As a highly casual player (hmm, let's see, somewhere around 40 months, no 50's, and only one even in the 40's and about 4 more in the 30's) I don't think the Incarnate system is going to do much for my enjoyment either way. I've still got oodles of content to explore before I run dry.

Quote:It's more perception than anything - there are so many things to do in CoX now that the population, even on servers like Virtue, is pretty spread out. With all the teleport options available you don't see nearly as many people street-sweeping or running to missions.I've been gone for over two years. I have always been fond of the game and came back to find it nearly empty no matter where I go. Is this because of Champions Online?
Not saying that CoX numbers aren't down - I think they are compared to two years ago, but what do you expect in a 6 year old game? -
Quote:I've never seen this happen, as I always seem to end up soloing that mission. But since the storyline moves on whether she gets ganked or not, I wouldn't worry about it.Come on, people! There's no way to keep her from it so I say either fix her AI or I'm just going to start playing the arc for the mere joy of watching her die.

Quote:Ah, but that brings us to the crux of the matter...Manticore has stated that the Romulous Warshade and Romulous we fight in the ITF are two seperate people, they have no relation beyond having the same name.
Has anyone ever *seen* Manticore and Nemesis at the same time? <.< >.> -

The only time I can bring myself to do a respec is when they're about to give out a new one. Across 30-ish active characters I've probably used a half-dozen freespecs since about i7 or so, and I've never done the trial or used any of my vetspecs.

Quote:Yeah, this particular mission was two Brutes against a base full of PPs and beaucoup other Crey. No holds to stack. Luckily that Zinger proc is Psi damage, which is the only one the PPs *don't* get uber-resistance on, or we might *still* be fighting them.Depending on the PP, they may also be running "10% hit points, 90% resist" at the same time, so when you DO hit you're doing single-digit amounts of damage. I recommend something like "stacked holds" or "Well-timed knockdown" combined with rapidly delivered, overwhelming damage. One nasty trick my SG's latest team has been using is "no endurance, no Moment of Glory".
( Read the text on small vs. medium vs. large yellows; you really CAN'T eat enough smalls to make a difference. )Sounds like we're lucky it wasn't much worse.

Quote:I level pretty slow red-side - Tyrrano is, erm, I think he just dinged 32. And I agree, there's some great stuff in there. I liked Buzzsaw's dialogue, it just never made me fall on the ground. How many CoV arcs have you done? There's a bunch of awesome stuff in there.
Quote:Vernon von Grun: AH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAAAA!!!
I don't know if you've noticed but I've been trying a couple different styles of evil laugh. It's hard to pick the right one.
The whole TV arc looks like fun, too. -
Quote:I'm actually an Architect by day. Those 'office building' interiors make /me/ crazy.Of course, that kind of haphazard zoning and development wouldn't really be that surprising in Paragon City if you stop and think about how crazy office building interiors are designed.
As for zoning, well, Paragon is better than Houston (but not by much!) -
Quote:Ah yes. I've been playing for awhile now, but this is the first thing that literally made me fall outta my chair laughing. There's this really cool arc where you play security at EvilCon ...
Tub Ci: "How did they find us?"
Nemesis: "Elementary! I told them!"
...
Longbow Officer: "WHAT?"
Longbow Ballista "WHAT?"
...
The Center: "And this is why I never invite Nemesis to anything." -
If you feel like you simply can't live without getting the stuff that's in the PvP zones, but you don't want to be 'griefed' (insert exaggerated quotes here a la Chris Farley) then I suggest you get a team together and include a few people who are good at PvP. Let them protect the PvE'ers and do your thing in relative safety.

As an aside, is it possible to eat enough yellows to hit those stinkin' Paragon Protectors? Never been so glad to have the Perfect Zinger proc in Knockout Blow, 'cause that was about the only damage I was doing...

Quote:First off, that laptop isn't gonna run this game worth diddley. It's an 'integrated video' solution - it just doesn't have the graphics processing muscle this game requires. Here is the basic graphic info:
GRAPHICS CARD: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
RAM: 3.0 B
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
COMPUTER DESIGN: Laptop
This is all of the graphics information that you asked for. See if you can figure out what to do to make it stop crashing!
Look, it's been said before, but you need to take this to the Technical Issues & Bugs forum. They may have some ideas to tweak down to the minimum settings and get it playable. But honestly, your laptop doesn't meet the minimum hardware requirements. -

Quote:Turn them off? Those are both click powers, right? I wasn't aware you could 'turn off' a click power.I had my 1 and 2 keys macro'd once to do this:
/bind 1 powexec_slot 1$$powexec_auto Hasten
/bind 2 powexec_slot 2$$powexec_auto Accelerate Metabolism
with the idea it would fire them both off as I button mashed in combat. And 2-1-1 or 1-2-2 would turn them both off in Wentworths.
Although I suppose the new 'walk' power might turn them off? I should try that out... -

Quote:I can tell you that Twilight Son's arc will give you an EB if you're solo and don't have your diff tweaked up.The latter does not include Flashback or AE mode, even though they use a variation of TF mode. I am unsure if the Ouroboros mini-TFs (Lazarus, Twilight's Son, Tesseract, Silos) count as TFs or Flashbacks for these rules.
Not that it's helping me kill the rotten *%@(&^$@*... -
Quote:This.Smeg wanted to attack players and thusly went to the PvP zone. The other player came to a PvP zone and didn't want to PvP. Causing Smeg grief as being a target in a PvP zone, and putting him in the turmoil of "should I leave him alone, or kill him because all targets are fair game in a PvP zone, no matter what they're in the PvP zone for"?.
Count me as a non-PVP type. If I were the OP, I might do something silly like say, "Oh, you go ahead and get your badge. I'll wait..." then gank them as soon as they're done. But I certainly wouldn't expect anyone else to do that. -
Quote:Well, of course taking the Wiki as gospel is always dangerous but ...Drones have no more perception than any other normal enemy. What Drones do have (which they share with Rularuu Sentries) is that they ignore stealth completely.
A critter with higher perception will aggro on you from a long way off (see: snipers, with 149ft perception). Drones don't aggro from far away, but they also don't care how many different forms of stealth you have stacked together; they'll still see you once you come into range.
Quote:Originally Posted by ParagonWikiIn addition to having a much larger than normal Perception radius, Snipers and Rikti Drones are reported by some to ignore Stealth completely. Current testing with Nemesis snipers (Aug-2008), shows that Snipers do not ignore Stealth. Testing as of March 2010 indicates Rikti Drones can see through 240' stealth at ~10'.
There's a river estuary named July? Weird, I thought I knew all the big ones.
Oh, wait. You meant fourth. -
Quote:I've never done a stoner myself. How hard would it be to do a pretty close approximation with a second costume slot, now that we can change size/gender with the Science pack?Which is why when I was making a character that was a recovered DE victim, Stone Armour was my choice. If we lost the hulking stone mass, it'd break that character concept. I hope that if it does get changed to just another overlay, it retains enough of a similarity to 'old granite' that it still fits.
However I understand how it spoils the hard work that's often put into costumes.
Of course, switching costumes with power toggles means you'll want to macro in the change with the toggle, and then you end up getting your toggle out of sync with your costumes if you switch too much due to the costume switch timer, so... -
