It's a little known fact that players have an inherent mag 1 protection.
Though, to be clear, inherent protection is a bit misleading, since it doesn't show in the real numbers
It's just that players have to fall below -1 protection in PvE before they get mezzed. (acro +2 prot -3 hold = -1, not held )
Same with enemies too, if you've ever looked a an npc, like a boss, with a Power Analyzer you'd know that they don't show any inherent protection even though it's widely known Bosses have Mag 3(because bosses need to fall below -3 to get mezzed).
This is also why Kheldians only need 4 controllers to resist mag 3 holds(each troller gives +0.5 prot)
Edit: Made a quick mission in AE to to show an example:
As you can see, I'm not held by a Mag 3,
but by a Mag 4 I am, since it went below -1. -

However, from the post he made above yours, it sounds like he's having no trouble downloading the client, but having trouble with cohupdater itself.

We eventually left but who knows..that area might still be there with the timer still counting up until the server resets O.o -
So, got a small group together to fight the Winter Lord in Cap Au Diable.
We defeated it, and the Lord Winter present spawned..but with no timer..
I thought, meh, maybe it skipped it for some reason.
With the small group we had no chance of defeating Lord winter, so we decided we would defeat the mobs around it instead.
Then we noticed something interesting..
The timer was counting upward! (click the thumbnails)
If we had the right power combos, we mightve been able to do a 4 person LW :-S

Example
If you have mag 5 hold protection and 50% hold resistance, this means that you are protected from any combonation of holds that total 5 and below.
Also, any holds that do hit have the duration reduced by 50%
Now in the case of knockback...say you have 5 KB protection and 50% KB resistance..
This means you are protected from KB Mag 5 and below, however in THIS case, 50% resistance reduces the MAGNITUDE of the KB(a mag 5 KB power would be 2.5 on you) as knockback doesn't have a duration
This is what is meant by Knockbacks duration and magnitude being tied together -

You can try this to update back to 9.0c, it's a direct download of the setup instead of a web update(meant for offline computers but should work for this purpose)

Though I must admit the fact that you're having trouble copying to the clipboard concerns me more than anything...but I wouldn't know anything about fixing that

Most of my solo characters(I have 4 villains, 5 heroes) took about 3 months tops.
2 notes though:
1. This was all at +0/x1(I like to take it easy on my soloers) so any increase in that area would make it that much faster
2. I also did some of my favorite story arcs along the way, so doing newspaper missions 100%, it'd probably be faster without all the defeat alls/hunts/traveling.
If you do newspapers 100% and increase your difficulty along the way, I doubt it would take even 2 months
(If you're familiar with the game's enemy group strengths/weaknesses, maybe even 1 month) -

Check the mode in the top right corner, it sounds like you have PvP mode enabled(it DOES give that ammount of psi defense in PvP)

Just remember that you have to add up ALL damage buffs before you do this or it will be incorrect at the end
ie..if you tried to do (55.61 x 1.74 x 1.95) x 0.6
Also, the Kheldian damage cap is 400%, so at max you would have 4.8 damage mod -

Weird, at a basic level, the highest damage mod in the game only does about 6.7% better than the blaster level.

Side note about it only being 6.7% better, keep in mind that the nova forms also have a constant 45% damage buff on top of that -
I'll answer since I think I know what you're going for:
Short Version:
Game method: AT damage mod x power damage scale = base damage
or
Scale method: (55.6102 x power damage scale) x AT damage scale = base damage
Long Version:
Here's how it works: I'll use Charged Bolts and Lightning Bolt as an example
Game Method
The game relys on 2 things to calculate damage, AT damage mod and power damage scale(for base damage that is)
At level 50, the Ranged Damage Mod for Blaster's is 62.562
and Defender's is 36.147
Charged Bolts is a scale 1.0 damage scale
Lightning Bolt is a 1.64 damage scale
To calculate the damage you simply multiply the AT mod by the scale,
Obviously since Charged Bolts is scale 1, the damage is the same as the mod
for Lightning Bolt
1.64 x 62.562 = ~102.6
1.64 x 36.147 = ~59.28
Thats how the game does it.
Scale Method
I you want to use the damage scale chart on paragonwiki you need 2 bits of information: the scale damage of a power or the damage of a power and the damage scale of the AT(as presented by the PW chart)
You also need to memorize this one thing: a scale 1 attack at 1.0 damage mod does 55.6102(rounded to 55.61 for the following) damage at 50
Charged bolts is a 1.0 scale attack therefore at level 50 it does 55.61 damage
but then the damage scales come in:
Blaster = 55.61 x 1.125 = ~62.562
Defender = 55.61 x 0.65 = ~36.147
Lightning Bolt is a 1.64 scale attack therefore at 50 it does ~91.2(55.61 x 1.64) damage
Blaster = 91.2 x 1.125 = 102.6
Defender = 91.2 x 0.65 = 59.28
Thats about it,
Melee is the same but with the Melee Damage table obviously
Actually, this is the same way you do ANYTHING in the game not just damage.
Of course after finding this, then you need to account for enhancements and buffs if you want to find the total damage, this is just to find the base.
If you don't know how THAT works I can explain that too if you like.

Was wondering if any information has been released as to how epics/patrions will work with side switching.
IE, if a brute switches sides will he get access to tank epics, and vice versa.
Obviously if for example a brute switches sides to Paragon City and becomes a complete hero, it'd be impossible to do the patron arcs to unlock them.
Will they get access to epic powers that tanks have or simply be unable to choose ancillery powers at all?
Obviously if nothing has been stated yet none of you guys can answer this, just sort of wondered about how that will be handled.

The "upload" feature section isn't working, you have to put the image tags and link in the text area.
You're doing it right, you just need to type in the [img] and [/img] to both ends of your link.
Though that particular one is a bit big, might want to thumbnail it.
For that, use a url tag for the picture and an img tag with th_ before the picture in the url
Like so:
The way to do that is like this(replace braces with brackets, i just used them for the example so it would show up)
