Don't expect to do any buffing on a Warshade. As for debuffing, the slow secondary effects are nice but we don't put out any -regen and -tohit or anything like that unless you consider PVP procs and Interface powers.
Also, Warshades are much better suited for melee play. If you want to play at range, you'd be better off making a Peacebringer. PB's also have a single target heal which would fit in with your "buffing" idea.
I think that you seem to not really have an understanding about how the Warshade Archetype works. We are good for controls, AOE damage, and can be used effectively for single target damage. We can also tank very well on many different specs- Warshades can achieve some of the highest survivability levels in the game.
There are many diverse build choices and play styles available to Warshades so I suggest you do some reading up and decide on your own what you'd like to play.

Ah, thank you so much Diellan! Having the new alpha powers will be very convenient.

Quote:Like I just said: He was planning on using the names. He already had most of them on different servers. He just didn't end up playing on exalted. I fail to see the difference between selling a name you no longer use for Infamy, or respecing a character who you no longer play out of some enhancements and selling them for infamy... But I don't see anyone complaining about the market and calling THAT selfish. It's really a big stretch to say he is doing a 'courtesy to the community' by selling the names. He is trying to profit by having those names.
It's not a courtesy to hold onto names you don't intend on using, it's a self serving looking out for yourself kind of selfishness. Which is fine, but don't polish a turd by calling it a favour for thecommunity to do so. -
Quote:Well the idea is that you use purples to build your recharge/proc your attack chain, and you have plenty of recharge and a glad 3% to save slots so you do not need to sacrifice damage output or -res proc slotting, while benefiting tremendously from the extra survivability of the softcap to most attacks in the game.Since I haven't played a human-only build, what exactly is the allure of having S/L defense capped anyway? With greater DPS and -Res procs I might kill the energy critter in front of me that's debuffing my defenses and still have time to go save a capped S/L PB nearby before he dies.

By the way, Gob, I think that my computer may be conspiring against me this evening. When I returned to this thread, your initial posts and Organica's second post were not displaying for me.
I now understand why you felt like chopped liver- I'm sure that your solution was just as viable as reloading the configuration from another character as Roderick suggested.
I hereby spread my gratitude out equally amongst all responders! -
I feel rude not mentioning this in my first post, but my characters got so many duplicating gifts. So that was pretty sweet.

I guess this thread has been successfully resurrected thanks to Speedy so I should chime in...
My Warshades name (and subsequently my global name) is Septipheran. It means nothing at all. I just made it up when I created him, thought it sounded neat, and then it was his name. I even mentally changed the pronunciation a few times.
It's probably a horrible name, but I mean, whatever. The way I look at it is that my Warshade is a capable enough character that his name doesn't matter. I use that same justification for his costumes. Did I mention how terrible I am at making costumes and naming characters?
My Peacebringer is Luminarious. Why, you ask? Well because I had no better source of inspiration than reading through his powerset list, and all that other stuff, trying to find something to pull a name from. Once again, I suck at this.
I am very fond of my Khelds though. -
Quote:My 1st time playing, I accidentally deleted the bottom half of the chat box. Only I didn't realize it until I made a 2nd toon weeks later.
By that time, I'd gotten so used to having just the one pane, that to this day, the 1st thing I do when I make a new toon is delete the bottom pane and right click the main tab to add all the 'now' missing channels.
I've taken to creating a tab with nothing but team/tell chat, so I can flip over to not miss anything in the heat of battle with XP flowing.
Needless to say, I knew exactly the issue you spoke of, glad it's been resolved for you.
Buaha, this was a ditzy mistake I had yet to make since I began playing the game (and there have been many others, believe me.)Needless to say I was taken aback- I didn't even know the bottom half could be deleted.

Quote:As an alternate method, if you have a different character with the same chat setup, log on to that character and type /chatsave then log back onto the broken character and type /chatload
Bah, you are great. Thank you for your help- One day I will learn to use /binds that don't involve executing powers or combining inspirations. -
My friend (as you can see) suggested that I deleted the tab which is totally viable... but that tab was kind of always there, and did not function like other "tabs" which I have added, ie: I don't want another "tab" on the top. I want the "bottom half" back, which seems to be the purpose of the "add tab" function.)
Sorry about the white block. I made a ghetto screenshot. -

I may or may not have hit some wrong buttons. I was pretty preoccupied what with the holiday and all... But the point is that the bottom half of my chat UI is just.. Gone. I accept full responsibility for this predicament.
I can't view my sent or received tells. I can't view team or league chat. All I can see is what I have equipped in my many "top" tabs, like chat channels, local, broadcast, etc. My chat UI is nothing but the "top half" of my chat UI.
I hit "reset windows" in the options menu. All that did was close my extra trays, minimize chat, and when I drug it back to my preferred size.. It was still broken. Surprise. Way to reset chat, COH. Anyways.. Rabble rabble, someone help me. -
Quote:Well Anni isn't selling anything for real money. He asked me to get these names for him because he wanted to try out the server, and didn't end up playing there. I see nothing wrong with him exchanging something he acquired for influence. There's not. Just these type of threads always create a flame war. Should see WoW when someone gives up a name but sells it for real money on E-bay. Omgawd. It's ridunkulus.
To edit and clarify: These weren't names he stole from other people to grief them. Most of them were names he already had on different servers, he just wanted to move his characters over to Exalted to try it out and wanted the names reserved.
If anything, he's doing a courtesy to the community by making them available. He definitely doesn't need the influence but it is convenient for new alts. He could have sat on some (in my opinion) very good names for all eternity.
I agree with you that RMT for in game items is totally silly and stupid, but I can assure you that he didn't have any more bad intentions by starting this thread than anyone else who sells sought after in game items on the market board. He didn't even post an asking price for anything. -
Quote:It occurs to me in reading this thread, that one of the major worries we all had in CoX going F2P was all the free players trolling us...while some of that has indeed happened (thank you Help channel!), it's threads like this that give us all a heartwarming reminder that paying customers can be trolls too.
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside
K, the OP has been playing this game for a long time. He isn't trolling anyone- He's a real life friend of mine, and I actually reserved all of these names for him. I don't think selling names in a video game is any different than selling anything else (ie: enhancements, recipes) for INFLUENCE. You are trading fictitious items for fictitious money. How is there anything wrong with this thread? -
There are so many posts selling the Gladiator's Armor unique on the market board, you would think it was one of the most common enhancements in the game.

I already sent out Merry Christmas messages in Vigilance last night and earlier this afternoon, but for those who missed it: Merry Christmas/happy holidays/etc!
-
My most "geeky" Christmas gift probably came from a COH pal, Stone Daemon. He had Layla make me a COH hat with a Warshade logo on it.

Yup, Provoke is the best part of the Presence pool and while it is not a great taunt, it is such a useful power for so many characters who don't have access to a taunt that it makes the pool choice worth it by itself.
-
As a heads up, I'm still making you guys kill Statesman with me before he dies officially. You have one week!
-
Ok Alien. I am literally about to read through the whole guide, click every link, open every build, and cover everything in sequential order.
I will PM you my feedback if I have any more to give.

Quote:I can't wait until you finish your guide so that you can start posting more personal accomplishments. Thanks, man... I appreciate everyone helping me to make the most accurate guide possible. I really mean to try and get it done either today or tomorrow, but I have some errands I have to run this morning first...
Thanks again!
"Alien"It would be nice to have another human form Warshade to engage in friendly one upsmanship with... Competing with AIB and his Tri Form nonsense is getting stale.
