And as I previously mentioned, the vast majority of them are in China, which makes it impossible to prosecute them. Basically, once you've been dumb enough to let yourself become a victim, there is nothing anyone can do to help you.

Buying from RMTers is just stupid, but plenty of people do it anyway, which is why they're still here.

Hilarious how people will spend more buying influence than they would have spent unlocking the features they could use to earn it themselves. And then get their accounts banned when they get hijacked to spam people with.

The funniest part? When that happens they blame the GAME for it instead of their own stupidity.
Again, You only hear about the bad because the good expiriences won't be talked about for fear of being banned.

I still believe that if they change their stance from, "your account will be canceled if you're caught buying and selling" to "We know these sites exist and warn you never to use them. The people that have had good expiriences will be able to tell others.

P.S. There is no law, except what CoH/NCsoft has created, that makes buying/selling of "gold" illegal.

(Ignoring the fact that the objects in Lam are always in the same place, and doesn't take much to memorize them.)
Marking a moving target so it can be seen on the nav or mini map while it moves is much better than [here]

And, (LAMBDA) I have too much lag to memorize the locations. I blip through the maps in those rooms.

The more enemies around you, and according to their powers, you receive a buff. For example, if you have 2 people with empathy type heal powers and 4 with big dps abilities like a blaster you get a moderate regen bonus and a high damage bonus.
    -snip-

When I saw devourer, I was thinking the buff would be based on enemies defeated, as if you ate them or at least obsorbed the remaining essence somehow, for a short time.

I was also picturing it being a moderate resistance with moderate regen and a moderate def to melee. each enemy "devoured" would buff the regen and recharge buff on the character. Kinda like a vampire.

I believe the OP idea was to have each player have one marker they can place, for emergencies, and a leader have unlimited markers

These markers would show up on the mini map and on the nav as objectives.

Leader example: LAMBDA_Have the best video card/most survivable players as team leaders. They go into the "granade" and (forgot the other) areas and they run through marking all the containers that need destroyed, so the other players can find them.

Member example: BAF_If a prisoner is escaping, a player can target them.

Maybe those that have had good luck don't say anything in fear of having their account deleted, where as a concept of a game account being deleted is minor compared to RL issues.

Allowing and having a forum for just this issue would reduce the theft outcomes and help the sites that do, JUST sell the "gold" and have no "side" business.

  7. In the long run, I could care less. I'm just stating a concept idea that might make (area specific) local chat and some global chats less cluttered. But, if the idea isn't accepted, then lets drop it. But, We'll all have to live with it the way it is.

P.S, manipulating a market isn't illegal or unethical ... it's just annoying, to those that are manipulating the market in their own way. Also, to those that just want to buy what they need at a reasonable price.

After thought, how is the "haves"(those that know how to work the market) for personal use better than the "haves" for monetary value any different?

I just can't see there being any honest, hard-working powerleveling/gold-farming companies out there. I don't know if the practice is, in fact illegal (I would doubt it), but opening the game up to allow such behaviour would be a bad thing.
With the recognition of the act (which is OBVIOUSLY happening anyway) They could set up a forum (players would post to) to post feedback on good sites/warning for bad, and a warning in the service agreement and at the heading of the posts stating information isn't founded on research and to puchase at your own will.

An example of this is ... FactorFiction.com. Bad things happen, having a place where you can go and read reviews on it, Is a good thing. Like I said, It's obviously happening anyway.

The only other way would be to lock "gold" and other enhancments to the (global)player that earn it. But, PLing would still be out there. There is no winning.

No, you can't. From the Rules of Conduct:
    • 8. You may not market, promote, advertise, or solicit within the City of Heroes, City of Villains, or Going Rogue game or on the official City of Heroes website.
    • 10. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying, selling, trading, sharing, or transferring access to any City of Heroes, City of Villains, or Going Rogue account.
    • 11. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying or selling items for cash or trading items from one server to another.

    From the User Agreement:

    Section 2:
(iv) sell, sub-license, rent, lease, grant a security interest in, borrow, lend, loan, network or engage in any activity that could in any way transfer or provide others access to any Service, Content, Software, or parts thereof, including but not limited to any serial code number, access key or the like.
Yeah, and many other existing companies don't have slaves or nearly slaves either? ... I bet much of the products most people buy is made in this way. Obviously CoH/NCsoft would remove all sites that don't adhere to human rights, anti-slavery, and ID theft laws. BUT, this would require the companies being caught. If they aren't caught we can't assume they're guilty or we are breaking our constitution, innocent till proven guilty.

As far as the, agreement CoH/NCsoft has, they reserve the right to change it. If changing it so the "companies" can be recognized and funneled into one chat can improve some gamers expirience, then that would be a good thing.

I still think it would be better for them to recognize: this is an aspect of the company we can't remove. So, we opted to allow it, so we could keep track of it. If all the game companies did this, the owners of legitimate honest companies (not performing identity theft, and not being caught inslaving people) would actually be able to be honest about who they are, and set up accounts as such.
  10. Kirsten: FYI, anything that has pets is VIP only and/or follows the same Rules as MM and controllers do currently. Refering to many of your concept ideas. They either have MM or Controller based powers.

    I like many of them.

The thing that I have noticed is the superiority Icy Bastion seems to have over Hibernate as a Tier 9th power. Icy Bastion would be far better on an Ice Tank than Hibernate with its ability to temporarily plug Ice Armor's weakness of lack of resistance. In addition the added resistence from Icy Bastion would stack with Ice Armor's Fire resistence and better allow Ice Tankers to absorb the Alpha Strike.

Hibernate on the other hand works against gaining aggro since it locks you in a block of ice. So by phase healing yourself , you are not Tanking and cannot protect your team. In addition the phase nerf made Hibernate a shadow of its former glory. The Nophase timer just seems long and many Ice Tankers never use Hibernate often anyway. The Ice Tankers who do have to use Hibernate often would find they would not need to if they had an alternative power to plug Ice Armors gaps, a Resistence version of Shadow Meld in a way, although with a longer duration and longer recharge time

Stalkers by the way get access to both Icy Bastion and Hibernate while Tankers cannot so I do not see a balance problem with Tanker Ice Armor getting Icy Bastion instead of Hibernate. Stalkers can also get Shadow Meld combined with Icy Bastion too.

As such, I am suggesting to replace Hibernate with Icy Bastion as the Tier 9th power in Tanker Ice Armor since the latter is more useful to Tankers and more logical to Tanking Philosophy.

    Thanks
I like the concept; though, I would also like them to fix Hib so that it is tanker friendly.

Concept: Make tanker Hib a pet: It would have it's own HP (4000) a larger taunt aura and taunt mag, and 90% resistance to all. (optional) at the end of Hib, or when you click, it converts the remaining HP to AoE damage when you break out of it.

That sound like a tank to you?

Want some alternatives? See the Consolidated Tanker Suggestions thread in the Tanker forums.
I know ... but I was inputing a healthy alternative concept. Not just saying "self insta-kill" or "I don't like your idea".

OP concept: I'm spending too much time on the defensive, I need to spend more energy attacking.

    Maybe he can't post there.

    Give the concept some thought.
Fire: [inherent]For every 5% health lost, fire attacks have one more DoT of fire damage.
Electric: [toggle] moderate endurance concumption, adds a building DoT damage with each attack.
Ice: does a building buising effect for each attack(including AoE and cones) (10%) builds up to 30% lasts up to 15seconds.
all natural attacks: [inherent] stackable minor damage buff per hit with an attack

Back to work ... will update more in a bit.

I do for the same reason the Dev's are. That being said, I would like them to make a "liar" option in bases. It's upgrades could be paid for by time spent offline in your lair (like you were working your day job to pay for it, or each day job contributes). Then the soloers could have an option.

If your SG isn't active, Find an active one. There should be at least one.
  14. IMHO ... CoH should embrace the sellers -to an extent-. Make a chat that they can use, and give them an account they can monitor. example: CoH advertises "In an effort to promote small business owners, We are making account changes so "gold" traders can advertise without harrasing." Then they ask all new accounts if they are a "gold" trading site. If they answer yes, they are allowed a F2P account with a limit to only one chat (advertising chat) and the ability to RESPOND to tells. The advertising chat is so they won't post on all the other chats. those that are interested and would purchase "gold" can go there, all the rest can remove that chat from the list.

If CoH and other MMOs used -embrasing trade- they would keep and keep happy all players.

Side note: They work for the "gold" they sell too. I don't see why they can't sell it. I could sell my account (should I choose too). CoH sells enhancments ("gold" is used for) for $, why can't those sites sell "gold" for $ too.

HMMM ... I didn't see a helpful alternative in there.

I think he means that all tank attack sets should have a similar buff as SS. notice I said similar

fire could have an inferno (like the DoT damage of burn), and could be health dependant.

I can't think of more ... getting ready to leave work, but you get the idea.
  16. I agree with the Dev's on this one. It's not a SG if only one player is in it. I like the idea of personal lairs.

/signed for personal lairs w/ with the ablility to ($)buy additional space.

Another options, make a ($)purchasable account storage where any of your toons can save items there and they can be used by any toon.

    Dehancements

First power set the popped into my mind was KM.
  20. either the defenses need to be the same as scrapper with less HP, <-- The one I would like.

Or the defences less but with higher HP.

IMO: The defenses should be higher 2X the normal numbers and last 2X as long for the caster and they should be PBAoE clicks, or, the same numbers and should be toggles that can't be detoggled. I don't care if I (can be) mezzed, as long as my toggles don't turn off and heals can still be used. The detoggle effect should also apply to abilities that effect enemies.

Personally, Im not even thinking of replacing any of the melee attacks with shields, that can be obtained in an Epic pool. I'd say their defenses would be the buffs/debuffs that come with the buff/debuff set.

Obviously some sets will be nicer to the meleer than others. I'd probably not even bother giving them Trick Arrow.
I'd give them trick arrow ... then tack on a minor M/R/AoE defense to all the powers. Have M/R/AoE be 10/30/20% def buff respectively(with all powers taken). Ranged Def and AoE def would be due to having his eyes at range for the arrow attacks. Ranged would be picked up in powers teir 1-4. AoE would be picked up powers teir 5-7. Melee would be just from combat expirience and would be picked up with teir 8-9 powers. Like SR all powers would be required for the full benefits.

If you don't believe me about Warburg being the zone you describe, I simply changed a few names in your description (Statesman for Cole, Rouges for resistance, Hero for Praetorians) and as far as I can tell we have a near perfect match.
Perhaps add a little variety to warburg. I like the concept of meteors falling from the sky, like the apex (I believe) TF. Add burning building missions and have shivan's explode out of the meteorites as they hit ... FUN

Your idea itself isn't bad. I do think that changes could and should be made to the test/beta servers (one or the other) to make it easier to do the things you'd like. I just don't see them making a third test environment.

I think the problem the devs have with giving players that kind of access is that far too many would decide to use the test servers as a live server where they could simply trick out uber builds and ignore the rest of the game. Not to mention the screaming and hollering that would constantly go on when stuff gets wiped or locked out for testing new features/content.

To the P.S.: If my memory serves we had just Test up until GR. I think they made the beta to test Ultra Mode and work on Freedom in complete secrecy. Players could still use the old test servers and there was no possible accidental leaks between the separate test environments.
    I'll accept that purposed change.

Have a 1 week life of transfered toons to the test or beta server. after that time, they get auto deleted. Add unlimited enhancments to WW/BM. How does that sound as far as options?
