Quote:It also thinks this is okay, which makes me cringe whenever I see it.Ahem. The Dictionary says it's okay. But that's all right, I'm not a big fan of "alright" either.

Just fyi though, if it's anything like most buffs, if you activate it then go through a loading screen before using it again, it would probably stack. Though, like Claws said, it's generally not necessary, unless you really need the extra end recovery or mez protection.

Quote:Got your PM, I took a look.Anyone know the name of the yell from Psychic Shockwave? I'm hoping it has a secondary sound that is separate, and that the yell isn't the same as the cimeroran one. Hopefully I'll find out soon
.
(BTW this thread is amazing. Made my Demon MM 20x more fun to play lol. And Hasten&Tough silenced? Godsend)
The flies thing is
sound\Ogg\Enemies\flies_loop.ogg
I tried for over an hour to find the sound for psychic shockwave and failed, in fact I managed to get just about every single psionic sound except that.
I made a list of all the sounds in the game as of today, if you wanna try to find it yourself. I've given up

Good luck, sorry about not being able to find PSW -
That reminds me, I saw this fan art a couple years back...

Quote:No, he's under 5th column, it's only showing solders of arachnos because CoD doesn't have enemy groups in the dropdown and it's just defaulting to the first in the list.Okay. (So Reichsman is listed in the "Soldiers of Arachnos" category? No wonder I couldn't find him in the City of Data...)
10joy
The same thing happens for many things that aren't in the dropdowns, like manually setting class and level in the url.
Example:
A level 54 Archvillain using brawl:
http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/power...villain&lvl=54
Even though the info is correct, the dropdowns show Corruptor Level 1 -

Peacebringers are also good with defenses after the i21 changes.
Now that Light Form is perma-able they can get perma-85% resistance to all but psi without the need for a target and MEZ PROTECTION!, a fairly fast recharge self-heal in Restore Essence, plus the ability to shift into dwarf form for a second self heal if needed and a Dull Pain clone in Essence Boost. Which are good for long single target fights such as soloing AVs where maxing eclipse and using stygian circle aren't as viable.
With these all that I'd say Peacebringerss are at least comparable to perma-eclipse Warshades, particularly being able to get mez protection, though Warshades don't have the psi-hole
Mez protection and no target reliance are my main reasons for liking PBs more than WSs, though that's much a matter of opinion. -
Quote:Add another vote for Dark Armor.Quote:I think Dark and Electric are tied. Electric has the better smash/lethal/energy resistances but has a toxic hole. Dark has higher toxic and psionic resistances. If you are willing to use power surge, while its up Electric will be capped (scrapper or tanker/brute) to smash/lethal/fire/cold/energy/negative and have substantial toxic resistances.
Basically, Dark is the more well-rounded resist set, while Electric wins overall in the smash/lethal/energy/psionic race. Dark has the stronger heal, Electric has the big resist boosting tier 9.
While Dark Armor doesn't have a 'god-mode' Tier 9, being able to resurrect, stun everything around you except Arch-Villains/Monsters (Soul Transfer is a mag 30 stun, yes, that's right, magnitude THIRTY) for around 12 seconds base at level 50, AND become untouchable for 15 seconds to anything that isn't stunned, is pretty darned handy.
Oh, and did I mention it only has a 300 base second recharge compared to Power Surge's 1000? -
Quote:Just fyi, from the I22 beta patch notes:
Quote:Ice Control
Jack Frost's power choice AI has been improved. He should now use all of his powers as they come off recharge, with much less idle time. -
Quote:I think you missed the buffs PBs got in I21- Peacebringers (Do I even really need to say it? Knockback should've been removed from them at the same time it was removed from most melee powers with it. Also I'd add the same mag 4 mez protection the spiders get into the first secondary power, the auto one. Remove the mez protection from lightform to compensate. Also give Quantum Flight a +flight cap effect like afterburner so you can actually use the other three quarters of the flight speed it gives you in exchange for the horrible endurance cost. Also remove the -tohit from Group Energy Flight to make it comparable to Group Fly, which recently received that exact change. And increase Pulsar's stun to mag 3 to match the warshade stun power.)
Light form is now perma-able, giving PBs good mez protection, They got Quantum Acceleration, to match afterburner, and Group Energy Flight has it's -to-hit removed at the same time Group Fly did.
Quote:Combat Flight now correctly provides defense to all types of attacks.
Luminous Blast - Build Up has been renamed "Inner Light". It now grants a large damage and ToHit bonus for 10 seconds, and then a moderate damage and ToHit bonus for 20 seconds thereafter, for a total of 30 seconds of boosted damage.
Luminous Blast - Photon Seekers cooldown has been reduced from 300 seconds to 180 seconds.
Luminous Aura - Quantum Acceleration
Added a new power available at level 24: Quantum Acceleration.
Quantum Acceleration is similar to Afterburner.
This allows Peacebringers to select this power if they wish.
This power now provides a moderate amount of defense, improved flight control, and -fly protection, but has a 30 second cooldown once toggled off. This power can now accept Defense enhancements, IOs and Defense set IOs.
This power will not allow the user to fly unless the user has a flight power active.
This power's long help now clarifies that this power's flight protection is only granted while Combat Flight, Energy Flight, Quantum Flight or Group Energy Flight is active.
Luminous Aura - Light Form has been redesigned. Its cooldown has been lowered from 1000 seconds to 300 seconds, but its duration has been reduced to 90 seconds to match that of Eclipse. The recovery bonus from the power and the status protection from the power have been moderately reduced to compensate for the drastic increase in uptime now possible. Additionally, Light Form now persists when activating White Dwarf or Bright Nova.
Luminous Aura - White Dwarf now protects the player from status effects as soon as its animation begins, preventing the power from being interrupted.
Solar Flare and White Dwarf Flare are now generated by the Peacebringer's hands instead of their feet, and can now be used while in midair. -
Nice video, I love these developer diary type things for video games.
One thing though...
At around 0:56... since when does Statesman have the Void Judgement?
I imagine it was probably one of the PS team playing the character and happened to have that one slotted, but why was it in the video? I can't imagine that's canon. -
Quote:Actually, according to his latest post(second paragraph), it's still a problem for toggles. He found a workaround by using a location based AoE toggle intead of enemy based.Thread necro's not nice, but I feel the need to bring this up: I was wrong, the programming staff have clearly overcome this problem in the time since I learned what I learned, and hoorah, this idea is far more feasible than I thought.

About the only way this would work for Detention field would be if they made it an extremely small AoE(since it's meant to be single target) -
Hah, first thread that I've actually laughed at in quite a while!
Quote:The full version is actually quite longer. I can't find a good quality version but here's a video of itI forgot.. it reminds me of this:
All to open a door.
/ending isn't there, he set off a nuke... but dang if I can find it. -
Quote:The problem is inherent to the way toggles and intangibility works.Ahh ok. I really do not buy the 'technical grounds' excuse though. If that were the case, we would never get anything new. And it cant be THAT tricky..TK works almost the same as I see a toggle DF working..just applying a phase to a single target rather than an aoe hold.
Toggles refresh every half second or so, reapplying the effect, with a slightly longer duration.
This works great for things like telekinesis, but when trying to do that with intangibility, you end up with a toggle that only works half the time.
IE:
1. Toggle Intangible power
2. 0.5 seconds later the toggle tries to reapply the effect but fails because the target is intangible.
The 'technical problem' is applying intangibility to a target that is intangible.
...or at least, this is how it was explained by a red name a long time ago.(Not sure who)
Hard to say if it would still be an issue. -
Theres a setting in the email options that allows you to hide all unclaimable account items, enable that and you can use claim all again.
-
Just fyi, you can click it's health bar in the event window to target it. Enemies that show the health bar in the event window all allow click-targetting(Like Trial AVs).

Assuming you gathered a league of 24 perma-doms:
Standard Single target hold- 24 x mag 6 = 144
Standard AoE hold = another 144
Assuming they all had secondarys with a hold, say seismic smash = another 144
total: 432, not even halfway to 1000
Given the 10,000% mez resistance you won't have stacking ability either.
Suffice to say, you won't be holding trial AVs -
For anyone interested, just search for "city of heroes staff fighting.flv" on Google, shouldn't be too hard to find.
Anyhow, I imagine they'll be an official release of it sooner or later. For now they seem to be denying it even exists(I blame marketing), which is sad considering how awesome it looks even for an alpha version(I say alpha because it didn't seem to have any powerfx yet, according to the video.)
