pre-determined conclusion.
-
Have the enemies drop tips for special missions in that zone, give badges for doing those missions.
It's not much, but it gives players a reason to team up and check out the zone. -
I'm not a fan of the Fighting Pool on Tanks, or any Melee AT really, because more melee attacks and toggles is just boring. So I don't take it, and I've gotten along fine without it.
When the Cardiac Alpha power came out, I noticed you could hit the Smash/Lethal resistance cap (90%) without Tough, but it took a crazy amount of overslotting and set bonuses. But with the new Resilient power, it was much more reasonable. I didn't have to overslot anything. The Shield Wall IO was obviously very expensive though, and I also used three Gladiator's Strike sets. But I did it:
I still prefer the Cardiac. Once you get used to that Endurance Reduction bonus, it's hard to live without. And my S/L resistance only drops to 85.91. I just did this for fun. -
Quote:I've never read the comics, so I didn't see any connection to Statesman either. If there is, it can't reflect well, because the arc is a series of forced-failure missions. In the context of the game, the arc seems to have nothing to do with Statesman. Also, after doing it just now I realised that I have, in fact, done it before. And the best part was that Cyrus was still alive at the end of it despite the mission text stating otherwise.

Quote:No, it's pretty easy. We're all the star of our own story.Who's supposed to fill that void?
Us?
We've already covered that our characters don't exactly count, since it's either ALL of us or none of us (and one is easier to write than the other)
Each character exists in their own world where they are the ultimate hero. Those worlds overlap, but that doesn't matter. As far as you're concerned, you're the star. -
Quote:I loved the Adventure Construction Set. The loading times would probably drive me crazy today, but for the commodore 64 it was amazing. If Mission Architect was a mistake, then I'm glad they made it. I can't help but feel that way, but I know it's a selfish thing to say (if it was bad for them as a studio), like saying you're glad someone shot himself in the foot. But Issue 14 (the MA issue) is what brought me to City of Heroes. I remember the day my brother told me an online superhero game had come out with a modern day "Adventure Construction Set", a game that had captured my imagination when I was a kid.
And I totally agree about the Mission Architect. Even with its problems, I think it was totally worth it and still has a lot of untapped potential. The devs being game creators themselves, I can't help but think they feel the same way. -
It was pretty funny, but I wouldn't even call it this season's best. That would be the episode with Neil Gaiman, which was hilarious.

Apparently marketing studies show people liked to be spoiled, which is why so many movie trailers give away most of the plot.

Boo to the trial queuing system!
Other than that, good times! -
I don't have a lot of iTrial experience, and I don't know what many of the rings and such around me mean, so to play it safe I'll often hang back and tank at range. I use Taunt, Hurl and Laser Eye Beams, and they seem to work good. The AVs usually start yelling warnings at me pretty quick, anyway.

Show tune versions of songs I was sick of 25 years ago?
I'm trying to imagine how much I'd have to be paid to see this... -
Don't sell your characters short, we've always been the main hero. Statesman is just a contact and occasional hostage.
-
So the hero-side Part 5 is pretty much auto-fail?
-
My problem with Becktrees is he reminds me of rapping Tom Hanks.
-
No one should die. I'm a superhero, saving people is what I do.
-
Oh snap, you figured it out!
Now they're going to have to switch it to Hank Hall.
