    I don't think it does any energy damage

    If it does light the slick still, i think that's a bug.

    Couldn't agree more.

    Mmm, aahh... so much meaty thunking.

    As with the choreography in he Bourne movies, Jet Li does 'The Dance' very well. I'm sure you understand to which dance I refer.

    If you are not already familiar with him, please allow me to submit another candidate for introduction into the sacred halls of the pantheon of scrapper gods. The inimitable Tony Jaa. Most of the scenes in the link are taken from his movie Ong Bak. The art is called Muy Thai. Please believe me, Ong Bak 2 is even better.

    *Twitches slightly*

    Muai Thai. or Muay Thai if your going for phonetic spelling.

    Sorry, didn't mean to be rude...just...kinda irks me.

    Beautiful. I'd love to see if you got past level 20 before giving up from frustration.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hey, if I can take a Sonic Res/Energy Blast to level 50, I can do it with this. Especially since I'll have Entanglement Arrow & Glue Arrow to help me fully enjoy Ignite and Flamethrower

    Plus, nothing says EVIL like firing an EMP Arrow then unleashing Full Auto on some FACES!

    Yes, Faces needed to be capitalized.

    it'll be especially sweet once I get Vanguard Weapons. Talsorian Bow and Vanguard Redding Riffle? Yes please.

    I just wish the Mace Epic had a MACEINURFACE power like Clobber or something.

    Then that would be truly epic.

    And besides, if pulling out the mace bothers me, I can always just grab the Patron Shield and Focus Accuracy.

    Great scene for sure. Brandon Lee was definately more scrapper like in Rapid Fire, though(just meaning less ranged attacks).

    My favorites include: Much of Kung Fu Hustle, both for entertainment value, and some nifty Martial Arts. And most Jackie Chan movies for the same reason, especially Drunken Master, and Rumble in the Bronx(pretty terrible movie, superior fighting).

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I'm a big Dual Pistols + Katana + Martial Arts scrapper fan. And the Dual Pistols attacks weren't much more than the seven feet of most scrapper attacks. Besides, they were borrowed pistols. He didn't come in with any weapons. They must have been temp powers.

    Rapid Fire was fun too. Ditto Kung Fu Hustle, Drunken Master, while Rumble in the Bronx sucked, the fighting was fun.

    Hmmm, with customizable powers, I'm going to need to finally start a Martial Arts scrapper.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Watch some of Jackie's older work, where he is alot younger.

    His fight with Benny the Jet is all sorts of sick. Both times he fights him are just simply amazing. The end of the movie Gorgeous has some badass fighting as well as the end of Project A 2, the Armour of God

    Also, if you haven't seen Ong Bak 2 yet. WTH are you waiting for.

    You want action? Ong Bak 2 delivers.
  6. Vojin

    No one loves me!

    Honestly, I can tell you this as someone who, after 2 years, managed to get his Sonic Res/Nrg Defender to 50...run with friends/an SG. A lot of PuGs I tried to work with in the early levels of his career were like "wth is this?", completely ignoring the fact that they were surviving longer when I buffed them.

    I ended up playing him, in the low levels, as a weak blast-troller, running up and KBing tough targets and then weakening them. The only people who really liked me were scrappers/tanks who I put Disruption Field on. (i've yet to put it on a brute....xcept my buddy's).

    Sonic Res is a tough road.

    But when you get with a smart team in later levels, especially since you are Sonic/Dark, you will be quite welcome. Tankers of all sorts love me, especially Invuln and Willpower (willpower even more so.. Regen powered, and then I drop 40%+ res on them? wooha). And Sonic/Dark seems all sorts of stupid survivable to me, especially with the toHit debuffs and the self heal.

    Don't be afraid to be crazy though. :-D

    Also. it's not you.

    Hmm, wonder what Demon Summoning/Storm Summoning will be like...

    And in the end, the base damage Foot Stomp does is less than Fire Sword Circle, that you already have access to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Don't care about that. It's the radius and appearance I want. They nerf the radius I'll be bummed. But really I just want the powerset. If dragon tail (that's MA's AoE right?) gets the Footstomp animation, I'll probably be cool. Although it would be [naughty word for engaging in coitus] weak to lose the radius.

    I might start nerfherding on Brutes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    if Dragon's tail got Footstomp Animation...

    I've suggested this a few times already but I don't even know if this game even allow a real Jump and Kick to happen.

    What I mean is making Eagle Claw a 20'-30' range attack but instead of shooting something out of your legs (like Focus), you actually Fly, Kick and LAND near the target.

    The only thing that is close to this idea is Lightning Rod type of power but you actually have to select an area first.

    I think it will be a fantastic buffing idea for Martial Arts as it lacks any real advantage over Dark Melee and Energy Melee as ST Damage Set, and it fits the theme very well too.

    What do you guys think?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Something like this is what Shield Charge was meant to be. Alas, despite a LOT of work from Sunstorm, BABs and myself, there ended up not being a way to get this functionality to work.

    And I for one am thankful it didn't. Eagle's Claw is just great the way that it is.

    But then again, since Earth is usually depicted as being unmovable and strong, would a Stone Armor/Nrg Melee/Stone Tanker be better. (this too, would make sense thematically, since he has a brute version of himself that is Nrg/Elec, so he's already figured a way to make his Energy Blast gauntlets into Energy Melee attacks. And he is becoming versed in melee combat.)

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Stone Armor takes a lot of patience to play; more than I have at least.

    But...but...

    And I'm only restricting myself because I only have one good name to use... >_>
  18. Ugh, I figured I'd come to you folks to help me make a decision.

    I'm having trouble in deciding between two characters to roll.

    My main, Vojin ( as depicted in the picture ) is preparing for the Super Science Booster Pack by developing a formula that will grant him the protection of an Earth/Gaia spirit. He will inject himself with the temporary serum and be granted the abilities.

    But I can decide!

    Do I make an Earth/Thermal/Stone controller and make him an AoE control/team buffing/melee smashing beast (the buffing would make sense, thematically, since he is a Sonic/Nrg Blast/Psi {or Power, depending on build] Defender), and since the Earth Control set offers Volcanic Gasses, I thought Thermal would be a good thematic pairing.

    But my question is, which would YOU pick to roll.

    *waits for someone to say roll both...*

    And if i posted this in the wrong section, tell me, and I'll post elsewhere.

    This leads into a further question. If they did go with this last choice, which sets would they have to choose from? Would they be able to choose any epics? (Doubtful?)

    Would it be like this (In terms of Access to Epic sets):
    Brutes = Scrapper
    MM = Tankers
    Corruptors = Defenders
    Dominators = Controllers
    Stalkers = Blasters????

    That would create all SORTS of unbalance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I think it would go (for balance??) like this:

    kheldians and blasters <--> dominators
    masterminds <--> controllers
    stalkers <--> scrappers
    brutes and arachnos <--> tankers
    corrupter <--> defender

    Those pairings aren't functional equivalents but sort of closest to powerset coverage equivalents in terms of what they get in the auxiliary/patron power pools.

    maybe since its an expansion there will be entirely new pools (with a lot of reused powers) including auxiliaries for villains, patrons for heroes, and those who "go rogue" will have only the auxiliaries to choose from and can't get patron pools (on both sides).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I Bolded the part that worries me.

    If they DO create new epics, I can't wait to hear all the complaining about balance on that. It'll be fantastic.

    Thanks for all the replies guys!

    This still kinda worries me though.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
    I've love to see alternate Patron arcs that involve being a hero taking down your Patron and Lord Recluse to steal their powers.

    Same for villains too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This would be cool.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rogue is based in pratorean earth where our bad guys are their good guys and vice versa, so it would still make perfect sense =]

    [/ QUOTE ]

    See, with this, I would have to disagree

    Our Bad Guys are their good guys. So, if my good guy, in this alternate world, turns bad, why would he still have access to abilities granted to those whom are good when he is bad?

    I just don't think it makes sense for Villians who are redeeming themselves to have to go to people they are purposely distancing themselves from to earn their Epic abilities. That breaks character immersion for alot of people.

    "HA! I've spent my entire life trying to get from under your thumb, you sick twisted Capt. Mako!"
    "uH...Then why are you here?"
    "Well...I kinda need more power...so uh...mind teaching me some new stuff?"

    Really?
  23. I dunno why this came to me, but it did.

    I looked around on the forums to see if anyone else asked this question and no one did. Before I ask the question though, I'll explain how it came up.

    I was fiddling around on Mids, contemplating on what Primary I wanted to use in an experimental build that used all three, or just two, of the cones from the Lev. Brute Patrol Pool when I contemplated using SS with SR and I thought to myself.

    "Man, SS/SR w/ Arctic Breath would make a cool Redeemed Villian."

    Which brings me to my question.

    How is choosing a Patron going to effect Going Rogue, I wonder.

    This is, of course, a speculative question, since we do not have any more info on Going Rogue.

    But, say, for example, this theoretical SS/SR brute of mine spent most, if not all, of it's career fighting his way to prove that he IS redeemed, that he is a good guy. But when it came time for Epic, he...suddenly has Captain Mako as a Patron? That wouldn't make sense. Why would someone who is fighting vigorously to redeem himself choose a bloodthirsty killer like Captain Mako as a teacher/patron for more powers.

    I know you can do different arcs to get access to all the powers, but that's not the point.

    If my theoretical brute crosses over, will there be no Epic powers for him? Or will he have to choose from Red Side Epics regardless of his loyalties? Or will there be special Rogue Epic sets for each AT?

    Or, when they cross over, will each AT have to choose from the Epic Power Sets of their opposites? Like, would a Brute have to choose from Scrapper Epics? A Corruptor from Defender Epics?

    This leads into a further question. If they did go with this last choice, which sets would they have to choose from? Would they be able to choose any epics? (Doubtful?)

    Would it be like this (In terms of Access to Epic sets):
    Brutes = Scrapper
    MM = Tankers
    Corruptors = Defenders
    Dominators = Controllers
    Stalkers = Blasters????

    That would create all SORTS of unbalance.

    Controllers having access to Surge of Power, Stalkers having two God modes (like...picking Power Surge from Electric Epic and from Electric Armor).

    So, in speculation only, how do you think they are going to handle Epic Power sets with Going Rogue?
  24. [ QUOTE ]
    I like Local's build. I would switch Ice Arrow and Glue Arrow in order, and probably take Flash Arrow over Poison Gas Arrow( I was thoroughly unimpressed with Poison Gas Arrow even after having slotted it up ). The thought of having PA without Hasten in Vojins build makes me shudder.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hehehe. I like it. But then again, I enjoy not being hit...like...ever and playing this controller like a Demolitionist.
