Quote:I don't believe it was a financial burden per se to stop supporting those languages - but let's say (making up numbers here) - the total playerbase was 1000. Out of that 1000 only 11 spoke French and 9 spoke German. Would it make sense to continue to support those languages since it delays the release date?Given that they are in the financial situation that they have two shut down support for two languages soon, no I don't think they are secretly working on a CoH upgrade.
Delays the release date? How so? All the finalized content is written in English. Then all the content has to be translated as correctly as possible to either languages. That includes all mission text, powers, navigation, UI, powers, etc. etc. etc.
Make sense now? -
You'd have people paying $11.99 a month *just* to have the added pleasure of iCarnate experience.

I rarely ever get the GMOTD.

I would still like to believe that this "next gen MMO" is not itself a new game or a COH 2.0, but an upgrade to the original COH. Like, building a new game engine to break free of Cryptic Studios greatly haggard 1999 engine, but can still maintain the current game we have.
If that makes sense. -
Quote:New fiscal quarter commences May 1st.I thought the golden rule was one retail powerset per fiscal quarter? In which case, we just started a new quarter, so...
Oh dear, its gonna be a long wait for a new powerset after staff goes live, isn't it?

Let's not forget: the wind was really sucked out of the Staff Fighting hype when someone last year did some Pigg Diving (obviously) and released a video of the set.
So you can thank your fellow players who continue to break the TOS and release information. So when a set gets exposed ahead of time (thanks, pigg divers!) and ruins all the potential marketing and hype that might have gone in to it, you'll have to learn to understand why it does't get rushed to Live -
I'm not a fan of stuff that doesn't do things for me (cats, small children, other drivers, etc.) I would be more enticed to buy that has a small added bonus (recharge increase, MARTY protection, portable insp vendor, etc.)
So for me, personally, I most likely won't ever buy a vanity pet - that isn't to say there aren't people who won't want to buy vanity pets to complete a character look.
I just want my pets to do things. Like sing, "Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday..."
But that's just me. -
Well those "audio" auras could be interpreted visually - i.e. radio waves or signal emitters from antennas (or head, fists, torsos, eyes, etc.)
-
People are moaning about Staff Fighting not coming out this week even though it was stated it wouldn't be coming out this week...? Perhaps we need a literacy and/or reading comprehension temp power for some people.

Burn, damn you, burn! -
Peanut Butter
Then Willpower.
I can't bring myself to make a Tank or a Brute without using Willpower.
And Peanut Butter. -
The normal mapping on the female face looks amazing and the rest of the costumes look great as well.
Will this pack also include a Sci-Fi aura? -
Mmm, Sooper Packs... I might need to invest in some moar soon.

You need to make sure your farm build has at least three travel powers and Health & Stamina six slotted.

I had hoped to splurge my tax refund on Paragon Points but Real Life intervened

I've spent about $45, not including my monthly subscription.

Or perhaps they are transforming COH into a next gen MMO

Kudos to the lucky winner in Maryland.
Please, God, let it be a COH player. -
Quote:Quoted for posterity; this response from GG contains no smilies, no tongue, no smarminess.Positron said recently that a Kings Row revamp would be his personal choice for the next zone revamp, because of the big break between it and the new Atlas content.
I think it'd be really cool - it could become out Gotham, and would make a nice turn to the darker side of the city after the bright face players first see in Atlas park - and once KR was done, players could head back to the brighter stuff in Steel Canyon, or stick with the urban decay in Skyway City.
But there are several design/financial problems with revamping KR, starting with with co-op problems - the devs have said that they prefer to add co-op environments to get the most bang for their buck - but the level range of KR makes it hard to see what kind of epic threat there could be there that'd need Heroes and Villains to team up.
One solution could be to have 2 versions of it for each side, like Ouroboros.
The next problem is its level range - the Atlas and Mercy revamps were needed as the first intro to the game for new players - but spending the same amount of time and effort on KR when low level progress is so fast mightn't be seen as a good return on their investment.
A financial problem would be the way that they seem to be going with the plan of VIPs getting new zone content for free, while non-VIPs pay for it - that's not a problem for DA, as it's a unique Incarnate zone, and Talos was already overflowing with content before First Ward was added - but having KR be a purchasable content zone feels like it'd be not only too early, coming right after the opening zone, but also that there's not really another free zone for non-VIPs to use instead, unlike Talos as the alternative to First Ward.
KR is bacically hard to make into a co-op zone, is at the level where it can be blasted through very quickly, and is also at the level where it'd be difficult to charge non-VIPs for its content.
