i16 Electric Armor

I never really cared for Elec Armor on Stalkers. Not because it's a resist set and stalkers are 'suppose to' have defense. I didn't like it because it's a resist set on a low HP AT with no regen or heal and an over-abundance of endurance for an AT that won't use it.

i16 is changing Elec Armor across the board (for Brute, Scrapper, Tanker and Stalker) so Conserve Power becomes Energize which is half the end discount of CP, a 30sec +regen and a heal rolled into one.

Think it's enough to at least put the set on even footing with Dark Armor? I'm thinking about making a MA/Elec when i16 comes around so I can play with the new animations and colors

Plugging the numbers into Arcana's spreadsheets shows that the newly-buffed Elec Armor will have performance roughly comparable to Invulnerability against a single enemy (to factor in the +def from Invincibility).

The only downside is the heal is coming very late in the set. "28 Levels of Suck" is the new ElA mantra. But hey, I'll take it, and be grateful for it.

The set's always been pretty. Now it'll be an acceptable performer, too.

All-Resists was a noble experiment, but unlike "pure" Defense sets, Resist, all on it's own, is nearly worthless (you will die, it's just a matter of time). But Resists backed up by heals/HP increases/Defense/etc? Excellent.

Careful now, the same is true for defense sets.

Assuming you have 35% defense, the odds of you getting hit each time there is a swing is 15%. After 5 swings, it is more likely that you've been hit once than not hit at all. The odds of getting hit twice in a row is just over 2%, but the odds of being hit at least twice in a succession of 5 swings is 34.99%. With no resists, those two hits could hurt. There's also the streak breaker code to take into account.

As the number of swings increase, your odds of escaping damage plummet. With only defense to save you, it is only a matter of time before you die.

Aggregate odds kill you.

If I recall, Elec armor wasn't so bad paired with Katana. The defense really gave those resists a workout.

So will this mean I'll be seeing a few BS/Elec stalkers running around the first day?

I'm seriously thinking about it. Never tried it on stalkers, because it was lolzy. But with the change and with Parry (if they keep it that is, which I imagine) it could do pretty good.



I was gonna go Nin or WP, but ElA will be a nice change of pace.

And now that I think about it, why not just get it over with and do the same for Energy Aura? That has conserve power too, right? And it'll be proliferated too?

ooo, I don't know. They would have too, I imagine. Thats if they proliferated.

The change to elec armor should be pretty nice all around for pve, but for pvp purposes stalkers will prolly still just stick to either WP or ninjitsu.

Yes, that's too high level for me to care. If the set isn't fun early on, I'm not interested in suffering with it until it gets good. I've done too much of that in the past.

yeah so i just read its for tanks and scrappers and we keep useless conserve power. yay! I mean wth dude why do i need conserve power if i am a stalker??? Dont argue this back to me please because I really dont need it.

The way I figure it, the devs are like

Posi: Okay, we need to proliferate an armor set for Tankers and/or Scrappers...so Energy Aura or Electric Armor.

Castle: But those sets have Conserve Power, heroes would possibly get 2 of the same power!

Posi: I guess we have to finally fix the sets then...*coin flip* Fix Elec Armor. Hop to it...

Castle: *sigh*

And no, it's not just for Scrappers and Tankers. The Electric Armor set is having CP replaced with Energize and *then* proliferated to Tankers/Scrappers.

As for Energy Aura, how about a power called "Overclock". Seeing as there's already a heal in Energy Drain, Overclock conceptually forces your shields and synapses to flow faster, making the user faster and more efficient for a time. Along with a smaller end discount it would have +res to psy/energy, +regen and +rech for 30sec.
