Quote:"Personal attack power: Flaming whip"OMG!
These alone makes me buy this expansion. This pushed me over..
SOLD!( I would request customization to at least make it a flaming chain whip, though. Would so totally fit one of my characters I'll have to reroll for the set anyway. )

And "fun" in a totally different kind of annoying way, the "Hunt X Council" that's followed up by "Hunt Y Council" and then "Hunt Z Council". Bloody hell, just tell me how many I have to hunt up front and be done with it.

Yeah, something's screwed up. You should be able to make both heroes and villains no matter what edition you buy these days.

Server populations are still doing just fine, thanks. Just more reason for people to be inside missions rather than street sweeping these days. As for the dots on the server list, that's server load, not population.

Quote:Pretty much the way it is.Yep, I seem to remember a Foxtrot cartoon years ago when WoW raised the cap from 60 to 70 with Jason basically saying that the major change was instead of wishing that he could be level 70 he would spend his time wishing that he could be level 80 instead
.
When a game raises the level cap, people hit it within a couple weeks and start complaining about being bored again, anyway. The uberguilds power through the content so fast that the level cap raise was pretty much pointless. All it does is create a race to be able to claim you were the first to the new cap.

Quote:I didn't say "not seeking" was the same status as "do not accept invites". I had mentioned being on "not seeking" with a status comment making it clear that you didn't want to team, though...Which is why they would be much better off placing themselves on hide. And for the record, "Not seeking" is not nearly the same status as "Do not accept invites". The majority of players I recruit for teams are from tells sent to those people who are "not seeking", which is the default setting for players that don't use or know about the team search flags. Any player that considers it rude to receive a tell when their team search is set to the default of "not seeking" is being overly sensitive.
Quote:Sounds like someone is getting all worked up here...
Quote:Here we go... This kind of attitude simply reinforces my opinion that some people go out of their way looking for something to be offended about so they can get all self-righteous over the perceived slight.
"People like that" is not an insult. It is not derogatory.
Quote:It was simply referring to other players that don't want to be bothered while solo or performing some other type of activity. I have been known to be one of those "people like that" myself. Which is why I use the hide function when I don't want to be bothered. -
Quote:And, yet, people still send those on not accepting invites and/or who have "not looking for a team" status messages all the time.Sure, but something like that is so obvious it's not even worth mentioning, in my opinion.
Quote:People like that would be much better off by placing themselves on hide, rather than getting themselves all worked up over receiving a tell in the first place.
And "people like that"? People who want to be shown the simple common courtesy of others respecting their expressed wish to be left alone? How horrible for them. -

Raising the level cap won't do a thing to fix this. If you're bored with the game at 50, you'll be bored with it at 60. Level cap raises aren't even a band-aid fix.

No, we won't. The devs have said time and time again that this will not happen. A level cap raise doesn't solve any problems that can't be solved by simply adding more content for the existing levels.

Quote:Soloing actually "cuts it" very well in this game for most characters. Far better than in most MMOs.Whats the best method for lvling as i have noticed that soloing just isnt cutting it. :-( Teams are a rarity. And im looking for a SG that has patience to teach a newcomer.
Still, best way to level is just to run missions. Either solo or advertise in broadcast for a group. Don't be in too much of a hurry to get to 50. The game's really more about the journey than the destination.

Quote:All this is moot, though, because he's showing the badge in his badge window and can claim it on some of his characters, which means he has been awarded the 12 month vet reward...Not necessarily. On my account right now I have 70 months of Veteran Rewards Time and nobody is going to be seeing the 69 month award for around half a year.. That's because I buy a year at a time. The category Veteran Rewards Time counts all the time you have played, plus the time you've paid for but not yet played.
The category that counts is further down the page where it lists the award level and when it was (or will be) awarded. If the date shown for your 12 month award is in the past then yes, you have reached it. If it's not, then you haven't earned the award yet and you got it through the bug I mentioned. -

I felt the same way when an ex step-dad talked me into trying out Everquest back on 2000. I've been playing MMOs ever since. I've had good times, made some good friends, even met a ( now ex-) girlfriend through MMOs. No matter what the /b/ rejects spout, MMOs are just as valid a social gathering as any other.

FYI, this is standard practice for MMOs ( The pay to play ones, at least ).

Most populated also means most likely to be laggy during "rushes".

Quote:I don't quite follow what your problem is here...When I level up in city of villians it lets you choose your next weapon attack or whatever well I choose it and it wont let me get the ability an use it whats wrong here ?
I have the trail verson I dont know if that has anything to do with it
Every other level ( 2, 4, 6, etc ) you get a new power. The odd levels, you get slots for powers ( 2 per odd level ) to put enhancements into ( Which are items that improve certain aspects of the powers ). ( The pattern changes, but not until well after the trial level cap )
When you're at a new power level and you choose a new power, the hotbutton for it will automatically go into your power tray. ( Unless it's an auto power, which is always on and, thus, doesn't have a hotbutton )
No idea if any of that covered what you were looking for... -
Ah... Eh, well, doesn't seem to be people making it annoying. Not yet, at least. My other "WTF?" is bringing back user rating (karma).
