  1. MMM,

Elec/Dark was the most fun I had playing a toon since issue 3 struggles with my Illusion/kin...

    fancy a change, something different....
  2. Ahh, *removes index finger from the delete button*

    Phew...hopefully
  3. Hey there,
    I just noticed a sentence which I can't find any knowledge of in the patch notes;
    Electric Melee:

Corrected the combat spam for Lightning Rod...

I have a bad feeling about this with my elec/dark scrapper currently at lvl 48...

    Should i be worried?
  4. That soo sounds good, I want to play one of those Katana/Elec mmmm
  5. Just a quick question, Was there a reason why you chose Kin/energy? The Knockback would be something you'd want to avoid with the kin powers, particulary Fulcrum shift Transfusion and Transference. Although I can imagine FS would work nicely with Nova.

On hte other hand Fulcrum Shift would work well with any Extreme Damage Nuke.

    Try Illusion/TA.

IMO with illusion primary a debuff secondary (i.e. rad or TA) is better than kinetics, since PA can contribute significantly to dps if resistance is debuffed, but doesn't benefit from kinetics buffs.

I have a lvl 50 Ill/kin which was possibly the most fun i have had on COH, but I now have a Ill/TA lvl 30 and a Mind/trick arrow lvl 28 and they are both awesome.
Just think Illusion WITH control options ... mmm mmm

Well done you two from another Archie's Player
  8. When you spend more time researching the forums to find that Uber tactic than you do playing the "epic"
  9. Hi there, I'm new to tanking, but feel that there are some things to mention about Mace...

Play for concept over min maxing. In my D and D student days, I never looked to stats but roleplaying aspects of the game. Remember, that's just one way to play, but a really fun one.

Pros: 1. It's rare. I repeat, RARE. "You're a tank? Superb we need one. What's that you have in your hand? A toothbrush? A mace you say, what does that do, is it a temp power?
    2. Jawbreaker at lvl 4, What a lovely looking power, fully slotted, I love making binds and knocking the huuuuge enemy into the air with my spiky ball.
3 . Great names... Clobber, Shatter, Crowd Control... Sounds like a night out in Newcastle.

Cons 1. Energy Melee does better single damage, but I dont want to carry around the glowing Pom poms.
    2. Superstrength has rage. I've heard it's fab, and I am jealous. But I see them everywhere. Standing at Atlas's Feet, talking on the forums, telling everyone they are the best. In Comics, etc. I don't want to play a character that everyone else plays...

Now let me mention I am only lowly 22 on my tank, but give them a try, be different!

    Clobberist Lvl 22 Invul/War Mace.

It really depends on what you mean by 'support'.

If you want a powerset that causes absolute mayhem in the enemy ranks (Deceive, Phantom Army, Spectral Terror) - whilst providing great support (Transfusion, Transference, Fulcrum Shift etc) go for Illusion / Kinetic.

IMHO the most fun controller powerset to play

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have itchy feet in playing controllers. Nothing is as fun as playing my main, Visionist, (ill/kin) and the ability to do almost any role...

    a) healer? Ok very good Melee AOE heal available almost constantly ( with hasten and Siphon speed)
    b) buffer? Ok need damage boosts ,i have something called Fulcrum shift that i can unleash while I am in Superior Invisibility form
    c) Tank? Phantom army can be up enough of the time in a fight so that you can tank them vs Avs. Remember, they are invulnerable!
    d) Controller? ok a pet who draws aggro from the alpha strike, a single target hold, a fear pet, a sapper power vs enemies.

    /kin question

As Visionist, Illusion/Kinetics Controller, the best power is Phantom Army, which can't be buffed by Speedboost, so I spent most of my time with my main wondering what the fuss was about. I mean, I am too busy cycling through my Phantom army, Fulcrum shift for team members, Psionic Tornado, Siphon Speed, Heal, trasnfusion(phew) to worry about people saying "SB please!".
On the otherhand, my new character is nearly lvl 31 (fire/kin) and I have found I have spent much more time Speedboosting members, this may change when my Imps come along and I Speedboost them instead . Heard it is good.

I met another problem with oil slick arrow - my fire imps seem to ignore foes affected by burning oil; well, to be more precise, they flee from the burning patch, and wait outside the battle .

Is it normal? I mean my other AoE attacks have no effect on imps, so why does oil slick arrow?

    [/ QUOTE ]

As a fellow fire/Trick Arrow specialist on Union, I have reached the stage of Oil Slick fun, slightly disappointed in its use but with lvl 36, the setting alight of the oil slick looks and feels very powerful( Now 3 slotted for damage) furthermore with the debuffing aspects of Disruption arrow, my Oil Slick is beginning to grow on me.

As far as my Imps are concerned, think of Oil Slick as an area the Imps won't tread, but possible they won't need to either.

    Good luck in your questing.

If you get a tell saying "can you heal?", turn it down, even if you have gone for a so-called "pure" empath build.

It will only result in debt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or say yes... like i did this morning when someone ask my storm defender, Can you heal?
yes of course, I responded, we stayed alive, it was fun being a charlatan.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    O o o! And dont forget defeating 3 AV's with a team of 3!

    That was a good night

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well mate, if you want to try that again , give me a buzz online, it was fun to take on those avs, especially SIEGE
  15. Well thanks to all and sundry, i made it to 50 and would recommend the alt to anyone:

    A) you can solo effectively on hardest difficulty setting post 32,

    B) teams love you,

    C) every fight is different,

    D) towards 50 mamaged to be the only healer/buffer on a 4 teams vs avs... we stuffed them ,

    E) some people say they are rubbish, " illsionist's damage doesnt last", i didnt have the heart to explain that with Sos you become the damage master,

    F) With my epic power psionic mastery, i had mezz protection , defence and a very powerful(with Fulcrum shift) AOE,

G)No travel power allocations due to inherent powers in the kinetics set(extra choices),

H)Sappers, those dreaded Malta enemies never pose problems sue to Trasference.

    Enjoy
  16. Superb Guide, using this to help my WS
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Yea i want to be a Illusonist but I have a hard time choosing my secondary power :/

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kinetics was a slow starter, compared to my fellow controllers, but now I can't imagine anything coming close to the combinaton of moves that I have now:

Open with Phantom Army (even vs Avs), by this time your phantasm will be attacking, Fulcrum shift which everyone will love you for, then hit Syphon speed(to boost recharge). By this time end should be getting low, so (with Superior Invis on) run close to a mob and hit transference .Then choose between blind and spectral wounds, to hit stragglers, or the fear (semi- hold) of Spectral terror.
back up with heal if needed or flash (AOE hold) if brave.
    Sounds fun? Welcome to kinetics!
  18. I have a preference for psionic matery due to the frequent problem of being affected by enemies post 40+.

Interesting spin on the Illusionist/Kinetics though, be careful with your slotting too
  19. If I see you on, i'll invite you mate...
  20. By the time I got a repsec in the early 40s, IR was my only travel power, allowed me to get Spectral Terror!
  21. Look out for team mates, if someone asks for help, do your best,
don't be the person to arrive on a team then go afk at the door.
If a member of a sg asks for help, so so, they'll return the favour.
  22. playing on cov, but most fun I've had is playing ILL/KIN

thanks, will come abck to it
  23. you forgot:

Clucking Bell; yikes that AV has turned his attention to me.

Crashing: A smokescreen to the possible fact that you are in the worst possible team on COH at the mo, and are pretending its the devs fault you're going

Sir, yes sir; a sarcastic response to an over enthusiastic leader who makes it his job to tell everyone what they should do,

LALT; lets all leave team, a call given when a leader forms a team of 8 then goes AFK at the door.

NIN; NO I'M NOT A response to a melee type who asks my Kinetics character are you a HEALER,

    there are others
  24. thanks guys for the great info, things are becoming clearer now
  25. [ QUOTE ]
But to be fair, Ill/Kin is one of the builds least likely to be negatively impacted by I6 ... until 43 at least (only things I ever 4 slot post I5 are some of the epics).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh no, what happens after level 43? A nerf that I don't know about?
