  1. I didn't see many of our regulars online tonight, basically it was just Stone and Exercitus. Granted, I didn't actively try to recruit either because someone decided to form an Underground trial in Vigilance at our normal starting time.

I know stuff like this happens and people are definitely entitled to run other trials, but personally I think it's just in bad taste to form a trial at the exact time when a weekly trial event is run... Especially if you're active on the forums and within the Protector community, which this person was. On such a small server, it's hard enough to put together a league for this kind of stuff as it is.

What about rare items like some level 53 Hami's? There are a couple that there could very well only be a few of in circulation, maybe one, maybe none. Does that mean that as soon as someone decides to respec out of one that they should be obligated to give it away for free?
  3. I paid 1.25 billion on the market tonight, buy it now price for a Gladiator's Javelin Toxic Damage proc, because I wanted it now and it took me like a day and a half to make the money anyways. Inf is abundant and I don't think enhancement converters are going to change that.

I think what converts will do is normalize the price of purples- I see them settling in somewhere between the prices of the "good" sets and the "bad" sets, obviously with the "good" sets still being a bit higher. I also see the "big three" PVP IO's dropping down to be in line with the rest of their respective sets, again slightly higher.

This is obviously all speculation, but either way I'm not worried about having to hoard inf.

  5. My predictions.

The Hybrid slot is going to be vehicular travel powers.

The Mind slot is going to be a choice of massive single target debuffs.

The Vitae slot is going to let you boot anyone who does not have at least the same tier of Vitae as you offline in overcrowded zones. It is also going to grant "boot offline" protection from anyone using Vitae at your tier or below. (The duration of which the people kicked are unable to log back in will depend on the tier of Vitae used on them.)

The Omega slot is going to be fingers.

I usually don't have many bad PuG stories, but this one was so special I though I should share. What do you think about using Ion on civilians? Was he farming them? He chose the right judgement then. Though maybe he could have gotten more if he had using Pryonic or Vorpal or Void, as the chain may have ended prematurely.

I propose that any player that kills 30 or more civilians should get a badge.

"Griefer" - You are the best at griefing. You griefed an entire incarnate trial into failure.

"Griefer" would give an accolade that stops the use of the team-up teleporter.

Either that, or make a very special badge called "Idiot", displayed in size 70 font, that cannot be unequipped. Though I guess badgers would still try and get it, so that may actually be a horrible idea.
    Ion Judgement Critical!

And I explained why I stood by that. I'm sorry that we don't have the same standards of what is and isn't helpful to the community. Once again, I think that when a player makes sought after in game items available to other players, he or she is helping out the community, whether they are charged or not. Notice that when people make trades on this forum, they say "thanks!" Just because they're expressing appreciation doesn't mean that they got their stuff for free. They paid for it, and still expressed appreciation to the seller anyways, for making the item they wanted available and being willing to trade it to them.
  8. I think buy it now price for GA on the market board is still 2.5 billion but I expect them to drop soon. You'll see them going for 2 billion flat on the auction house because that's the maximum bid you can leave in game. They're mostly sold on the forums.

As for the panacea proc, I would say that is selling for 2 billion everywhere. There were several for sale on the market last week and I paid a flat 2 billion and got one instantly at level 50 for my Warshade, as there were several more for sale I can't imagine people on the forums asking much more than that (unless at a lower level.)
  9. Be nice to Stone if you want my help. That's my buddy.
  10. My Warshade can solo any enemy group he's tried on 54x8 with bosses, but the sticklers (Malta, Arachnos) get difficult when I'm just trying to finish a mission, easy mode for him is 0x8 with bosses turned on.

Leveling up new characters is a different story. I have a Dark/Dark defender in the 30's who I'm working on and he's best suited for 0x3 with no bosses. When I leveled up my Fire/Mental Blaster, it was +1x2 with bosses most of the time. Basically my difficulty changes based on the character I'm playing, I would never say that I absolutely do or don't leave bosses on or off at all times.

Granted if I'm just stealthing some tips for the quick merit, everyone turns it down to -1x0 no bosses, no questions asked.

    -Friend sold them to you
    -You just got lucky

I still think your last post is to try and save your own behind from any actions taken from Mods, GM and maybe even Devs.

Obviously the fact that I managed to get the names was luck. People were bum rushing exalted, I fired up my COH as soon as the server went live to help Anni out since he was at work. He was texting me what names he wanted.

Where did anyone say I sold him the names? I gave them to him as soon as he got home. I don't charge my friends for favors.

Nothing wrong with someone not wanting to give away builds or saying 'my build is secret' or stuff like that. But some people do like making up builds just for fun, so 'we never give builds' is not a rule in any AT forum. May be yours and you're certainly entitled to it.

Sorry for the name calling btw, that was unnecessary.

It's ok. The thing is that generally only a hand full of people on the Kheld board devote the time to helping people out with their builds on a (somewhat) daily basis, myself being one of them, and we all generally view it the same way: We're more than willing to help people out if they're willing to put the effort into helping themselves out.

I see nothing wrong with what I said. People put effort into their builds, different things work for different people, and lots of players are willing to help with them, myself included. I think I've helped more people with their Kheldian builds than most people on this forum, so I definitely don't have a problem with helping people out.

When someone posts saying, "hey here's my build, here's what i want to do, here's what I can spend," I am almost always one of the first people to give feedback.

When someone says "give me a build," I become annoyed. There are tons of builds posted in this section, many of which would fit the OP's needs. To me, it's bad enough to not be willing to make your own build, and much worse to not even be willing to browse the forums and decide which build you'd most like to steal on your own accord.
  14. Yeah, the "pace" issue is totally gone as you level up more and he obviously didn't play long enough to see his attack chains/etc fleshing out.
  15. I thought the review was fair enough also. I particularly agree with his comments about the camera and maze-like maps/poor directives, those are some of my biggest pet peeves with COH.
  16. The first goal for any Warshade that plans to IO out their build should be getting perma Eclipse. Even with Spiritual Core paragon, yours is missing by 12 seconds. It's best to have more overlap than that, as a reference point.

You say you don't want to spend a lot of cash, and yet you included two of the most expensive enhancements in the game with the Gladiator's Armor 3% defense and the Panacea proc.

You seem to be worrying more about some (quite frankly) directionless build goals than slotting your powers properly.

You say you want strong single target output? You might start by getting yourself a single target attack chain. That means you need to slot Essence Drain primarily as an attack. You also might want to rethink your Gravity Well slotting. The 2 Basilisk's Gaze are giving you e/n defense that isn't helping you reach 32.5 or 45% e/n defense. (You instead decided to focus on f/c/a for some reason, which I'll get to.)

Your Dark Extraction is gimpy as heck. It's sort of a "must 6 slot" power. 4 Expedient Reinforcements and 2 SA's are a great way to slot it, but 6 Expeidents work for some builds.

The best way to slot Eclipse is with 2 Nucleolus Exposures and 2 common Recharge IO's. There has been a lot of discussion on the board about this so feel free to look around on your own for the explanation. Why the heck are you trying to build fire and aoe defense w/ that Aegis slotting when you haven't even reached your (presumed) goal for e/n defense?

Your build goals are just giving me a headache. I see you 6 slotted Gravitic Emanation for AOE defense when your Eclipse isn't even perma.

I'm getting the idea that you have never actually played a Warshade, so you have no idea how to build a Warshade. If this assumption is correct I suggest starting off by playing The MFing Warshade to level 50. At that point, if you're still enjoying your Shade and you're still considering playing a Human Form Warshade, check out The "Complete" Guide to Human-Form Warshades. Both of those guides provide great insight into specific slotting approaches, play styles, and all around awesomeness.

  17. We don't really give builds away here. If you post a build you've worked out for your character yourself, many would be glad to help it. If you are just looking to jack a build someone else made, it would probably be best for everyone if you did your own lurking.

Your tone at first seemed to paint you as one who cared about the game and its players, but over the course of several posts has not done well for your own image, and players are right to speak of requesting a ban against you here on these forums as your goals seem to be quite contrary to the nature of COX's community which even recently on a popular web series that looks at older MMOs going FTP, gained this game very high praise with such comments as a friendly, helpful, and SELFLESS community not hung up on the owning one upmanship so common in other MMOs.

If behavior like yours is allowed to become widespread then soon the long and beloved community attitude of putting up names they have lost interest in for others to pick up will dry up as thieves steal them to resale.

To That End I must ask my fellow heroic and villainous forumites to stand with me and start a /signed against using the forums to post SALES of character names. We have a long established tradition that fills this need and now its endanger of being exploited by those lacking in good gamemanship(sportsmanship for gamers) ethics. Please DEVs be our heroes now when we need you!

I don't feel bad charging people on the market for items they want. Someone was glad to pay him influence for something he was selling in game. People talked about "griefing," and then went on to nitpick little ways that having these names in the first place was "against the rules." Talk about being petty.

You're complaining that he didn't just give them away. Sure, I guess that would be "nicer," but the bottom line is that he still offered to exchange in game items that people obviously wanted, making them available to the community.

Influence is an abundant, renewable resource. He wasn't taking names from other players maliciously at any point. I'm sorry to say it, but you guys are just whining at this point.

The fighting pool requires no wasted power choices- You can slot up boxing/kick with Kinetic combats as one of the most valuable set mules available to you. Tough is useful if for nothing else than providing slots for KB Protection with one slot and potentially 6% defense to all damage with another two... Either way, the fighting pool is an asset to softcapping while allowing you to take a resist shield for layered survivability (and adding in more resistance to stack with it.) I don't see why you would view any of the powers it offers as wasteful.

Yeah I agree, the Keyes badges are very tedious (and same for Lambda, just because you need to run it three times to get them all.) I think the Devs really want to encourage re-playability for the trials and the Lambda badges and the MoM Nightmares badge serve to encourage people to run the new end game content more. For MoM I think the incentive is nice but for Lambda I just don't think it's an issue. I would like to see those badges changed so they can all be picked up in one run.

This is not accurate. The Warwalkers in Underground require attention to be paid in using temp powers, strategic pulling and active object destruction- Same with Marauder to an extent. There's also pulling voids to Penelope during Minds of Mayhem, destroying AM's terminals during Keyes... The trials certainly don't reward mindless Scrapperlock. Heck, during the beginning of MoM you can't even DPS the AV's from melee unless you utilize your taunts proactively and remain mindful of your environment. If you're just talking about BAF, that'd be one thing. During most of the trials, there are many mechanics to be mindful of which require you to back off or otherwise position yourselves correctly during AV fights or you risk league wipes.

In my opinion, AE is still the best way to make a billion from nothing in a couple hours of work. Assuming you have a good build (I run SS/Fire) you should be able to cap your tickets per run in just over a minute on 54x8. Farm to 750 tickets and then click the glowie. I use the Fire! arc, it's the same mission over and over and running through it once puts me around ~7,500 tickets.

As for spending the tickets, I know TopDoc (or someone?) ran numbers on what the most profitable rolls to use are. I personally like to change it up based on whims between a few, some of the ones I've had great luck with are:

    20-24 Bronze
    25-29 Bronze
    30-34 Silver
    35-39 Silver

Craft the good stuff and delete the rest. If you aren't familiar with what is worth selling and what isn't, it will take you a bit longer to check the worth of your rolls. I suggest always checking the crafted prices and always selling crafted since enhancements tend to move faster and move for more cash than recipes do.

After you rake up a decent amount of cash, say a couple billion, leaving low bids on high demand purple enhancements is a good way to make fast cash. Generally within a couple of days you can make 100 million profit or more per enhancement.

The option of stealthing/speeding through tips is there also if you know the maps well enough. Personally I find the running around to be too much of a hassle most of the time, but the 5 random recipes from the 35-39 roll are usually pretty profitable, or if you're not into gambling, get Kinetic Combat tri's or LOTG 7.5%'s for 2 merits.

Additionally, you could do tips and SSA's on a character for a few weeks and pick up a Gladiator's Armor 3% with your merits. That would work by saving up your Empyrean Merits doing Incarnate Trials too- If you are able to succeed on one of each trial a day it will take you less than two weeks to get a Gladiator's 3% from Empyrean Michael (though I personally see them dropping in value soon with PVP farming and the Enhancement Converters coming into play.)
