I will admit, this is a good one.
I doubt anything will ever top Visual Sounds.
(Unless Steelclaw comes up w/something...)
Thank you for the time... -
Quote:From the DS page, it states that the damage is Fire & Toxic. Should make for interesting times...Looks pretty great. Is hellfire a new damage type?
by that I mean does anything currently in game do hellfire type damage?

Um...
There's also a 40 second or so vid as well everyone...
All I can say is...
This is gonna be a OMFG sweet Set!!!

Thanks.

I don't want to try and derail the thread into a Market discussion, but I think I can understand why there won't be a server merge...
Even with the interface changes coming in I17, there's a lot of activity happening between actual trades going on and the slots filled, but either not sold/up for sale. If Paragon doesn't feel they can't make the markets cross faction effectively enough, then that's how it's got to be.
Personally, I like the market system as is.

Staff Weapons??!!!
Oh the next year+ is gonna be a interesting one indeed...

Oh this'll be interesting as well...

Hope the don't screw bases over with what they're planning to do... -
Faultline got a good revamp.
This Video gives a good look at what Fault was back in the day...
As to a possible reason for new and shiney over revamp, think about this:
I believe either Posi or War Witch stated, maybe in something Herocon related, that the overall resources needed to do a zone revamp (like Faultline) is about the same as doing a new zone. I personally, as much as I would like to see some zones, blue side, overhauled, would rather see their efforts put into newer material than updating existing stuff.
Let's also keep in mind that the Hollows updates were mainly stuff War Witch was doing on the side (Like BABs and the Walk Power).
Now if I had my choice of which zone needed a Fault-like revamp...
Boomtown, I choose You!

Two things I'll point out...
1) Umm... No!
Adeon's remarks expresses my viewpoint just fine.
2) Suggestions forum This-a-way...
Thank you for the time... -
As long as it is just your and your wife's Characters, you should be fine.
If there are any others, I'd same make sure none are higher than rank 4 and that you and/or your wife have at least a couple rank 5s, so that someone trusted has the Rank 6.
Thank you for the time... -
-
Also keep in mind two other things...
- Single Shoulder Capes are available as part of the 21 Month Vet Reward.
- The High Collar Cape is available as part of the Magic Booster.
Both of these Items are available to Characters from the start. Otherwise, You have to be Level 20 or higher to run the Cape Mission.
Thank you for the time... -
Let's see if this helps...
I posted this listing here to try and help the discussion...

the power sets are not part of GR (comes out in july), but part of i17 that comes out in june-ish, as is the "ultra-mode" graphic boost.
The item pack for the full ver consists of
Alpha- and Omega-themed auras
Alpha and Omega themed costumed sets

The Shadowy Presence invisibility power
Your partly right...
Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning are apart of GR.
Let's see if this can help get everything back on track here...
I have left prices out cause I know what I'm buying and focusing on feature clarification here...

About my only wondering is if the Complete Collection will be available as a regular Item/Booster Pack purchase or is a specific offering to those who purchase the GR Expansion. I would figure it should be offered as a regular Pack.
Now we can let the bickering about prices and values continue...

I haven't tried IE yet, but...
Using Firefox 3.5.7
I got to the Media page just fine. Tried to click-play off of the Media Player links and got Errors. Tried to run it off of the embedded pic and the pop-up player hangs.
EDIT: Also forgot to mention I'm in the middle of the US...

Lets see...
Energy Torrent - While the overall range sucks, it warms my heart when I catch a fair size mob in it and send 'em flying.
Tornado - Seeing a whirling vortex sending critters everywhere is a another gleeful thing. Problem is it usually bugs the themed group I run with that has the Storm/Electric Def I use Tornado with...
Confuse - When I'm running a character that has it, my tactical judgement can get skewed. Case in point: Running my Illusion/Thermal 'Troller the other night in the first mission of the 10-14 Vhazilok Storyline. I was trying to confuse the Embalmed ones to blow themselves up and not really paying attention to anything else. But it's so much fun to see them blow up...

For the record:
I do not care for the idea of SG transfers.
Now as to a more personal reason.
Right now the GF and me are moving a few of our heroes off of Virtue to another server. For us, Virtue has been more a Villain server than Hero. We have a small SG for the eight or so Characters in that SG. The server we're heading to has a SG we run that is just getting a few more additions.
So we would have the same issue that I've settled now on Virtue: What to do with the old SG? In our case, I've found someone who wants to take it as is. We grabbed what we wanted out of it. Now it's just taking the time to install the person as the new Tier 6 and get our Characters off of Virtue.
Does it suck to move to a new server and start over? I would tend to think so. Is that any different than someone just starting out on a server for the first time? Not really.
Thank you for the time... -
As the Title states, I have a SG (Hero-side, of course) I wish to give away. Virute has been more for the Villains of my GF & me. So we're pulling up stakes on the one Blue side SG for the 8 or so Characters we've had over there.
Things to Realize Here:
- The SG is named "Heroes Institute of Virtue"
- The SG is very bare bones. Just a C & C room and a Workshop Room.
- There's about 50K banked right now.
- There are two nearly full Inspiration Collectors. One about 1/2 full with a mix of T3 and Holiday Presents Inspirations.
Either Reply to this thread or PM. My Global is in my sig other wise.

Also one other thing...
Since the Winter Event is now over, the Ski Chalet is closed for now. (Unless the Devs kept it open but turned off the BNY-related stuff...) So most likely you'll have to wait until '10-'11 Winter Event starts to claim the Winter Costume stuff.

Quote:Here we disagree. SD has only one power that actually does damage. That is SC. AAO is a Buff/DeBuff power. I consider it along the lines as Fiery Embrace. It has a element that affects opponent's damage output, but does not do actual damage.Shield Defense has 2 damaging powers., Shield Charge and Against all Odds.
NOTE: I will be referring to the Scrapper version of FA (and using my Katana/Fire for reference) for the purpose of my replys...
Quote:Lets review Fire Auras damage.
Blazing Aura - Effective Damage Toggle. It seems to do slightly more damage than Lightning Field and Death Shroud but not by very much.
Quote:Consume- Mainly used as a Endurance management tool. Because it does a very small amount of damage it has a 180 second recharge and requires accuracy slotting so its damage ends up being a liability and decreases a players overall damage output by not providing sufficient endurance as compared to other endurance powers like Power Sink. Slotting for damage would also be a waste.
For the record, my Katana/Fire Scrapper has Consume 3-slotted right now w/2 Performance Shifter IOs and one Multi-Strike IO, all in the upper 20s. I have effective SO strength in ACC & Recharge. The Power as is works fine as I use it.
As for Endurance Recovery goes, unmodified, Consume recovers 1/5 base Endurance values. That is 1/5 per Target. So even slightly modified, you can get it to 1/4 base Endurance Values. If you have four to five Targets in in Consume's AoE your back to full End. You look at that as a bad thing?
So what it it requires a ACC check to hit? It is not that difficult to work up enough IOs to Frankenslot it or take it to four slots for a End Mod, ACC, Dam, and Rech or lose the Dam and add a second Rech.
Also in your OP, you compared Power Sink to Consume.
To Compare:
Recharge: Consume: 3 Min., PS: 1 Min.
END Cost: Consume: .52, PS: 13 (Yes, 13 End)
AoE Range: Consume: 20 Ft., PS: 10 Ft. (Both Powers affect 10 Targets Max.)
Recovery: Consume: 20, PS 25
Secondary ability: Consume: Moderate Fire Damage to target, PS: END loss on Target w/added chance of additional END loss
Personally, I'd take Consume.
Quote:Burn- Causes mobs to disperse and run thus doing hardly any damage at all.
I know the Fear Element is a PitA, such is life. So I have to chase a Critter or two. That is a minor issue to me.
Is the Fear Effect a little strong? Maybe it is. It could be dropped a notch or two. Is the Fear duration a little too long? Personally, I'd say yes by 3-4 seconds. It shouldn't be longer than the duration of the DoT.
Quote:FE- Significantly increases damage for a short time.
Quote:ROTP- You would have to die, everytime, let me repeat that , everytime , in order to use its damage. Even if someone was willing to do this ROTP has I believe a 5 minute base recharge. So no , you cannot factor in the damage from it because you can only use it occassionally. This idea of dying to use this rez/attack also contradicts the need to strengthen Fire Aura's surviviability since it would make this strategy less useful. It is time to drop it and realize it is foolish to factor in its damage.
RotP is a T9. You honestly can't work T9s into a average value listing, save for some of the Melee T9s. I may have implied including it in the overall damage, that was not my intent. I felt RotP had to be included because you felt it was not needed and failed against your lousy premise:
Quote:The concept of Fire Aura is less damage mitigation for greater damage but the damage isnt there except for Firey Embrace.
Quote:So the only powers we have that are good on damage are Blazing Aura which is not unique and other powerset have a damage toggle similar and FE which is unique.
Currently Shield Charges 2 damage powers out damage all damage powers in Fire Aura unless you have a immobilize or Controller with you. This is a balance issue.
Where the non-T9 Powers are concerned, the overall damage is fine, as is the Resistance Protection given by the Two Armors, Temp. Protection, Healing Flames, and Burn.
Now I will admit my Katana/Fire runs with a Plamt/Emp Troller a lot. But I can solo just as well with this same Character just as well. I have no quams about taking Alpha Strikes and the like.
I feel Fiery Aura is Fine as is. Your desire to change it otherwise is pure hogwash.
Thank you for the time... -
So let me get this straight...
Your complaining Fiery Aura needs to be retooled because it's overall damage in 5 Offensive Powers compared to Shield Defense's 1 Offensive Power, right? I think Your totally wrong.
If you really take a look at FA, you would notice that the Powers build upon one another. Blazing Aura starts things off followed by popping Burn and then Consume. Heck, in the higher levels I can see chaining Fiery Embrace, Burn, Consume as a solid work.
You also said you can't take RotP into consideration. You have to because it is a tactically important power. Yes, you have to get gacked to use it. Oh Boo Hoo, you get some debt. Sheesh. If I die so I can let loose a nuke-style PBAoE damage and Rez at the same time, I'd do it. Considering you could then pop Healing Flames, and then the FE/Burn/Consume after that.
Also your trying to compare a mainly Resistive Set (FA) to a mainly Defensive, with some Resistive, Set (SD). That in of itself is a hard thing to look at. FA mixes some offensive Damage and Damage Resistance for it's mitigation. SD focuses on Defense through the shield and a "strength in numbers" approach for mitigation.
Now I have a couple of FA Scrappers (Katana/Fire & Electric/Fire) and a Fire/Ice Tank. Personally, I don't find FA lacking in any respect. Granted the END in the early levels is a PitA, but that's true of any "Armor" Set. FA, along with Dark Armor, are good Sets, they just do things differently from the more DEF-minded sets.
Thank you for the time... -
It's different, that's for sure...
It works though. Good Job.
